Ring Solar Charger

Owned for 2 months when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.The problem with this solar panel, is it is NOT compatible with all my external Ring cameras, so as soon as my Ring cameras no longer worked after a # of months (this has happened to a couple of my cameras already, disappointed), I had to buy a different solar panel. They should make these solar panels to be universal and work with ALL Ring cameras, which to me is a flaw in the item itself, that's my opinion. Another issue I found is that the solar panel doesn't pick up enough sunlight. I believe these solar panels should be improved.

It sounds like the device is not performing as expected. There are some troubleshooting steps that you can take to ensure that you have your Ring Solar Panel set up for optimal performance. The device's battery level may vary based on the amount of direct sunlight the solar panel receives. It is important to ensure that your Ring Solar Panel is installed correctly and that it is receiving enough direct sunlight to operate as intended. For best performance, Ring recommends at least two to three hours of direct sunlight for the Ring Solar Panel. With the recommended amount of direct sunlight, the device will remain continuously charged under most conditions.
Make sure there are no obstructions or objects that could cast a shadow on your solar panel, such as an extended roof, tree, or bush. Seasonality and how far north (or south) you live can affect the strength of the sun. If you live in the Northern Hemisphere, install your solar panel facing south. If you live in the southern hemisphere, install it facing north. Ring recommends using the adjustable arm to angle the panel at about 45 degrees toward the sky to get the most sunlight possible.

So awesome. Even during power failure I still had video because my network is on a ups. But my ring flood light is ac hardwired and was down. So thankful they have the solar charge feature

I had purchased a ring camera that only had battery option. I didn't want to have to deal with replacing batteries, this recharges the battery quickly enough to not have to replace it. So far so good!

After a bit, it's a done game and you either have to tinker with it to get it to work again or just replace it. Installing it isn't too hard, but you have to remember to put it somewhere that you can get to time after time and where you know it will receive sunlight. For example, on a corner of your porch. Otherwise, you'll have a hard time getting to it when it's really hot or cold outside. If anything, put it in a window! That way, you can always access it.
