These headphones have everything you will need in a gaming headset. It is practically very dependable and reliable on top of it being easy to use and comfortable for all-day use. First of all, it has everything I need in terms of connectivity. It has a really cool USB C 2.4ghz dongle that also snugly connects to the included a USB A adapter-- take note, I said snugly, because it is so important especially when I move my PC around and do not want any unstable shaking when I put a dongle on. The option of the USB C/A helps when I need to manage my port space (like when my controller runs out of battery and I need to wire it). It also has bluetooth so I can switch. I connected this using the dongle, only because I know it is more stable this way, and have it bluetoothed with my phone so I can pick up calls without having to switch headsets, especially when I’m in the middle of a tight situation. It does not have a 3.5mm jack, which is fine for me. There is a reason I like wireless headsets—I move a lot out of frustration most of the time, and I do not want me to tug on any wires so I can “freely” express myself. The headphones are really comfortable. I can use them all day and it does not press on my glasses. It is decently light. What is most important is the COMBINATION of weight and comfort—the weight is just right to know my headphones are on, and light enough to move around, at the same time, not fear it falls out on jerking but not too tight for me to take a break from it. So Razer pretty much nailed this. The build is solid quality even with all plain hard plastic. The buttons are very easy to get used to, like the volume roller, mute button, and the special switch button (with accompanying light) to transfer to my phone when needed. Software is pretty easy. It has full customizations for lighting, options for mic monitoring, EQ adjustments (on the phone app) plus the software to add for 7.1 audio (which did not do anything special for me btw, similar to the Windows spatial audio). I keep my RGB lighting on a decent 30% with a steady blue color so it doesn’t drain battery (though I am on my 35+ hours and still going strong) without any effects. This kind of helps tell anyone entering the room to know that I am “in session” without them having to look at my monitor. Sound quality is great. It is a bit on the high side in terms of out-of-the box setting; lots of mids and highs. I toggled through the different modes—music, gaming and movie but I like the gaming mode on because of my paranoia with being flanked. The movie setting had a little bit better bass and is good for cut-scenes, but I feel like I am missing out on dialogue for some reason—I mean, it is not bad but comparing it with the separation of chat in gaming mode, I keep it on game mode. So even if there was an easy way to switch between modes, the quality difference will not be a deal breaker for me and can live with just one setting. Oh there is a custom option but I am so bad at mixing, for some reason. Chat quality is loud, as in loud. I had to turn it down a bit because I did get some complaints. Lol. I had to verify it by being on the receiving end of the conversation, and it is very loud and clear. I just had to adjust it so I don’t sound like I am about to die all the time. I tried listening to the Bluetooth mode and it sounds different with some rough texture in the output. Overall, pretty stable and good quality continuous audio and chat transmission. Maybe my only quirk is, it is not foldable by any means and I have to remove the mic attachment to easily slide it into the included bag (or to also easily take it out). Other than that, great overall build, especially for the price range. For my usual gaming, this checks 95% of my needs. I think this headset is a standard for the bigger part of the gaming population.

