NOT designed for the "gummy" phone covers

My son got an iPod and immediately, we went to Best Buy to get a cover for it and a PopSocket. He chose one of those flexible covers that keeps the phone really well protected but doesn't make the iPod twice as thick as it was originally. Unfortunately, the pop socket was a bust. He bought it and we both really struggled to remove the plastic film on top of the sticky back. Then, the pop socket popped right off about 3 days after the purchase. It's going back. I think what is most frustrating is that the salesperson who helped us could have mentioned that pop sockets don't stick very well to the "gummy-style" covers.
