Nice A/V reciever - the manual is pretty limited
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.The product itself was fine (the self-calibration for the speakers was nice - it recognized the correct speaker setup and via the included mic, calibrated the audio such that it sounds great now for movies, TV and music. A gap was the manual. It was stated that it was a 'basic' manual and included several hook up diagrams (obviously, few manuals include all options) but there was a lack of information for the features/controls of the receiver and there was quite a bit of 'self-discovery' and exploration. Also, the front panel, while elegantly simple, is almost lacking buttons/controls which on my prior Sony made it easier to "find the right button" and press it vs get out the remote (which I don't use), hunt-n-click for the right menu element to change a desired setting. Also, I miss a 'switched' accessory outlet on the back - I use those for powered cabinet cooling fans. It would be nice to customize the display more - you can rename the output and dim it but it would be nice to have a clock/time/date or change the way the display 'reads.'
