Once properly EQ'd, the audio can be very similar to more expensive SteelSeries headsets for $100 cheaper. If you don't adjust the EQ it is very bass heavy and can distort sounds in some games. It also has one of the best mics I have ever heard on a headset. The quality of the mic rivals other $50 standalone mics, while still managing to be slim and detachable. The stock earmuffs are also very comfortable and the design of the headset seems like it should last for years to come. The battery life also lasts for multiple days without charging, and when you do finally have to charge it, you can have a full charge in about 30 minutes.

Pros: - Comfortable, even during prolonged use - Excellent audio performance - Impressive mic quality - EQ profiles pre-loaded - 70-hour battery life Cons: - None ----- DETAILS ----- Design & Comfort: With its lightweight design and comfy earcups, the BlackShark V2 Pro can be on my head for hours without discomfort. The clamping force feels just right, and I can wear glasses comfortably with the headset. Since I use the BlackShark V2 Pro for both work and gaming, comfort during hours of use is huge for me. You’ll find the USB Type C charging port, boom microphone jack, microphone mute switch, power button, and volume knob on the left earcup. The right earcup just has one button, but it has multiple functions. Pressing it once changes the selected EQ preset. In standard EQ mode, there are game, movie, music, and custom presets. Holding the EQ button down for three seconds switches the headset to eSports EQ mode where you can swap between presets designed for Fortnite, Valorant, Apex Legends, Call of Duty, and CS:GO. The same button is also used to switch between the 2.4 GHz connection or Bluetooth. As for build quality, the BlackShark V2 Pro strikes a good balance between lightweight and durable. The headband is flexible, and the earcup sliders are thin but made of stainless steel. Though the earcups are just plastic, they feel solid. Audio Performance: The BlackShark V2 Pro has crystal-clear audio and rich bass. The default EQ profile is pretty balanced. To me, it seems to favor the mids and highs and leaves a little to be desired in terms of bass, but that can be easily adjusted in the Razer Synapse software (more on that later). Whether I’m exploring an open-world single-player game like Red Dead Redemption 2 or competing with other players in a game like Call of Duty, I’m often pleasantly surprised by the level of detail and immersive surround sound produced by the BlackShark V2 Pro. In a game like Call of Duty, hearing faint noises like footsteps can be a significant advantage. Using either the 2.4 GHz connection or Bluetooth, I haven’t experienced any loss of audio or other connectivity issues. Mic Quality: The first time I used the BlackShark V2 Pro headset during a remote work meeting, one of my teammates commented that my voice sounded like it changed to high definition. I had previously used another Razer headset, and my teammates were impressed by the drastic improvement. I recorded my voice to listen for myself, and I agreed with my teammates. The mic quality is exceptional. Features & Software: To custom-tune the sound equalizer, you’ll need to install the Razer Synapse software. If you don’t have it already, you should be prompted to install it once you insert the USB dongle and power on the headset. If you don’t get a prompt, it’s easy to download from Razer’s website. It only takes a few minutes to install. In Razer Synapse, you can set up custom profiles for specific apps and games. As I previously mentioned, there are also pre-built profiles for popular games like Fortnite, Valorant, Apex Legends, Call of Duty, and CS:GO. The pre-built profiles come loaded into the headset itself, so Razer Synapse isn’t required to use or swap between the profiles. You simply hold the EQ button on the headset down for three seconds to activate eSports EQ then tap once to switch between the game profiles. When trying out the Fortnite and Call of Duty game profiles for each of those games, I did notice that footsteps, weapon swapping, reloading, and other faint noises seemed to stand out more. I’m not a pro gamer, so I need all the help I can get. Beyond the EQ settings, there are quite a few other useful settings in Razer Synapse as well, such as mic volume normalization, sound normalization, and power saving (the ability to set the auto turn-off duration). Battery Life: With around 70 hours of battery life, I’ve barely had to think about charging the BlackShark V2 Pro. If you solely use the Bluetooth connection, Razer says you could get up to 90 hours. In addition to gaming, I use this headset for working remotely. During meeting-heavy weeks, I’d typically drain most (if not all) of the battery on my previous headset. I think the average battery life of it was around 24 hours. Now, with the BlackShark V2 Pro, I should be able to consistently get two or more weeks of use on one charge. What makes it even better is that charging is fast. Comfortable, great sound and eq, most importantantly lets not forget how they last me all day. I really do mean all day, some days up to 16 hours of gaming. The only reason I'm not giving it a 5 out of 5 was after doing a little digging, i ended having to hook it up to a pc to get all the bells and whistles going. Im older and pc illiterate lol. Im a console gamer and prefer to not invole something comlicated like a pc. I would recommend these but let it be know a pc is needed to get everything it has to offer.

