Impressive lighting and options that make it worth the price!

This keyboard is very responsive and so far has worked perfectly with games like League of Legends and world of warcraft and arma 3. The chroma touch while not needed is a very fun touch and allows you to change up when things start getting stale.

As far as just this product goes, I love the design. Its absolutely the centerpiece gamers dream of for their arsenal. As far as gaming, it's amazingly responsive, as is custom with Razer products. The macro keys are well placed. The only 2 drawbacks to this keyboard for me are the usb being on the right side of the keyboard. Most people being right handed, it seems weird to have it set up so anything you plug in there will head straight into the mouse's direction. I also wish that Razer would ship to stores the orange mechanical key version and not just the green. The green keys are rather loud, so if i could switch it out easily I would, and this would be a 5 star review all day. Bought this, along with the firefly, Mamba TE, and the Man O War headset. In combination they are all absolutely beautiful. You can sync them all up so their LEDs react together, or separate for situational use. The program you use to do all this (Razer's Synapse) is super easy to use, has downloaded developer additions, and helps save profiles usable across multiple games, and computers. Razer's other additions of software (such as comms, arena, and cortex) also help increase your game time and play immensely. Their company truly is for gamers, by gamers.

So after doing alot of research on the switches and other RGB mech keyboards, I decided to get the blackwidow chroma and I regret nothing. The easy to learn interface and the ability to link profiles with my other razer products (Tartarus) made it basically plug and play for me with very minimal work from my end. I didnt have to read a 150 page manual to try and figure out how to use it. The LEDs are extremely bright and the colors after very vivid. 10/10

Build Quality: 5 out of 5 This keyboard simply feels amazing. It has very responsive tactile keys that provide amazing feedback. Sure they're not Cherry MX switches, however they're still amazing nonetheless. I would place their tactile feedback somewhere between Cherry MX Brown and Cherry MX Blue switches. They also have a nice resistance to them so if you're like me and you are a 'heavy typer' that usually depress the key all the way to the bottom of the channel, then this keyboard will be your best friend. Ergonomics Quality: 3 out of 5 While this keyboard looks and feels amazing, it's also not very ergonomic (but honestly, you're not expecting that if you're buying a mechanical keyboard now are you?). If you have arthritis or carpal tunnel I would recommend you stay away from any mechanical keyboards. Lighting Quality: 5 out of 5 Simply put this keyboard is amazing. It looks amazing when you have it cycling all the 16.8 million colors it's capable of and their vibrancy and intensity are insane. I've never seen something this colorful when in use. The keys have a soft-ish feeling to them and their laser-cut keys are intense. With Razer Synapse (the controlling software + drivers) you can dual layer your effects, so for me I have mine cycling all colors fluidly, while every key I press sends a very vibrant blue ripple across the whole of the keyboard. It looks amazing. Features Quality: 5 out of 5 It has USB and Analog Headphones / Mic passthrough, so you can bring up next to you a jack for your headphones and microphone (separate 3.5 mm jacks) as well as a USB slot for quick use of a flash drive or other USB device. It also has five programmable macro keys that while I personally don't use them, with the Synapse software you can set them to do almost literally anything, in game and out of game. You can also set them up to change depending on what game you are running, or if you are simply on your desktop via profiles you set up in Synapse. You can even set it up so that when Synapse detects that you are running a particular .exe (specific game, program, etc.) it will automatically switch to that profile for you so that you don't have to remember to do so every time you switch programs/games. It even has a massive amount of N-Key rollover, so you can literally palm the keyboard and it registers every key every time. Longevity Quality: 5 out of 5 (thus far, almost 2 years ownership) So I bought this back in 2014 and thus far it has yet to show any signs of wear (aside from skin oils getting onto the keys and making them a bit shiny, etc - normal wear). Tactile feedback in every key is amazing still to this day. Colors are all still as vibrant as the day I pulled it out of the box. I've even had rage moments in a few games where I smashed the keyboard as hard as I could (reflexively) and it is still functioning perfectly to this day. It takes a lick and keeps on ticking. Overall Quality: 5 out of 5 Because let's face it, you weren't buying this keyboard for ergonomics lol. Recommended: YES

Great keyboard The software helps take it to a new level, and the back light looks awesome. And nothing beats that satisfying click.

This keyboard is both flashy and practical. Very easy to use, and it comes with the Razer software Synapse.

Switched from my old Blackwidow Ultimate, and this one feels even better. The layout of all the keys are the same, so it took no time to get used to. The Chroma is not as loud as the ultimate in terms of key presses, so take that how you'd like. Easy to set up, Razer Synapse 2.0 isn't great, but I had no problem setting it up and using it. It does sync across multiple devices so that can be beneficial if you haul it around. Overall, great keyboard would definitely recommend!

