I actually tested the free chlorine residual from our sink and then the free chlorine residual from the fridge dispenser and it truly eliminated it all. We use the filtered water for our pets so this was important. We change them monthly.

I'm not an expert on water quality but I haven't noticed any issues with water color/taste. I have the automatic replenishment through Best Buy for every 6 months and works great! By the time I have to replace, I already have a new one handy!

It seems to do its job. I wish it lasted longer, it doesn’t seem to ever get to 6 months like they claim. Maybe we just drink too much water, but we’re only a family of 2.
