I don’t notice much lag from it being wireless. The battery has lasted so long on it as well. I can use for hours on end and won’t have soreness

I have been using Razer products for over a decade including mice, keyboards, and mobile phones, and like most Razer fans I have to admit that Razer products have been less than great in the recent years: Too heavy, poor performing, and overpriced when compared to competing products which has allowed companies like Logi-tech, Steel Series, and Corsair to compete for the top spot. I am proud to say Razer has gone back to the roots with the Basilisk X Hyperspeed and created a truly great product once again. No fancy LEDs and no gorgeous boxes but what you get instead is an excellent performing, excellent handling, well featured and REASONABLY PRICED gaming mouse. The first three things are common among the top spot products in the the gaming segment but actually GOOD products in this market can fetch upwards of $100. The Basilisk X Hyperspeed reminds me of a full sized version of the original (2006) Razer Orochi which is still my favor Razer mouse of all time, and which I still use when I travel. This mouse runs in Bluetooth and 2.4Ghz mode. It's battery operated so no rechargeable battery and recharging dock (good riddens) which helps with weight, and although Razer says only the 2.4Ghz mode is recommended for high-response gameplay the Bluetooth mode performs extremely well. Razer has applied a matte finish black to the top and grippy textures to the sides (no more grooves) which resists dust and dirt more than previous finishes. The button clicking is satisfying and tracking is extremely precise and accurate. It has 5 programmable DPI modes and the mouse wheel is tactile and adjustable as well. All customizations are done through the Razer Synapse 3 software but for the first time (that I am aware of) in years all settings are stored on the mouse itself and still work if you need to shut down Synapse 3 (which causes tracking problems in some legacy games). I can't speak to how long the battery lasts just yet but after 15+ hours of use the battery icon indicates more than 90% battery life remaining. That is truly remarkable when compared to my Razer Lancehead and Razer Mamba wireless which could barely last 8 hours with regular use. I can't recommend the Razer Basilisk Ultimate due to price and truly obnoxious LED options but for great performance and a great feeling mouse I can recommend the Razer Basilisk X Hyperspeed. It's true, the Razer Basilisk is very similar to the Logitech G502 in shape and size but IMO the Razer is lighter and more responsive and at less than half the price you owe it to yourself to try it first.

A bit expensive for a cheap mouse.

I bought the Razer mouse because I am sick and tired of replacing broken Logitech equipment. Instead, I now own the Basilisk. Pros: It is responsive and functions vrtually instantly in USB mode. It's very light and easy to move. Cons: Price. $50 is ludicrous for this mouse. Mice should be cheap; they are very basic technology, and you can get a perfectly functional one for les than $30. The Basilisk is made horribly cheaply, and those buttons on the left are simply not going to last. Additionally, I keep catching the battery lid (on the top of the mouse) with my sleeve and popping it up, because it was apparently designed by people who don't use mice. Battery usage is horrible. It goes through them like fighter jet goes through fuel. Finally, trying to use the BT option as a way to save batteries is problematic. The directions to activate BT function (instead of doing it automatically, like every other piece of technology I own) cannot be followed as written. Submit a support request and you are likely to be directed to the page... with the same directions. If you got it to work, congratulations. However, there are forums full of people who haven't been able to make it work. All in all, I've decided to stay away from Razor. Why? If they can't even get this right, I really don't need to do business with them.

    Comfortable mouse with one problem

Comfortable mouse. The only issue that makes this a 3-4 star mouse is that after ~5 minutes of idle time, sometimes (not all the time) the mouse will stop responding to the wireless receiver. Turning it off and back on doesn’t solve the problem, you have to open it up and remove the battery and put it back in. The mouse is not far away from the USB receiver, the batteries have been replaced, I’ve given it time to “wake up” from some sort of sleep mode- nothing I can do to prevent this happening a few times per week.

I'm quite happy with how this mouse feels and clicks! Its really durable and lightweight, but also very supportive, even of the thumb due to the ridge. Having buttons to the side along with the two clicker buttons is always a plus! Especially with how the thumb is supported to hit the buttons reliably. Sometimes the button hit may mistake itself for the other button, but that's kinda to be expected when they're side to side.
