This smokless grill from PowerXL is an excellent grill for those with no grills, or want to grill indoors without all the smoke and mess. I was very excited to not have to fire up a whole grill just to make a single meal. What I liked most about this grill was how modular all the components were. It seems that if something did break, you could replace without needing to replace the whole grill. There are a couple drip trays that come apart and it makes cleaning a breeze. All the parts that are able to get dirty can be washed in the dishwasher, and that is an amazing feature to have for a kitchen appliance. The grill heats up relatively quick, and the temperature stays high without a problem. The fan that sucks in the smoke does a good job a managing the smoke levels. Depending on what you cook, it may not fully take away all the smoke, but it does reduce it by quite a lot. Compared to a regular indoor grill, it is definitely worth the investment to get a smokeless model. With all the different models of smokless grills out there, this one by PowerXL has hit all the right marks for me. Easy to clean and does what it is advertised without a hitch. I would definitely recommend this produce to a friend.

This indoor grill has exceeded expectations. It is easy to use and smoke-free. We have grilled chicken, fish, portobello mushrooms, and veggies, and all have come out great! Nice grilled flavor. Heating is even once you let the grill heat up all the way (about five minutes). We love that the grill is so easy to clean. The components stack and unstack, so there are no "internal" parts that are difficult to clean. Even the lid is easily detached for washing. The griddle must be ordered separately for about $15k which appears to be a $10 discount. This is an excellent indoor grill that we love to use. Smoke-free tasty, fun to use, easy to clean. Great kitchen appliance to have, Highly recommended!

Great Grill Flavor, None of the Smoke, Easy to Use

I love grilling, the only problem is that I live in a condo with absolutely zero outdoor space. I’ve always been envious of all my friends in their single family homes with a backyard sporting those fancy outdoor grills. I didn’t need anything fancy, I just wanted to be able to experience the sumptuous grill flavor indoors. When I heard that the Power XL Smokeless Grill Pro allowed me to do just that, I knew I had to try it out for myself. The Power XL Smokeless Grill delivers on everything that is great about grilling, but without the smoke filled air. Over the course of the week that I tried the grill, I grilled hot dogs, burgers, salmon, steak, and veggies. They all tasted great with the same great grill flavor as if they were cooked on an outdoor grill. And the food even has the grill marks to show for it! All the oil is collected in a container below the grill. The actual grill plate measures approximately 13” x 8”. Measuring in food quantity, you’ll be able to grill 6 burger patties at once, an 8” salmon filet, or 8-12 chicken drumsticks depending on size. The grill is also very easy to use. You just pour 2 cups of water in the water tray, turn on the grill, set the temperature, and you’re ready to grill. Can’t get any easier than that. No propane or charcoal to deal with. I enjoy using the grill, but like all kitchen appliances, I did not like cleaning up the grill. The easiest thing to clean is the grill plate since it is coated with a non-stick surface. You’ll also need to wash the glass lid, drip tray, and water tray, and also wipe around the grill for oil splatter. Here are some other things about the grill. The power cord is about 40” in length. You’ll need to position the grill close to an outlet. I just wished the cord was closer to 6’ to allow me greater freedom to place the grill on the kitchen countertop. The grill is also kind of heavy, weighing in about 13 pounds. It’s not something you’ll want to be moving around much. All in all, I think this is a fantastic grill. It does what it claims. It gives you the same great grill flavor without the smoke. Definitely thumbs up from me!

Came in nice packaging and well protected. Opening up you see each layer of the grill broken down. Comes with some recipes for quick meals. Grill is kind of long make sure you have a place to store. Chicken.. marinated in bbq sauce for a few hours and heated this bad boy up. I was surprised that there was no smoke. Not really stinking up my house and I hate that about bbq chicken on my bbq. Kind of made a mess and this is a pain to clean up. I liked having the convenience of using an indoor grill instead of stinking up my shirt on the bbq outside. I would recommend but make sure you have space.

So I've cooked several things on the grill and I will say, no smoke whatsoever. It does a good job overall. It's easy to set up and pretty straight forward so no issues there. It heats evenly and cleanup is a snap. It will not replicate the actual taste and heat of a real outdoor grill, but it's as close as you can get. As others have mentioned the lack of a griddle takes a star away. You can get one as indicated on a flyer inside the box, but you have to pay "shipping and handling" It should be included. Otherwise, I'd recommend.

