If you subscribe to the idea that keyboards are just keyboards, you need to try this one out. In addition to being one of the best mechanical keyboards out there, the Chroma edition of the Black Widow is probably one of the coolest things I've ever seen. Being able to individually light each key whatever color you want is such an amazing feature that I'm surprised it took this long to come out. If you're in doubt if an expensive keyboard is worth it, trust me, pull the trigger and you won't be disappointed.

Awesome keyboard!! Some may not like the clicks the buttons make but I personally enjoy the sound when I'm typing. The lighting effects can be customized or set to one of Razer's presets. Very easy to use.

If you're looking for a keyboard with a ton of macro buttons for all games this is the best you can buy.The right gaming keyboard ultimately comes down to the right feel while you’re playing. Razer is a fantastic mechanical gaming keyboard for the price.

So first off I'm coming from a BlackWidow Ultimate. When this keyboard had come out I was totally excited for the chroma configuration and the fact that you can even download profiles from the internet to put on your very colorful keyboard. One of my favorite things about this keyboard is not actually the color, its how quiet the keys are. The BlackWidow that i had before this had keys that were so loud that you could not even hear my voice when i was playing online or you could tell when i was really getting into a game because you could hear the intensity of my key strokes. Anyway I know it seems funny to replace on already great keyboard but if you want something that you can customize to the color scheme of your rig then I would totally would recommend going with this keyboard not just for its color range but also for its reliability and not to mention its a Razer.

I put a lot of thought into what kind of mechanical keyboard I was going to buy. Really good ones cost between $100 and $200 and I didn't want to make the wrong purchase. I thought I wanted a Logitech because I'd been buying their mice on and off for years. Once I learned about the many switch types, the Romer-G switches I learned are based on Cherry MX-Brown, silent with no tactile feedback. I was hoping for Cherry-MX Blue, clicky with a bit of feel on actuation. The Razer BlackWidow line with its proprietary Razer Green switches seemed to be what I was looking for. After more research I learned that Razer wasn't necessarily the best 2 years ago, but they seem to have turned things around. So far I've had this keyboard for almost 2 weeks and it may be a placebo effect, but I am enjoying playing games with mouse and keyboard more now, despite playing games on a controller most of the time. I like the weight and feel of the keyboard itself. It has USB pass through, so now I can plug my controller in closer to me and I don't have to extend 9' cable from my tower. As I'm not used to having such an advanced keyboard, I have yet to attempt to set any macros, but the feature set looks robust from the Synapse software. I have however made custom color schemes for the lighting. I set a few games to light up only keys that I use, but most of the time I have a diagonal rainbow effect going on. It was distracting and not that easy on the eyes at first, but after a few days, I've gotten used to it and instead of just setting it on the "rainbow" scheme I made to show it off, I just leave it there as I use the keyboard outside games. The only gripe I have so far is the volume and media keys. But that is mainly from the previous keyboard I used. It had dedicated volume keys, but this one has volume mapped to F keys, however a FN key has to be pressed. It is kind of a hassle to have to press the FN key and then adjust or mute volume. But as I said before, my previous keyboard had dedicated buttons. If it did not, I don't think this would have been an issue. All in all this feels like a $170 keyboard. However I paid $120, so I can't say for sure what it is actually worth. I just know I'm happy with my purchase.

I bought my keyboard a few weeks ago. WOW! Not only does it look wild with all the colors, it pairs great with all my other Razer products. One thing that I DIDN"T expect from the product was for it to increase my typing speed. Not just in gaming, but also just for everyday use. I have owed many other boards ergos and flat styles. This is the BEST EVER! My every first Razer product was the Tartarus, I was so impressed that I picked up the keyboard a few weeks later. Then today I picked up the Naga Limited Green mouse. Great job Razer for bringing us the product we need and can use not only in the wild world of gaming, but in everyday use.

This keyboard is amazing and i will soon buy a razer mouse as well to make my razer collection bigger! i had a steel series keyboard and this is 100 times better than it! Thank you for making such great products

I recently purchased Razer's BlackWidow and I have to admit that this product has far surpassed my expectations for a gaming mechanical keyboard. The aesthetics is excellent, great tactile feedback, and its durability is everlasting. At first I was unsure. The $170.00 price tag was very scary and it made me question if it was worth it. Now I know that the life-threatening injury to my wallet was not in vain. I've always trusted Razer, and now I know that their quality will never fall below expectations. I will continue to use and support Razer and its products.