This new headset from Razer is top quality. The quality starts with the solid physical build relative to materials and design. The headset is very lightweight. The adjustable features work very smoothly, which I have found is something that is sometimes overlooked in many other headsets. The adjustable headband allowed me to dial in the perfect fit – tip of the cap to the Razer engineers for a great physical/ergonomic design of these headphones. The device came in perfect condition, the packing was actually above and beyond outstanding for those who want to be sure the device is received in pristine condition both electronically and physically (and I’m one of those). One exception in the quality is that the User guide with silver ink on black paper was a terrible choice, very hard to almost impossible to read. May look snappy but a bad choice by the Razer team in this area, especially for such an otherwise outstanding device. The RGB color 6-zone light-effects for the earcups were amazing. The color arrays are very eye-catching; I liked the extra bling. You should download the Synapse 4/Chroma Studio (yes it up to release 4 now), to customize lighting; and especially use the equalizer. There are other features like sleep settings too. The 40 mm speaker drivers are great but I found it necessary to smooth out the audio to my preferences for the best sound effects that suited me; this is of course a personal choice. The point is I think you must have the application installed so you can customize the sound. There are audio settings for gaming, movies or music via a button on the headset too - nice. The dual wireless is a very useful feature with Bluetooth and the 2.4GHz super-fast dongle connection. Remember you need to hit the ‘Smartswitch Dual Wireless’ button on the headset twice to connect with the dongle; I forgot, so this messed me up for a couple minutes; just a tip, ‘nuff said on that. This headset has a great rechargeable battery life of up to 70-Hours, so that is excellent.  I thought the microphone audio was fine, it utilizes the Cardioid technology so that is a big plus for clarity. This mic is also noise reducing which I found to be effective, I tested via a zoom meeting with this mic and another mic and I preferred this one that came with the Razer Barracuda. The earcups were super soft and anti-sweat – very breathable. I wore them for 3 hours straight as a first test and had no discomfort (and I wear glasses). The quality of the audio was wonderful. I liked the mix of bass and midrange and treble that these headphones could produce when adjusted via the equalizer. I highly recommend this outstanding mid-price headset for gaming, movies, and music. I especially liked the very soft earcups as my ears are sensitive. Nice job by the Razer engineering team.

This review is on a Razer - Barracuda X Chroma Wireless Multi-Platform Gaming Headset. I was really excited about this purchase due to Chroma. I was not let down by this side of the product. The chroma looks amazing and is very bright. I was guessing that it would be dim but it's not. These are light weight and feel good. They fit around my large ears and do not smash down. I have other pairs that smash down on my ears and this creates pain after long gaming sessions. I can barely feel the headband. It does not look bulky or stick out like other headsets. I love that the speakers can be rotated all the way flat, so that if I do get tired of wearing them, I can still listen with them off. They actually smell great. Connecting was easy to both PC and phone. There isn't much to the phone app other than EQ and Chroma but the PC software is just unbelievable. The whole Razer software group is what I have been looking for. There is actually 5 apps that get installed. Razer Axon has some amazing wallpapers to apply. Even motion, video and connects to Spotify to play matching music. I have a new favorite wallpaper that is just unbelievable. I was supposed to get an activation code for 7.1 but I didn't find it in the box. I registered my headset and they sent me a code. Then when I went to activate it, the code was invalid. I have a case open right now, so we will see how long this takes. Now for the bad part. I do not like the sound that is produced by this headset. My friends say that my mic audio is crystal clear. I think these are probably tuned towards voice and are great in that area. They aren't horrible but it is not what I am looking for. There is no bass and when turning up the bass in the EQ, it still doesn't reach what I want. Other than the sound, it has been an amazing experience.

Its a good headphone around less than 200$ i think

I think most people who buy from Razer are pretty aware of what they're getting at this point: Blinky lights, good quality hardware, and lots of customizability. In this, at least, the Barracuda X does very little to rock the boat. It is a versatile, comfortable, well performing headset that should be seriously considered for your next gaming setup. First let's start with the key feature of any Razer device: the RGB. Each earcup is divided into six programmable lighting zones, allowing for a variety of different effects to be programmed in. The Razer RGB utility isn't the easiest one out there to use but it is one of the most capable overall, making it very easy to integrate into a larger RGB setup. Moving past the lighting though, the headset has quite a lot to offer. The included wireless dongle is designed for USB-C, but comes with an adapter to use USB-A. In both configurations I found audio quality to be excellent. Even with a variety of other wireless peripherals I experienced no issues with syncing or dropouts, the surround sound effects were convincing, and battery life was quite good. For comfort, again I have to give the Barracuda X top marks. It seems well sized for larger heads, and fits comfortably around the ears. It does tend to heat up after a while, a problem that most high end headsets have, but I had no issue wearing it for several hours at a time. The removable boom mic can't quite compare to the convenience you get with designs offering flip up or retractable designs, particularly when you need to rapidly mute/unmute in chat, but makes up for it with superior adjustability. How much of an advantage that is will likely come down to personal preference for most, but speaking for myself I found it an acceptable trade.