I am pleasantly surprised by this grill. I have tried other tabletop electric grills, but the food never came out tasting like anything close to being cooked on an actual gas/fire grill. However, the PowerXL is as close as I have come to getting that grilled sensation. I have already cooked burgers, hot dogs, chicken and pork chops and all came out fully cooked and looked great. There are a couple features I want to mention: The top feature is in its name…” smokeless”. There is a fan that needs to be on during each cooking session which sucks up all the smoke. This makes grilling inside the house a breeze. I cooked several different items and not once did I have any issue with smoke. Also, there is a temperature knob, but you can only adjust it in increments of 50 (250, 300, 350, etc). You may have to play around with it to get the best temperature for whatever you plan to cook. Another necessary feature is the ease of cleanup. There is a drip tray, an interior catch plate, and the grill top that all come out for cleaning with minimal mess. Overall, I recommend this to anyone that loves to grill all year without having to bear the elements of nature.

The grill is easy use. Clean up was a snap. Cooking with the grill didn’t leave the house smelling like food. You can cook with or without the lid. It’s a great alternative when grilling outside is not possible.

I love to grill in the summer but I store the grill around October and miss grilled chicken, steaks and burgers. I was hoping to use the Power XL Smokeless Grill Pro to fill in the winter gaps and still enjoy as close to grilling as I could get indoors. I had not heard of Power XL before but I believe this is the second generation of smokeless grill and the box said it was “As seen on TV”. I was hoping to get some great grill marks and avoid getting the kitchen too smoky, which the Power XL grill was promising. I had been using a carbon steel pan which cooked steaks well but would smoke out the kitchen, even with the hood fan on Boost setting, and then set off the house smoke alarms. The first item I tried on the Power XL was salmon. I usually bake it and it is generally very good. On the Power XL, it seemed to take longer than baking it but it did get some good grill marks which I don’t get baking it. The skin was crispy and cooked well so I felt it was a good alternative to baking. The next night, I tried shrimp on it. I would previously broil them and they would take about two minutes a side. They took a little longer than that on the grill (the instructions say 4-5 minutes a side which I found a bit much and did 3-4). We were disappointed with the finished article – the shrimp was a bit chewy and all the spicy marinade seemed to lose its flavor. I’m not really sure what happened but it wasn’t a good demonstration of the grill. Finally, I tried cooking a rib-eye steak and a chicken breast on the grill. The chicken breast, I would usually cook in a frying pan and then add some BBQ sauce towards the end. It took a little longer than frying but came out with some decent grill marks and my wife said it was very moist and tasty. I then quickly cleaned up the grill plate and cranked up the heat to maximum, to sear my steak. Before I get to that, I should point out that the non-stick aspect of the included grill plate is excellent – nothing sticks and clean-up is super easy. I tried to sear my steak on it but really, it just never got hot enough to pull that off. I did get an edible, cooked steak at the end (it seemed to take forever) but it was not a good looking steak and looked nothing like the one in the included recipe book I was following. When I checked the surface temperatures with an infra-red thermometer, the readings were all over the place. The temperature was set to 450 F (maximum), yet I found the plate ranged between 410 and 210 F depending on its position relative to the electric heating elements below. Power XL claim heating is even across the surface but that simply is not true. On the positive side, it did do a great job of stopping any smoke or cooking smells getting out but for me, the trade-off in cooking was a bit too much. Something else that should be described – the extremely loud “beeping” the unit does any time you touch the control surface. Turn it on – loud beep; bump up the temperature – more loud beeps for each bump; turn on the fan – another loud beep. I am not sure who decided it needed to be that loud and then also left out any function to turn off the sounds but it just seems so unnecessary. The instructions are a little puzzling in terms of filling up the under-slung water container. I get that it is part of the smoke collection system but it says to put about 2 cups of water in before cooking. The entire container can only hold about that and you may spill some pushing it into the chassis if you follow the instructions to the letter. I stuck with 1 cup and used it to infuse some flavor in the fish by swapping water with wine and some lemon and tarragon. It worked well in that case. Cleanup was not too bad – you empty out the water container which captures some of the fats and oils released and then just hand wash a few parts or you can put them in the dishwasher. We hand washed ours as from experience, dish washing will wear non-stick surfaces out quicker but it is a personal choice. The electric elements need cleaning but they were not too bad to just wipe down. The entire chassis of the unit does collect oil residue so will need cleaning thoroughly from time to time. All in all, this was a disappointing unit for our circumstances. The non-stick of the surface is excellent, the way it stops smoke escaping works well but the inefficient and patchy heating of the surface just does not work for me. If you had no alternatives, it is at least fairly useful but if you can fry, broil, bake and have an outdoor grill, then this doesn’t replace any of those and often seems less efficient. I read that this was an improvement on the first generation Power XL smokeless grill so perhaps a third generation will fix a lot of the issues I encountered.