Great keyboard. Does exactly what it is supposed to do and has the mechanical keys if that's what you are into. I bought it for the scrolling color features. Every time I look down to type I see different colors scrolling across the keyboard and it matches with the death adder chroma that I bought with it. It also has other color effects like static (always on), classic razor "breathing", and reactive to your key strokes to name a few. Awesome keyboard!!

I just built a PC and this was the keyboard that I chose. The customization options are pretty sweet, and the keys feel really nice. I would recommend this for anyone who wants to game on PC.

After buying, installing, and testing the Razer BlackWidow Chroma Mechanical Gamming Keyboard, I can honestly say, that it is the best keyboard I have ever owned. The BlackWidow's mechanical keys beat the feel and response of both the Corsair or Logitech mechanical gamming keyboards that I tested. Overall, I highly recommend the Razer BlackWidow Chroma mechanical gamming keyboard.

I purchased this for my daughter for gaming and she loves it. The lighting and program-ability is great also. Nice mechanical keyboard and the price was great since I got it on sale.

Ive tried several "gaming" keyboards, this one is the best. there is no ghosting, and you know when you hit a key. the feel is solid. the keyboard itself is heavy and durable.

I love this keyboard. It is mechanical, so the response time is significantly faster. I love the tactile sound the keys make when I press them. That sound is like music to my ears. I type at about 105 words per minute, so hearing this thing fire off like a machine gun is wonderful. It also comes with 5 programmable macro keys to the left of the standard keyboard set up. You can program these keys to ANYTHING!! I use them to program random functions I need but don't want a key bind to set up, and they work great. The keyboard looks amazing... it has a matte finish and it just looks great. The Chroma feature makes it scroll through 16.8 million colors so I have a personal light show at my desk. Through Razer Synapse you can edit and change the light show how ever you want, and if you have additional Chroma products they will all sync up to do the same thing... its awesome!! My favorite feature (this might be weird for you guys!) is the keyboard display... where CAPS LOCK, Num Lock and those function are displayed... its in the normal spot but with a very low back light function. Now this (to my knowledge) is not effected by the Chroma... but it looks SO COOL! It looks so sleek and combined with everything else it really makes the keyboard come together. I don't know how mechanical keyboards aren't the computer industry standard... maybe in a couple years they will be who knows. But if you use your computer for gaming, for work, for whatever... you want this keyboard... its great! The light show is a product in its self!

This keyboard by far is the nicest feeling most tactical keyboard ever super loud and you can do so much with this keyboard from lighting to macros the keyboard will automatically set its light to the games you're playing just look up over watch black ops 2 lighting for this keyboard and you can get 3rd party apps from the razer website that makes it work on alot more games super fun highly recommend

Lets be honest the biggest difference between this keyboard and the standard BlackWidow is really the color customization option and for me it's worth the premium price tag. My Custom rig has a specific color scheme and while the standard green would work, the near infinite color setting definitely integrates the board into my rig's theme. Performance wise it's just like the Standard BlackWidow that is to say that it's simply amazing. As a hard core PC Gamer I need my tools to work and be reliable in the thick of it. Call me a Razer fanboy but I do believe their products are superior an this keyboard confirms it for me.

This keyboard is top notch! Especially with the new update that came out with it recently, The mechanical keys give it that nice feel and the colors are very vibrant!

This KEYBOARD is extremely beautiful. Especially listening to music or GAMING. I would buy my friend this if they didn't have one, that how great this is.

It seems these days keyboards are becoming cheaper and more Apple-like (flat). Well... not this one! This one is as solid as a rock and looks beautiful. It makes a wonderful clicky sound as you type. Don't let the gamer thing prevent you from buying this keyboard: it will work for everyone. I even recommend for typists. It is very ergonomic and I prefer to use this keyboard when typing. It also lights up and is easy to see. Go buy one for yourself.
