Sucker for sci-fi so I enjoyed this movie and the expansion to the alien universe is always a plus for me. Had to get the 4K version of this for a rewatch song side alien + alien covenant.

I greatly enjoyed this movie. My wife & I are big fans of all the Alien movies so when we saw this was a new movie bringing them back yet again we had to see & of course add it to our collection! Covenant is Wayyy better but follows this one. So if you haven't seen either of them I'd recommend watching this one first.

I wasnt sure what to expect from this movie. I was told it was a direct prequel to Alien. Let's just say it fits into the franchise.....albeit loosely, for now. Still, i really enjoyed Prometheus and I'm looking forward to the sequel. Noomi Rapace did a great job and i wish she was returning. If you enjoy good sci-fi, you should pick t this up.

I saw this in theaters when it was released and wanted to revisit it after watching the sequel. Despite the predictable plot (and the murky "loose ends" that make more sense after seeing Covenant), the beauty—and horror—of the visuals and Scott's unmatched skill for mood make this worth watching again and again.

If you like the Aliens movies, it’s good to know how it started.

Movies are one of my favorite things with which to engage. Many of the movies that are produced these days do everything for the viewer. There is no need for the viewer to think and project. This one is different. The plot can be a bit complicated for some. But, if you enjoy engaging with the plot and the characters there's a lot to be had as a result.

After this came out in theaters, I saw a lot of negative reviews, so I was a little apprehensive about buying it, but I'm glad I did. This is a prequel to the "Alien" movies, and is an interesting story explaining where they came from. While this movie didn't scare me as much as the original (but I was just a kid back then) I still enjoyed it a lot.

An excellent science fiction film about a group that is researching life off Earth in 2089.. Archaeologists Elizabeth Shaw and Charlie Holloway discover a star map in Scotland that matches others from several unconnected ancient cultures. This discovery leads to a place where they research and find something they weren't expecting.. Great film prequel to the Alien series by Ridley Scott. This was gripping.

This movie was underrated in my opinion. As an origin story to the Alien series, I thought it had an interesting story, with believable, well-acted characters. Just know that it doesn't feel like a horror movie at all, more of a Sci-fi thriller.

I have been waiting to own this until the price came down. I ended up buying it for 12 dollars, so that's good. The only thing that bothered me was that there were no copies that had the outer sleeve. It's completely minor, but I would have liked to have it. Also, the "eco-friendly" packaging feels thin and cheap, but again, that's minor.

Prometheus is my favorite of the "Alien" movies because it gives the "origin" of the bad boy aliens. I love a good backstory, plus the twist about our own origins is excellent (no, I won't give it away). The sale price caused me to buy my second copy of Prometheus, that's how much I liked the story. Thanks, Best Buy!

I've read a lot of mixed reviews on this prequel to the Alien franchise, but once I saw it for myself-I liked it. The visual effects played a major role in my liking of the movie, the story could have been a little better but overall it was entertaining.

A good idea for the sci-fi thriller but seems to take along time to setup and quite long at 2+ hours. The cast is too large: its hard to tell what half the people's roles are (military, biologist, mineralogist, etc.) - most people's speaking parts seem limited to identifying themselves by name and role, and then screaming later in the movie when they die. The film as presented has some holes that aren't properly addressed outside of the special features. A good 25-30 minutes of deleted and expanded scenes though, which is quite a lot and helps fill the gaps. Its one of those movies where a "Director's Cut" seems like it would have been a more complete story than what was actually released to theaters, and probably explains why it wasn't all that successful. Plenty of better sci-fi thrillers to choose from that are more well-rounded (Ridley Scott's own Alien being one)

I have wanted this set for a LONG time, but just could not bring myself to spend $40 to get a set of unknown "extras".... when the Black Friday ad came out for $6, I figured why not. I enjoyed the movie (not a much as the second) and am looking forward to all the info on the extra discs...

I was unfamiliar with this movie and picked it up on a whim. I was surprised the movie is prequel. It is the beginning to the "Alien" series. As a fan, I was pleasantly surprised. I'm a sci-fi fan and enjoyed the movie. Like others, I have questions about the meaning of the beginning scenes, but that helps with the intrigue.

I saw this movie many years ago and before watching covenant I wanted to watch again. This movie is packaged with the blueray 3D version which is great for the low price of this package. A must for any Aliens fan. I now have all the Aliens movies and bb has Alien, Aliens, Alien 3, Alien R as a combo set which is a nice deal. Got to get covenant too.

If you are a fan of the Aliens Trilogy you might be disappointed in this Prequel. This takes place before Aliens (Ridley etc..) and basically explains how the Alien Xneomorph comes to existence. Dont expect Space Marines or super battle sequences, but it is a good movie and does answer a few questions. But not enough.

To me, this is the 2nd best film in the Alien franchise, next to the first. It takes a filmmaker with an extraordinary talent for storytelling like Ridley Scott to make such an intriguing flick that stands well on its own. It's the Alien saga at it's most existential. It's a great set-up for what I hope is a companion trilogy.