My husband had all the fun with our new Power XL Electric grill, and so these are his exact words. "This thing is so awesome, we'll never have to eat to out again." While that is probably not going to happen (he loves going to Texas de Brazil once a month), he was having a good time and told me repeatedly that everything was super easy, and he wants a new stainless steel grill set for Christmas.

This grill works surprisingly well. We took advantage of using it for Thanksgiving for asparagus wrapped bacon, grilled zucchini, and a smores dessert. It also grilled turkey burgers and chicken very juicy. I really love that it's so very easy to clean, everything comes of easily and put back quick. It's large enough for family of 5. Its also great that the cover stays on hindge to the back of the grill. The drip pan is helpful too. Which I took pictures of how well the food came out.

We love the PowerXL smokeless Grill Pro. I was not sure really what to expect when I ordered it for testing. Not that I was unaware of what an indoor grill does. But more that I was not sure if it would be a "oh that's neat" or "wow we will really use this". 100% the latter'; we use it multiple times a week. Even though we live where cooking outside is an option, we seldom do for whatever reason. This allows us to cook inside and enjoy that outdoor grilled taste without having to jack with a charcoal or propane grill to do so. The device is basically plug in ready out of the box and setup time is simple just add the water, insert the components, and your off. Clean up is just as easy because the water tray catches most of the grease and is part of what keeps the unit smokeless. Best part is that all the inserts are dishwasher safe. My favorite part is the nonstick cooking surfaces that will actually make grill marks. The unit only takes up the counter space of say a pan you would use to cook a turkey and yet still offers enough cooking space that we are able to grill for a family of four. I will not infomercial this item, but it is great and everything we have cooked on it has turned out looking gorgeous and tasting wonderful.

I absolutely love grilling out but it’s not a year round thing. When i saw this product i was interested in the promise of a smokeless indoor grilling experience and it’s pretty sizable grilling surface was better than a lot of the other competing products. Setup is very simple and the out of the box instructions are easy to follow. I had Korean bbq chicken thighs and veggies cooking in a matter of minutes. How long that meal had to stay on the grill was an entirely different story. The recipes in the included guide suggest that grilled chicken shouldn’t need more than about 5 minutes per side to cook thoroughly. It turned out that i needed over 10 minutes per side to get grill marks and a cooked through finish. I think part of this comes from the temperature control. It doesn’t quite line up with the flashing lights - which leaves you wondering whether you’re over, under, or just right. On a very positive note - there was absolutely no smoke coming from the unit and my kitchen wasn’t left smelling like an outdoor picnic. If you are patient enough to manage through the cooking temperature guesstimating then this is a great addition to your kitchen.

The PowerXL Smokeless Grill is an indoor grill. In the box is a diamond shaped grill plate, glass lid, manual, power cord, and a cookbook. All items where neatly packed in the box. After washing set up only took a couple of minutes. Following the directions for the burn in was easy, this should be done outside or by a window as you get that first-time smell. Cooking was fast and easy on the big grill plate. After we ate our meal the unit was disassembled and washed in the dish washer. All the parts came out clean as new. The modern appearance of this unit fits in well on our countertop. The griddle plate is not included in your purchase and you are required to pay a shipping and handling fee to get it. All in all, we are incredibly happy with the PowerXL Smokeless Grill. I would recommend this product to family and friends.
