Ok maybe I have overstated it a tiny bit. I got some problems with the execution. Are they real problems? Not really. This is the 5th film in the "franchise". If there are any surprises, then it is a masterpiece in my view. Stallone can write a story worth telling. There is no mistaking this. Think about Rocky V. This is one that is hated so much, but the whole "get up" scene and not hearing a bell, still has me jumping up with the adrenaline punch like I am still a teenager. This movie is just like that. Is it the worst in the series, I don't know, and nor do I care. It is part of a bigger story, where I am once again strapped in and just loving what I am seeing. Rambo is revenge, and there is no other way to put it. When he is killing bad guys (and yes people, these are BAD GUYS just like in RAMBO III!) and doing so in a really cool way, it makes me so happy. He has got some nice quotes, and he keeps it simple and primal. I don't know, I guess I don't look for Shakespeare in a popcorn bowl. That, and is an old dude supposed to be doing everything just so perfect? If the story grabs me, I go with it, and go with it I most certainly did. This one has all the bells and whistles. Native 4K, Dolby Vision, HDR10, Dolby Atmos. Yup another demo disc. I swear I could watch 10 more of these movies. I will sure miss Stallone one day. By the way, stick around for the post credit greatest hits. They are quite nice for those that have been there from the beginning (and those that want to know what it is all about).
