It was a pretty good prequel to the alien series a bit confusing at times but visually stunning

No need to spoil the movie, but this is technically related to Alien (franchise). I want to go into detail about the disc itself. The cover you see is what you get in a typical blu-ray blue case. There are 2 commentary tracks on the one I received and deleted/alternate scenes also. For fans of the film who want a copy but don't need a million special edition-style features.

Prometheus gave us a look into the beginnings of the Alien movie series. Charlize Theron gave a great performance as a cold and calculating corporate type. This was a big part of the Alien movies as a plot point of reference. All through Alien to Alien Resurrection, the corporate bottom line was the reason for the trips in to the regions of space where the "Alien" life-force was, and, to see if the creature could be tamed for use as a product i.e. weapon. A Strong story line and fantastic FX made the movie very watchable and enjoyable.

One of the best 3D blu rays out there especially live-action. Ridley Scott and cinematographer dariusz Wolski know exactly how to milk the format for all it’s worth even in the most standard of setups. Depth is exceptional and this transfer has practically no issues of crosstalk or noise despite the amount of dark in this film. Nobody makes sci-fi like Ridley.

For a movie that was so anxiously anticipated, I was a little disappointed when I finally saw it. It was, however, very well shot and edited, so l knew I would own it when it was released on Bluray. I really liked the movie, but some of the inconsistencies and plot holes are surprising. (Apologies for this review sounding like a complete contradiction.)

Ridley Scott's "Prometheus" is a magnificent science-fiction film, all the more intriguing because it raises questions about the origin of human life and doesn't have the answers. It's in the classic tradition of golden age sci-fi, echoing Scott's "Alien" (1979), but creating a world of its own. I'm a pushover for material like this; it's a seamless blend of story, special effects and pitch-perfect casting, filmed in sane, effective 3-D that doesn't distract.

In this prequel to the "Alien" franchise/ movies, the viewer is captivated by an immersive experience aboard the exploration ship Prometheus It surprisingly tackles the age old question of where do we come from really. From science , religion , and alien politics it tags all the bases. However the movie leaves you wanting more and just when it really gets good it leaves a question rather than an answer. If you are a fan of real science fiction you should give this more than one viewing. Two thumbs up!

While I enjoyed the movie, I understand it is supposed to be a prequel to the Alien Quadrology. I only know this from reading fan material and industry news as this movie does not make that apparent in any way. I'm eager to see where they go with the new trilogy I've heard this is supposed to be a part of. As a standalone movie it was good, as an intro piece to a new trilogy, this COULD be even better.

Ridley Scott has finally answered some of the questions Alien fans may have been asking. This prequel is very entertaining and suspenseful, and the production value was top notch. The story was deliberate and thoughtful and gives the viewer insight into how Scott's aliens came about. This installment is good for franchise fans or a good starting point for someone who has yet to see any of the Alien movies alike.

Not bad but I probably won't watch it again. This seems to be a precursor to the Alien movies. The plot: Man is created by an extraterrestrial... Man tries to find his creator... Man learns his creator wants to exterminate him. I'm not really sure why the protagonist still wanted to go to the Prometheans' home world, but then James Cameron never made the sequel so I guess we'll never know.

If you're like me and have been a lifelong fan of the alien series, then adding Prometheus to your library is a no-brainer. Despite its clunky plot holes and questionable actions of the characters, the tone, wonder and above all else, the horror, remains top notch. A beautiful digital transfer, this movie looks absolutely stunning in 1080p. Special features are all present. Do yourself a favor and get lost in this movie...at your own risk.

I am upgrading my film collection to 4k now that I have an expensive tv to showcase the wonderful nature of 4k as well as hdr. This is one of those films that appears brilliantly in hdr. The story is great too. I loved seeing this in theaters, only adds to the pleasure with more impactful dark, bright, and in between scenes.

I bought this to watch in 3D and it was so 3D that I began to become part of the story which was scary at times. Other times I thought the experience had become so 3D that it had actually transgressed into a 4D environment, like when the guys are using flame throwers and my heater turned on or they were playing with gooey stuff and I realized... that... there was gooey stuff. So yeah, good movie, great cinematic effects, awesome story, other stuff which is also good.

So I bought this movie not entirely knowing that it was related to Aliens. In short, it is a wonderful movie that one can see that it is merely setting the future ground for the ones to come. The acting was average and the action was great. It is still held a slight suspense thriller touch.

I really enjoyed Prometheus and all the links to the previous Alien films. It was nice the the film was set up for both fans and casual watchers to enjoy. My only really gripe was (SPOILERS) the Xenomorph at the end of the move. It felt really forced and not really in tone with the rest of the film. (SPOILERS END) Outside of that it was overall an enjoyable film.

After watching "Alien- Covenant" I knew that I needed to watch "Prometheus" again. I was surprised to find this edition available at such a reasonable price- digital download AND several bonus features. If you're a fan of the "Alien" franchise and you haven't seen "Prometheus" or "Alien-Covenant" you're really missing out. This edition is definitely one that every fan will be satisfied watching.

Prometheus is a decent film, and a must-see if you enjoy the Alien series. It's a prequel to the Alien series, and also ties into Alien: Covenant. Personally, I like The Alien movies best (except for 4; that John st went right into the crapper about half way through), but at this price, it's worth adding this one to your collection.

One of the best scifi films of the past decade. Highly reccomend this movie to anyone who loves science fiction, or is a fan of the alien franchise. I've had no issue with the physical blu-ray and love that it comes with a digital code as well so you can watch on the go.

but I loved this movie. For a prequel of a franchise that I honestly have only seen #2 in (besides the AVP's), this is great fun! The lore behind it all introduced here may have lost a lot of people along the way, but for someone still relatively clueless to Alien (me), I thought this was a great thought experiment in the franchise.

I love to sit back at home, use my home theater stereo, put on a blue ray disk on my HD 50" LED TV, close the black out shades, and then crank up a good action movie!!! ( I don't have neighbors ). This one has enough twists, and a few things that jump at you wonder what's next. Without doing it to much. Just go with it, get lost in the movie. On sale it is a bargin.
