It works well to prop up phone. Before you adhere the grip to your phone find a place where you feel it's comfortable and will hold your phone upright.

The vent car mount that PopSocket sells is also a perfect mount for your car.

She said it helps to keep her from dropping the phone so I am all for that. Don't put it on the phone itself...put it on the back of a case.
