Loud and clear
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Works great. Excellent volume and clarity. Holds charge for many hours. Soundproofing excellent (in fact have to leave one earpiece partly off my ear to hear myself talk. I've been using with jack and haven't tried in wireless mode yet.

Affordable and portable.
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very lightweight and simple to use. Surround settings are kinda sparse for a headset at this price. Works great as a primary headset but even better on the go with the laptop.

With the money
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. There aren’t a lot of options for wireless headphones to use with a switch. I was glad to find these. I got them on sale for $65. For a wireless option the price was not as expensive as compared to others in the market.

Great for teenage son
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I brought these for my 13 year old to use on his gaming PC and he absolutely loves them. They are very comfortable, adjustable, and the microphone is in a great position. No my 12 year old wants these for his PS4.

Standard Look, But Good Performance
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Razer Barracuda X is a headset with a basic appearance, but still gives a decent performance. While the "look" department seems to lack, there is something to be appreciated by the "feel". For starters, the headset does rest comfortably during long periods of gameplay or other leisurely activities. Also, the plastic does feel sturdy. Don't get me wrong. The Barracuda X is not ugly, but its appearance is lackluster. Still, I do appreciate the removeable mic which makes the headset look less awkward in public. Speaking of the microphone... that is biggest disappointment thus far. It's below average in quality. There are other minor things that irk me such as no RGB, color choices, equalizer functionality, or Xbox Support. However, the Razer compensates for those things through functionality/ability in this product. For using this headset, you will receive great out-of-the-box audio, wireless capability for other platforms, and good battery life. Overall, the Barracuda X is enjoyable for the listening experience rather than the speaking. Despite the poor mic, I would still recommend this product because it does have decent list of features for what it can do rather than what it doesn't do. Pros: - Great audio quality - Detachable Mic - Excellent battery life - USB adapter for situations in which the dongle doesn't fit - Wired & Wireless Capabilities Cons: - Bad microphone - No RGB/Color Choices for the Headset - No Xbox support (Wireless)

Worth the $$
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Sound is great - clear & crisp. Mic is not too sensitive, but picks up nicely when positioned properly. Does get a little heavy on the ears after a while, but that's true for most headphones. I recommend!

Incredible value for a quality headset
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Razer Barracuda X is an awesome value for a great quality, comfortable headset. It is advertised as a 4 in 1 wireless headset, and for the most part it delivers on that promise. The key to this headset is that it has a little USB-C dongle that allows you to use the headset with pretty much any device that supports a standard USB audio device. It comes with a (fairly long) adapter cable that connects to USB-A ports as well, so it works with desktop PCs that don't always have easily accessible USB-C ports. The design of the headset is really discrete and with the mic detached doesn't scream "GAMER" if you want to use it for music listening on the go. It's also lightweight and the memory foam pads are comfortable to wear even with glasses. I also want to draw special attention to how premium the packaging felt - each cable and part comes in a small foam padded bag that really was a great touch. One thing I found surprising is that the Barracuda X actually supports Razer's two virtual 7.1 surround apps for PC - both the free 'basic' 7.1 surround sound app (you have to register the headset and then you get an activation code) and the THX spatial sound app which is about 20 bucks. If you go to the webpage for their 7.1 surround app, the Barracuda X is advertised there, but on the Barracuda X itself there isn't any designation about this feature. I imagine this is because the 7.1 surround is only possible on PC and not on Android, Switch, or PlayStation. Either way, it's a welcome feature that adds a lot to the PC experience. Using with Android, Switch or PS4 is also pretty seamless. You just connect the USB-C adapter either directly to the Switch in handheld mode (or Android device), or using the USB-A adapter cable with the dock or the PS4. The mic works as expected (and has great quality and noise reduction), even in phone calls on my Note 20. Other than for Android gaming I don't expect much use out of the Razer headset since it requires the dongle and doesn't support bluetooth - this is a minor tradeoff as the dongle fixes issues with every other platform. I really loved the Barracuda X with my Switch - being able to use them wirelessly is a lot more flexible, and you can always use the included 3.5mm cable to plug them in if you need to charge at the same time. Sound quality wise, the Barracuda X is not an audiophile grade headset and as such I didn't expect it to sound like one. It sounds well balanced for gaming audio and some music listening - but there is a little distortion if you use bass-heavy EQ settings. Honestly the bass is pretty good without being overdone by default so I don't see the need to add bass boost to these. Otherwise I found the audio to be pleasant with a wide soundstage for a closed over the ear headset. THX Spatial Audio (an optional $$ add on for PC) adds even more depth and directional audio to the soundstage so definitely check that out if you pick this up for PC use.

Pretty good for the price
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Amazing audio quality but can be a bit annoying to wear at times. Wireless connection can be a bit touchy with phones but other than that works great.

Defective out of the box
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought two of these headsets during the Black Friday deals, I saw multiple good reviews online and thought they were perfect for our Christmas presents. Once these headsets were opened and tested it was odd that people couldn't hear us when playing or using then on the computer for calls, worst thing is that it was the same issue with both headsets after googling a lot seems that some of these devices have the same problem where the mic doesn't pick sound or is very low. I've contacted Razer via chat and email support and their agents are useless, they cannot even read what I tell them and ask me questions like, have you tested them in another device even when the first thing I said was I tested in 4 different devices. Last person who gave me support told me they would sent me the steps to be replaced, two days later I get nothing on my email so I went back to check my case and surprise!!!! my ticket has nothing noted from what I was told on the chat. When reaching back to support I'm now asked for the agent support person who I spoke to and didn't care to make notes in my case. I'm really disappointed on RAZER service, hope this review is useful to other people.
