The charger works very well and definitely is not an eyesore. The speaker has to sit somewhere so why not sit on this matching charger. UE informs me that it does not hurt the speaker to continue sitting on the charger once it's full so I have a fully loaded speaker whenever I need it. I am a fan.

Makes charging easier and simpler!

I am very glad that I did end up discovering it and decided to get it for her as well just to make things more convenient. You simply plug the charging cord into the side and into any outlet and simply place the speaker on top for an easy way to charge. No more fighting with pulling open a tab and trying to line up the charging port every time to charge. She simply places the speaker on this and it instantly begins charging. I would definitely recommend buying if you want to make thing simpler for yourself.
