All action. Some acting was poor. No real plot. Seems like a shooter game.

This movie was unwatchable for me. There are only a handful of movies on my "unwatchable list," and this has to be near the top, under Open Water. We watch at least two movies a week, and are quite open with most genre. I cannot even find the words to express how horribly painful it was to attempt to watch this movie. I will be giving this to someone or donating it, possibly even throwing it away. It will not make it into our extensive movie collection.

Good Kung Fu action but the plot is hard to follow, the character development could have been much better

I got a free copy of the 2nd one and the reviews of the 1st were great so I thought I'd start from the beginning but after seeming the first, i haven't bothered watching the 2nd, even though I already own it! Low budget, lame story, predictable, stupid.?:(

This movie is EASILY one of the best action films I've ever seen. Anytime they start working on an American remake AND a sequel to a movie that hasn't even come out yet, that's a good sign it's a stellar piece of work. This angers me though because this film was given the shaft and consequently few people even know it exists! Long ago this movie premiered at several film festivals and won awards at each one. Then after many obstacles they decided to do a limited U.S. release this past March. Didn't know about it? That's because the release was SO limited that there were only a couple theaters in the country that showed it! Obviously it didn't stay out long, and I've had to wait over a year for it to finally be released to the public. Fortunately I found a way to see it before it came out on DVD and Blu-ray. Do yourself a favor and either go buy it right now, or spend a buck and Redbox it because it is WELL worth it. Make sure you get the unrated version so you can bask in all the bloody and violent glory. There are subtitles, but who cares! There are also gun fights, knife fights, machete fights, hand to hand fights and death scenes like you have never seen! Sure there are some minor nitpicks, things I would have changed, but all in all this is a MUST SEE if you are a true action fan.

First note, I originally saw this in theatres as a limited release, and I have to say I've never experienced an atmosphere like that in my life. The sound, visual, and audience added to the spectacle called The Raid. Phenomenal to see in the theatre. I dont believe the excitement of watching it at home can compare, but that doesnt mean the movie isnt great at home. The story is not complicated, but effective enough to set the movie up. It gives you bread crumbs to think about why they are going to this drug compound, but doesnt ask you to think critically about details. It sets you up for action and once it starts, it never lets up. It is violent with out apologies, so if you are offended by it, then pass this up. If you can appreciate the art this movie paints with its choreography, you will lose your breath. I couldnt be more satisfied with a movie ever. Note: It defaults to English Dubbing. Go to audio settings and change it back to Indonesian 5.1 Master with English subtitles for the true voice work. English voice overs are horrible and detract from the experience.

This is the best action movie I have seen in a long time, since the first Ong Bak. The fight scenes are just awesome, especially the hand-to-hand fights. The whole movie is about 80% action and so don't go looking for a good storyline. The movie is really short too. For people who don't like to read subtitles while watching movie, there is an English dub audio. But personally I prefer to listen to the original audio even though that means I have to read.

This movie is pretty awesome! It's got some of the most realistic fight scenes that I've seen in awhile. Plenty of gun violence as well. This is one of those movies that keeps you going "Ooh!" So if you're into senseless graphic violence, then this movie is definitely for you!

If you like action and fighting sequences, you will love this movie... the first 5 min are the only slow parts of the movie. Would not watch it before bed since this movie will hype you up to the point that you won't be sleepy!