The Razer Barracuda X Chroma Wireless Gaming Headset has exceeded my expectations. I have a couple of more expensive gaming headsets that sound really good so when I got these I was not expecting them to sound as good as those. However, to my surprise, the Razer Barracuda X Chroma Headphones sound very good. When I tested all of my gaming headphones they sounded the best. They have more volume yet still sound very crisp and clear with good low-end clear vocals and nice highs. Now I am wondering why the others cost more and they do not even have the RGB lighting like the Chromas. I have used them for chat and phone calls and they worked great for that as well. However, there is something going on with the mic as others have stated. I did a test where I made a phone call to my wife and at first, she said I sounded a little off but when I walked away from my phone everything cleared up. This leads me to believe the phone mic was still picking up my voice along with the mic on the headphones causing reverberation. I have not had time ti isolate the issue but it has to be a software issue. This has never happened with any of my other Bluetooth headphones or earbuds so it must be something on Razer's end. I am thinking this may be causing problems with PC’s and Consoles as well but I am not sure yet. I would just suggest making sure any other mics are off when using them. You can also be connected to your PC or console and your phone at the same time which is nice. These are very good headphones for the price that are very comfortable and lightweight. Not only that they look great and definitely punch above their class if you are going off of price.

I got these because I wanted a set of headphones for my son to game with on the computer that were similar to my older razer headphones that were a bit of a upper model, but not going to bust the budget. My other set is going on 2.5 years old and work well, the build on these seem to be solid and also light. There is a soft cloth like texture to the earpad portion on these that make them very breathable, unlike some of my standard headphones that have pleather/vinyl covering that get very hot and I get sweaty. I can wear these for hours and not complain of sweating ears. These are in a fair price point and the performance on then is very good. They connected right away with the 2.4ghz dongle. And the volume control on it worked right away. The sound is very adequate, can get very loud. These have the capability of 7.1 surround, and I used it and it works well, you get fairly good directional sound, but I uninstalled it only because it keeps the controls easier for my son to use (one less speaker system to sort through when changing from headphones to speakers). Plus, he felt it made no difference to him with and without it. For me, I can tell, but I also like the idea of simplicity. I deduct no points for our preference, it works. The color changing lights work well, easy to change in the app. The mic quality is good. Overall I do feel these are at a good price point for quality and functionality. I have had experience with sets ½ the cost and ⅔ the cost and they work well, but these do feel more comfortable the sound is better. I do reccomend these.

I've been an owner of other Razer gaming items and headsets, so I had an expectation. The Barracuda X Chroma Wireless Multi-Platform Gaming Headset with 6 Zone Earcup Lighting is a good headset for all your gaming needs. Sound is crisp and clear. The simulated 7.1 sound is accurate. You can literally hear someone sneaking up on you in-game. Quality of sound is good, though I would not recommend these for audiophiles. There's some distortion with bass, and a tinny sound with the high trebles. Gaming you wont notice and is not a detractor. The lights are fun, but do reduce battery life. With the lights on, you can still get a full day of gaming/watching tv, etc. You'll get at least 25 hours of gaming with the lights on, and about 55 or so hours with the lights off. Possibly more but I didn't push it. These are very comfortable gaming headphones. Lightweight and very adjustable. Another great thing for gaming is there is no perceptible lag. You're hearing everything in real time not matter if you're on a PC, hand held gaming system like a Switch, or on a console. One detractor, and it's why there's 4 stars form me instead of 5 is the detachable microphone. When it works it's crystal clear. The issue is you have to make sure it's fully seated in the socket. Adjust it first, then leave it alone or you risk a poor connection. Took a while to figure out for me the issue. It's frustrating for team mates not to hear you, or hear lots of static. All in all a solid performer and would recommend.