If you’re thinking you might have a weird form of déjà vu seeing a product that looks very familiar but costs significantly more then no worries. It’s not your mind playing tricks on you, it’s that Razer re-used the excellent base design of their previous Blackshark V2 design, they just removed the wires (among other very nice upgrades). It’s a smart choice, since I used the original set for at least a year and found the design to be very comfortable for prolonged gaming sessions! If you’re unfamiliar with the previous design, Razer has made a very sturdy, but light and comfortable headset with breathable fabric and memory foam pads. They are extremely flexible, but don’t get ‘loose’ with extended use. With the increased price tag comes significant improvements in other areas—name sound and mic quality. The speakers are a slight improvement over the previous model and sound very crisp and clear, with 7.1 THX supported for ‘directional gaming’ sounds (though, like most headsets, the low end bass sounds aren’t great—more a limitation of headsets in general, as these sound terrific otherwise). It’s pretty cool in practice, since it really sounds like there are things behind you, beside you, etc, and it’s fairly easy to pinpoint where a sound is coming from in shooters, etc (hugely important for gaming). These are true wireless, Bluetooth headphones that work very well with no noticeable delay between picture and sound. The PS5 doesn’t support Bluetooth (somehow) so a dongle is provided for use with the system. Even across the room from the system there was no noticeable delay between picture and sound. The mic is probably the biggest improvement over the old model. In my playback tests my voice was clear and easily understood even at low levels. My test calls received the same response from the people I called—I even had one friend mention he would have no idea I was on a headset if I hadn’t told him. If you’re already part of the ‘Razer-verse’ then you likely already have the Razer Synapse program installed on your gaming rig. If you don’t, it’s a nice program designed to make all of the Razer products you own ‘sync’ with each other. It also has controls for individual items such as color selection to ‘sync’ the colors on each product (even including their RAM if your PC has a ‘window’), mouse button assignments and much, much more. For the headset it has equalizer adjustments and settings—best thing about this is you can ‘save’ your favorite to the headset! It will carry over if you connect to PS5, and also means you don’t automatically have to open Synapse each time you want to change your EQ settings (and can still be switched to other settings via the headset controls). If you don’t want to bother with a new program on your computer then the good news is that it is not necessary in order to use the headphones. Overall this is a fantastic high-end headset for gaming. If you are in the market for a product like this I highly recommend them—If you’re already in the ‘Razer-verse’ then this is another stellar product that will sync nicely with your other Razer devices.

As I have tried out, it works perfect with my PS5, and also Valve SteamDeck (through the official Valve Steam Deck Dock) by using the USB 2.4 GHz Receiving Dongle. Regarding the cosmetics and the look/feel of the headset, its feels a bit lighter compared to another headset that I own as its doesn't feel or look bulky all around. What I indeed do indeed like, is the volume knob which is easy to find by touch/feel, unlike a rocker or volume wheel which can be uneasy to find by touch or there may be another rocker wheel that is around the same area but either on the side or below/above; This volume knob is perfect. There is also a mute button for the microphone for easy mute and unmute, as opposed to where some headsets don't have a mute button but only to fold up the mic to turn it off and fold it down to turn the mic on. Also the mic is removable. Another feature I like is the EQ button on the right side (or Smartswitch to toggle between Bluetooth and the 2.4 Dongle Audio Source by holding the button down for a specific amount of time). Currently the presets are Game, Music, Movie and Custom - from what I understand you need this Synapse Software to create Custom Presets. Unfortunately for the time being, I have a Mac and that Synapse software is Windows 10/11 only (Soon I'll have an Asus Rog, handheld gaming PC with Win 11). I did game a couple of Sessions on PS5 playing COD MW II and its sounds good so far - Bass seems good enough if the volume is not too high, and on the Movie sound preset profile, and of course good surround sound to hear what's coming or what's around. But its only a matter of time to create a custom EQ profile soon once I get a Win 11 handheld gaming pc and embed it into the Headset - But Razer should look into consideration if at all possible to make Synapse for iOS, or have this specific Blackshark headset model included in the compatibly for using this other iOS app called Razer Audio (though the app ratings aren't doing too well). Next, I have tried this on my SteamDeck (its a Linux handheld gaming console that runs some PC games from Steam), through their official USB-C/thunderbolt dock that has a number of usb ports and I have also plugged in the 2.4ghz receiver into the available port. It does show up as the audio output source choice in settings; Went ahead and played Deadspace 2 - well it's scarier with the surrounding audio and especially on the Movie EQ setting. Later on played a bit of Halo Infinite and also awesome boom and gunning sounds as well. Overall, it is a great headset for both console and PC, especially customizable EQ settings and the volume knob along with the removable microphone are a couple of things I praised which my older headset didn't have.