I've had the keyboard for a few days. I spent a bit more than I wanted to for the clicky switches and chroma lighting. I've already made and app that makes the lights flash and dance around like crazy; Overall its the best keyboard i have ever owned, and the only thing I can say I dont like about it, is the size, its a bit small compared to most of the other razer keyboards ive had. My fingers are just the same size, if not bigger, than the keys themselves. Aside of that one thing alone, this is an amazing keyboard, and a great gift opportunity.

I've never owned a mechanical keyboard in all my gaming career. I must say I've been missing out! The Razor Blackwidow Chroma is amazing! Every key press I can feel register extremely fast and with the clicky-ness of each key, it makes it feel official! I play a lot of World of Warcraft and my DPS has slightly improved from using the Razor! Build quality of the keyboard is bar-none! It feels really solid and it is quite heavy so it's not sliding anywhere. The lights on it are pretty cool and I can assign any color to any key I want. Trust me, there's no other keyboard you need!!

Very satisfying click when typing. I wish the springs on the switches were a bit firmer. Also didn't have an extended wrist rest in the box which would have been nice. I'm using a wrist rest that came with my saitek to accommodate my typing style.

For a long time now i have been simply using my laptop for gaming and it runs the games i do play very well but after a while, my keyboard started to malfunction and type wrong letters and even skip some. At this point I decided I was going to start buying parts to build my own custom computer. Christmas morning, my parents had bought me this keyboard and i just want to say that it is by far the best quality keyboard i have seen out there for a decent price thats not over the top. Definately a piece of equipment that anyone serious about computers should have.

This is my second time trying this keyboard. I bought one a year ago and the switches were awful on it so I ended up returning it. At the time I wasn't happy but I at least wanted to try another one but they were all sold out. This year I decided to try again and it's even worse. This time the switches were mostly okay, not uniform in the slightest but passable, it's the other issues that killed it and have 100% turned me off of any Razer made products going forward. The first couple of days were fine. I downloaded the software, changed it to the color I wanted, and made sure to not have the Razer software open on startup. Later I decided to change the color and then it started acting up. Firstly the keyboard would just shut off after 5 or 10 minutes. Fiddling with settings and such on the computer didn't help. Then I uninstalled the software and downloaded it again, that didn't help either. I then completely deleted the software and they keyboard worked again for a day. Upon turning my computer on again today (12/24/15) the keys weren't responsive and the LED's didn't work. After even more fiddling I downloaded the software again and the LED's turned on, except that after 5 minutes the keyboard shut itself off for no reason like before. In conclusion I can't use it with and without the software so this keyboard is 100 percent useless. I've heard bad things about Razer but I suppose I had to experience it on my own skin.

Great Quality, Style, and Performance! I love this keyboard :) It is definitely a clicky-clack mechanical keyboard - getting on my husband's nerves as I type lol but the responsiveness and feel are awesome!

This is my first Razer product. It has improved my game play beyond what I expected. If you love gaming like I do. The by all means get this product. Going back today and getting the deathadder mouse.

The millions of back lit options are great. I love that this keyboard has an audio jack so I don't have to plug my headphones into my computer. The mechanical switches give a good feeling of feedback that I like, although it is a bit loud. The only con I can think of is that the secondary options on a key (!@#$ for example) are not back lit. I highly recommend this keyboard for anyone, but especially gamers like myself.

I was a bit skeptical buying this keyboard. I've read online some reviews that this keyboard isn't sturdy and its made with cheap components. I've also hear comments saying that razer isn't good at making keyboard and that i should go with other companies like corsair. I chose this keyboard because i already had a razer mamba TE mouse which i truely love, and i wanted the whole "Chroma" experience. So i took a leap of faith, went to best buy and bought it. Once i plugged it in and turned on my computer,i was greeted with a cool but not satisfying lighting effect called "spectrum cycling". I eagerly oppened Razer Synapse and change the lighting to "wave" and i synced my other chroma device (which sadly was only my mouse) and boom, the light show began! IT was beutifull how the colors of my mouse and keyboard just cycled and made a cool rainbow effect. If you see the keyboard from ontop, it actually looks like a wave and you can see the keys moving around in a wave effect. Razer Synapse is a great software which lets you fully customize your keyboard, and there's a bunch of people out there who customize the lights and make cool effects. For example, one i really enjoy is a Pacman one that literally summons pacman in your keyboard. One con that i guess only came with my keyboard is its unstable, the feet in the bottom are not equal making it wiggles around when i apply force to one side, i fixed the issue by putting a small piece of paper in one of the legs making it stable. Would totally recommend!

I recently purchased this keyboard to play high end games such as ARK survival and others. I am very pleased with its high durability, anti ghosting, and amazing design.