I want to like it because its great when it works but I continually have to spend too much time messing with settings to get it to work properly everytime i want to play with voice chat in game. Not sure why or how but its either Bluetooth or the dongle connection that causes the issue. I had to stop using the nice when it works or doesnt cause me issues, audio enhancement THX feature.

I'll start this by saying i'm a huge razer fan and i have been using their product dating back to 2013. This headset is extremely poorly made the audio was choppy from first use the mic is nearly unusable overall complete garbage buy a different headset for the price

These are some decent headphones. They come with a decent number of cables and other accessories. The additional accessories in the box included a braided 60W cable, a USB-C to 2.4 GHz adapter for PC and mobile, and a USB-A to USB-C adapter for devices without a USB-C port. It would be nice if they included an adapter since most computers don't support fast charging at 60W, but it makes sense that one isn't included. The first time I put them on, I was surprised at how comfortable they were. I played some videos and also loved the sound quality. I also love how the microphone is detachable since I have a separate microphone. The main problem I have with this, however, is not the audio quality or comfort. It's the fact that using these made my head hurt within 5 minutes. Even though I regularly use Bluetooth earphones, something about these headphones gave me a headache. I'm not sure if that's a one-off thing with me, but if you're sensitive to wireless products then definitely don't purchase these unless you're planning on using the wired option. Overall, these are a decent pair of comfortable headphones with some minor quirks.

Can wireless really work as well as a wired headset? If you’re Razer, you’ll make sure these can. The set comes with a USB-C adapter operating on 2.4Ghz to ensure all the bandwidth you need is available. If you don’t have a spare C port, there’s also a USB-A converter included. To go portable, these also have a Bluetooth connection which sounds near (but not quite) as good. There’s no active noise cancellation, but they still do a decent job of blocking out ambient sounds. Razer includes a license for their virtual 7.1 audio software. I used the set up with Forza and while watching a movie. Both experiences left me totally immersed in what I was involved in. I have a nice widescreen curved monitor which fills my vision, so the headset added to the experience. The microphone is easily adjustable and picks up voice well while rejecting other background sounds. No concerns at all from those on the other side of the line! It wouldn't be a gaming set without lights. Razer’s app makes you create an account to use any of the features. There’s easy logins connected with popular social media apps, which makes linking your accounts with Razer easy. Setting up the lights can only be done if the headset is connected with the included dongle, but it works really well when it’s all put together. There’s a number of presets to choose from for different light shows. Razer also has a studio app, allowing for custom designs for your close ups. Razer’s family of gaming accessories continues to expand. The Barracuda Chroma X is a lightweight, wireless option which gives a little flair and a lot of functionality. If the software was a little friendlier, this would be an unqualified hit. I hope Razer makes the fixes which are needed so everyone can enjoy.

I was pleasantly surprised by how nice this headset has been. In the past, all the wireless headsets with RGB lighting have had pretty middling battery life. I was impressed by how long the battery lasts on this headset, even with the lights on. Considering I have a tendency to forget to put everything on the charger on a daily basis, this has been really helpful with keeping my gaming sessions from getting disrupted. As far as other aspects of the headset go, I haven't come up with anything I particularly dislike. The microphone is decent quality, I've had no issues with signal dropping whether on Bluetooth or the USB adapter, and it's fairly comfortable and doesn't hurt my ears. The ear cups do a decent job at muffling external sound. One thing I found really interesting about this headset is that it doesn't seem to have it's own volume. Adjusting the volume wheel brings up the volume adjustment indicator on Windows, for instance. I've never really been a fan of having to keep track of multiple volume wheels, and I tend to reach for different ones depending on what I'm doing, so having them linked like that is really nice. Overall, I like this headset, and I would absolutely recommend it; especially for someone who prefers to have all the volume knobs linked together. That's just a really nice feature.