Long battery life, comfortable for long gaming sessions (over 4 hours). It needs a visible mute button - Volume is decent ...my hyperx sounded better but the cups started flaking off after less than a year.

The headset feels very strudy and well built. Easy set up. Sounds great. Very good battery life. Extremely comfortable. I am very happy with the purchase.

Sound quality and microphone quality is top tier. I’ve tried many headsets in my life and I keep coming back to the Razer Blackshark for the best all around experience. Comfort, reliability, sound, software are all better than similarly priced competitor headsets. There is 1 thing that can be improved upon (reason for 4/5) - the thin metal wires that adjust the headset height are a little loose so you do have to readjust the height of the ear cups after a while due to them sliding down the wires.

This headset does everything I wanted it to do. I usually don't use headsets for gaming, but I wanted a surround sound feeling without all the speakers around my room so decided to jump into a headset. It sounds great, there are some great presets and one of the sound options you can quickly change to on your headset is a customized option. The bass is solid which was important to me. I needed a wireless headset and this is that and it has a very long battery life. It also allows me to connect using bluetooth in case I want to use it off my PC. It's surprisingly comfortable and lightweight. The quality is great as well and I think the price is fair.

Had it for a week so far. I had a wired razer mic before, the $70 one for about 5 years. So far everyone on discord says my voice sounds MUCH better and I have no connectivity issues throughout my entire 2000 sqft house. Sounds quality is great like the last ones I had, but it’s not studio quality or anything. If you’re getting this headset it’s for great mic quality while having the all in one wireless headset with good sound and connectivity.

I needed a new pair of headphones after my little puppy tore up the cord on the other I had.Decided to go back to this brand because I loved it.And my old headphones lasted me for a good three years before the incident with my dog. The sound quality on them is amazing. The feel is perfect and I love the fact that although it does have a mic on it, it is detachable which is great. Definitely, will be buying from this brad again

Really liking the sound, the ear cups fit over my ears nicely, the cloth ear cups is a good quality and feel over leather or pleather, some good presets for game movie music, used on my laptop and ps5, been told it has good mic sound quality too

The headset is plenty comfortable, and I went hours with no complaints. Honestly, when I game there are two feature that are important to me. The first is audio quality, and the ability to custom equalize your audio. The Razer app that you get for PC does in fact give you that ability, and while that is more a software problem and not a hardware problem, it is still important to me to note that the equalizer isn’t exceptional. Settings don’t always save and it isn’t always outputting what it says. The second is the ability to monitor my own voice. I want to be able to hear myself when I talk so I don’t feel like I have to yell when my ears are covered. Like before, the Razer app does have this feature, but it is not good at all. Where the voice audio that the mic outputs is fantastic, the monitoring for it sound like talking through a walky talky. I can manage and its not the worst problem, I just know that they can do better. I assume all razer products sharing this software would have the same issue. All of that said, it is a very good headset.

