    Purple Rain is by far one of Prince's greatest achievements - the movie, while not bad, isn't the best showcase of acting. But the songs more than make up for it. It's so very 80s but that's not a bad thing.

    Excellent movie starring Prince, showing his rise from the local Minneapolis clubs to superstardom. The soundtrack, the 1980's dance scene is well documented in this bio of the late Prince Nelson Rogers.