The Razer - Barracuda X Chroma Wireless Multi-Platform Gaming Headset is an absolutely fantastic wireless gaming headset. Razer does not sacrifice quality audio in any way on this new headset. Let's start with the ergonomics of this headset. The clamping force of the headset is just right. I even sometimes forget that I am wearing it while I am gaming that is how comfortable it is. The padding is nice and fits all sizes of ears, especially mine which are huge. Moving down to the connectivity. It is powered by a tiny wireless USB-C dongle, with the ability to adapt to USB-A if your device doesn't support USB-C. The design of the headset is sleek and professional. The microphone audio is pretty good for a wireless headset, by no means will it replace a dedicated studio mic but for game communications it is more than enough! The audio quality of the Barracuda X is fantastic. The power of the drivers in each ear had me actually needing to turn down the audio sometimes because it was too loud. The spatial awareness especially while playing an FPS game was incredible and helped me get even better situational awareness! All in all this is a a reliable choice for a new gaming headset and I'd recommend it to anyone looking for one!

I am going to assume that the good folks over at Razer have made no attempt at thinking about the size of the people who use their gear. I'm kidding. Still having flashbacks from their gaming controller. 😉 The headset feels pretty good. Played a few hours of Ghost Recon Breakpoint and didn't really notice them on my head after a while. They sound great and the mic is decent. No one complained about it. My old mic was hot garbage so it was noticeable when I was using a new one. These are built well, they don't feel like they were thrown together as a cash grab. The RGB is cool I guess. Not a selling point for me but I am sure it will be for others. I use these with my cellphone to listen to music and watch movies and I am impressed by the quality then as well. A EQ is always handy to have in a pinch to tweak them though. Battery life is good but I don't have the RGB on so battery life for those who like the lights will definitely vary. Overall I would recommend picking these up. They are lightweight and sound good.

To say I have owned a lot of headsets would be like saying water is wet. I've owned more headsets than I can even recall, and gaming headsets chief among them, so impressing me is difficult in this area. Packaging: To start, packaging is as expected, it's standard razer green with an image of the headset. It includes the wireless dongle with an adapter for type-C to type-A USB for different platforms, a detachable mic, and a charging cable. Setup: Set up is staightforward, as it needs to be, since it's designed for use with many platforms. If you're using the headset with a phone you can connect via bluetooth and control the colors with the app. If you connect to your computer you can connect via bluetooth or the USB dongle and control the colors with Razer Synapse or Razer Audio. Use: The big thing they push with this is the ease of switching audio. There's a button on the side that switches it from 2.4GHz to Bluetooth and the capability of having both connected at once for 'convenience'. I'm not sure who out there does this but I don't and I don't know anyone that does, but I'm also not a console gamer, so maybe someone that switches between consoles or from PC to console would find that useful, I just don't. The audio quality itself is outstanding, the 7.1 audio inside the earcups gives you a true sense of positional awareness in games that can utilize it (I can tell when someone is coming from whichever direct in Counter-Strike... Yes it might be an older game, but it still helps). Setting the colors is easy and it ties into the entire Razer ecosystem, so syncing it up to the other Razer devices is seamless. I already had Razer Synapse on my PC due to using a Razer mouse and keyboard. I will say in the use that I don't love the detachable microphone, it's long and it gets in the way and it's one more piece that might get lost. Many of the headsets these days have fold up mics that wont get lost and dont feel like they are in the way. The audio from it is good, others say I sound clean through it, I just don't like the style. There is one confusing piece for me with this headset. Razer owns THX, yet this headset isn't THX certified, which feels like a miss for me. The THX name carries a lot of weight in the audio world and for them to not make their own device up to the certification seems off. That said it does have 7.1 audio built in the cups and it sounds great... Again just an oddity. Overall: It's not a bad headset, the audio from it is good, but I don't love the detachable mic and the missing THX is odd. That said, if you know what you're getting in to and the switchable audio connection is useful to you, then it's likely a good option.