THE BREAKDOWN: The Razer BlackShark V2 Pro is a great headset for wireless gaming. The microphone is great and the has a solid wireless performance. The headset itself if mostly made of plastic, it has wireframe hinges and a thick cushioned headband. This headset doesn’t have any LED’s it does have a subdued logo as it is focused on gaming. I would say that this headset is very comfortable. It has memory foam ear pads wrapped in a breathable fabric which helps with heat building up on those long gaming sessions. On the headset there are only a few buttons, mic mute, power button, volume control knob, razor smart switch (dual wireless Bluetooth and 2.4GHz) and audio profile switcher. This headset connects using a 2.4Ghz USB RF dongle or via Bluetooth. You can charge this headset with USB-C port. Overall, to get this headset setup is fairly easy. The battery life is excellent and comes in at 70 hours on a single full charge. The microphone is excellent and with the Razer Synapse software you get a plethora microphone options. The sound was simply amazing, with the TriForce Titanium 50mm drivers made the sound amazing. This also has Pro-Tuned FPS audio profiles that are tuned with some of the top e-sports athletes giving you a competitive edge. You can switch to these profiles for Valorant, Apex Legend, Call of Duty, Counter-Strike: GO and Fortnite. You can also fine tune it your own way using the software. PRO’s: - Absolutely stunning sound quality - Solid build and premium design - Audio profiles - Battery life CON’s: - No notches on the volume wheel SUMMARY: Overall, this product worked as intended, and I would recommend this to a friend if they were in the market for an item like this.

This headset definitely impressed me. Compared to my previous headset, this has more than double the battery life, the addition of Bluetooth connectivity, and way more options than I was expecting. With the Razer Synapse app is how you control and unlock the true potential of this headset. There is the typical sound and EQ settings, but then you can go beyond that with app-specific EQ profiles to start. Then you can turn on options such as normalization, bass boost, and incoming voice clarity effects. While that is great, then we move onto the mic area... Typically most headsets do not have much customization in this field, but Razer added all the options. In addition to volume/normalization options, you can choose to gate your voice, similar to the activation threshold in most voice chat programs. Furthermore, you can apply your own EQ to your outgoing voice, and finally also enable sidetone with a customizable level of monitoring. On the headset itself, the cushions are very comfortable and breathable - in my testing I never felt like my ears were getting hot or sweaty like some other headsets I've tested. Having a button to mute the mic is great, although some other brands go a step further with a beep or visible light on the mic itself. The entire headset feels surprisingly light, and with the wireframe mounts the earcups are very adjustable. The volume knob on the side is a nice touch, though it is a software knob without any detents/clicks. Something to consider for the next version would be perhaps having it be hardware controlled with a set min/max, and perhaps being able to push in/click the knob to mute. Charging was fast via USB-C, and the battery lasts forever in the week I have been testing it. Using this with my desktop has been instant and the sound quality has been great - be it playing games like Destiny, Diablo, or just listening to Spotify while working, there has been no shortage of balanced bass, mid, and treble. In the few short Zoom calls I have done, the other parties have told me they could hear me clearly. All in all, this headset is a great product with lots of flexibility and is a jack of all trades without any significant issues. A real home run!

Very light, easy to wear for long periods of time. My favorite part is how smooth and easy it is to adjust the headset to fit to your head. The sound is good for gaming but is just okay for listening to music (not a big deal since I just use them for gaming 90% of the time)

Amazing headset, audio quality is very good and really nice customizing options through the razer app. And the mic is also insanely good especially for a heatset mic. It definitely beats expectations in everyway possible. I have no complaints about this headset at all. Only negative I can think about is price cuz is a little expensive but its def worth it, you get what you pay for the quality is tops

I tried thease for a few weeks and i really enjoyed then while i gad them. Ultimately i didn’t use them enough for mg use case but there is few better options that hit all thease marks: Comfert: fits a wider range of heads thag the arctis line. Build quality: mostly plastic, but high quality plastic makes it really light and feels fairly durable. Sound:  fairly balance, tuning, and great imaging for gaming. Soundstage is a little bit narrow, but expected for a closed back at this price. i’m a little bit biased, but I wouldn’t use this as my primary music listening headphones. But it’s very capable with its tuning and driver setup. i’ve also tried the arctis, nova pro wireless( which is raved as being the best gaming headset on the market other than the Maxwell but for 150 less, I think this is a better value buy a lot 

The sound is really good and has different settings. The mic for you to talk is very clear and a huge upgrade from the old version. Definitely would recommend and the battery lasts forever!

This has to be my favorite headset purchase of all time! Out of the box it doesn't sound that great, but once you mess with the EQ settings to find the right settings for you this thing is AMAZING. Fits comfortably for long gaming sessions and has great battery life. Would definitely recommend.
