IT IS MY OWN FAULT FOR NOT RESEARCHING THAT INFO PRIOR TO ME PURCHASING A NEW FRIDGE LAST YEAR, AS I WAS IN A RUSH AS MY PREVIOUS FRIDGE DIED AND COULDN'T BE REPAIRED. I AM SERIOUSLY THINKING OF JUST STICKING TO TAP WATER AS IT ISN'T BAD WHERE I LIVE (PB GARDENS, FL). MY PREVIOUS FRIDGE ONLY REQUIRED THE FILTER TO BE REPLACED YEARLY. THE NEW ONE RECOMMENDS THAT THE FILTER BE REPLACED EVERY 6 MONTHS. JUST ANOTHER WAY FOR FRIGIDAIRE TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THE MAN!!!!!

My first one lasted me a year and a half. Second one lasted a year and water I pretty much the only thing I drink so that says a lot.

It last for up to 6 months or depending on the use of it. I found it on Amazon a little cheaper but Best Buy does price comparison so they gave it to me at the Amazon price.

The only problem is that the store had given me the wrong Epson ink cartridge and I had to wait for any exchange but this was not a normal result of store pick ups.

The price is too high in my opinion but what can I do this is the filter my fridge uses. Happy Best Buy carries it and I can get at least some points back.

ALMOST $50.00 TO REPLACE TWICE A YEAR. I CAN JUST SAVE UP AND BUY A DIFFERENT FRIDGE NEXT TIME. IT DOES HOWEVER PROVIDE FOR GOOD FILTRATION AND GOOD TASTING WATER.

Posted .BMBUZZED, I am dismayed to hear your water filter is not lasting as long as expected. Most manufacturers have the same time table for water filter replacement. An average family of 4 may typically need to replace the water filter every 4-6 months based on water quality, and water and ice usage. Most sources state you should drink about 8 glasses of water per day (64 ounces). Let's assume you pay approximately $6 per case of water (and remember, fancy imported waters can be much more), which is equal to $0.40 per bottle. For a family of four, that amounts to an annual cost of: $0.40 per bottle x 5.3 bottles per person = $2.13 x 4 people = $8.53 x 365 (days in a year) = $3,114.67. Compared to the price of 2-3 water filters a year, Filtered water is significantly lower in price than purchasing bottled water for drinking. *Ruth
