What a pleasure compared to old unit
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Yes, easy to install HOWEVER, words of warning, you may need to strip wires more than you think. That was our only glitch. We couldn't get the push in button to work to keep the wires held in tightly. Finally realized we needed to strip wires more. After that, a breeze. Setting up with app easy, intuitive, and fun. Love how the sprinklers run for maybe 5 minutes at a time and go through a sequence until total watering times are reached so there's no runoff.

Great controller and easy to install

Installation was very easy and only took about 15 minutes. App setup took longer because there are a lot of questions about each Zone to assist with creating a custom watering schedule. It has worked like a charm since then and the integration with Alexa works really well for us. Very happy with my purchase.

I have spent HOURS on the phone with Rachio. They have consistantly failed to return phone calls when they said they had to ask an elevated tech support person...After hours on the phone they got it working again from their end. Three weeks later it dropped again, this time tech support just sent me a Netgear pdf, and told me what pages to refer to. Of course that didn't work either. Now I have 2 Rachios that won't work and I'm supposed to go on vacation...

Good Product. Bad Company.

What I dislike is the overall attitude of the company and its staff. Numerous people have asked for and expected a very simple and trivial enhancement to be able to NOT turn on the pump for certain zones. As a software developer with my own software company, and more that 30 years of experience with automation and industrial process controls, their weak excuses that the "Squeaky Wheel Gets the Grease" would indicate they have selective listening, and would much rather work on much more elaborate features with a high "Nifty" value rather than getting the basic feature set compete. This was such a basic request, it almost should have been treated as a oversight or even a bug. Maybe try Rain Machine instead.
