Great in functionality, poor in longevity

This thing is a HUGE timesaver, easy to use, easy to clean, and makes GREAT food. I have owned it a little over 9 months. My issue is that the basket was difficult to insert since Day 1, requiring one had to hold the machine in place and one to insert the basket. The basket only went in place after a loud "pop". Now that the machine has failed, I examined to try to understand why. The safety switch on the front bottom lip of the base unit had far too much engagement with the basket. This small plastic "paddle" then pushes on the actual safety switch. My safety switch is fine, however, now that the small plastic "paddle" has worn far to quickly, it will not make the proper contact. Remember, the warranty on this guy is only 60 days, Now I am left with a counter blob.

Love my new Air Fryer!!

Great fryer if you can get past the plastic smell

I’ve done everything that I could find online to do, but ended up leaving it in the garage for a few days after I first got it as the whole house started to have that plastic smell.
