I love how sensitive the keyboard buttons are. Must get

I primarily bought this keyboard because I am a super-fast typist and wanted to get back to a mechanical keyboard experience (even though I would be giving up my wireless keyboard advantage), since mechanical keyboards are more responsive to fast typing. It was one of two mech keyboards in the local Best Buy that was open and available for "test typing." Of the two, it had the better feel. But once I had it set up at home, I could barely use it. I'm not a gamer, so I had already planned to just ignore all the extra "gaming" keys. But to accommodate those keys, there was a slight rearrangement of keys I normally use, and this just drove me bonkers. I could never hit the backspace or the shift or even the enter key when I reached for them, as they were just a little off from where they should normally be. I thought I'd get used to it in time, but after a couple of weeks of stabbing for keys that weren't where I needed them to be, I decided that there was no reason to try, since the majority of the keyboard -- being set up for gamers -- wasn't of any use to me anyway. Plus, the back lighting, which I'd thought would be helpful if I wanted to type in the dark (I do a lot of contemplative writing), turned out not to be helpful at all, because only one symbol on a key was backlit. For any key that produced a different symbol when combined with shift, that second symbol didn't shine. A touch typist doesn't necessarily need that other symbol to be lit, but to have one lit and one not was somehow distracting. Consequently, I found myself constantly slowing down to try to reorient my hands. For a gamer, perhaps this is a great keyboard -- it had good reviews, mainly for its responsive touch, which is why I considered it in the first place -- but for me, it really did not hit the mark. I returned it.

Great keyboard for any gamer looking for a starter gamer keyboard. An uber player may want more macro's than are possible with this one, but for most people this will fill their needs. The lit keys are a must as I play with only the monitor light on most of the time. The keystrokes are mechanical - you feel the click of the key when you depress it so you know if you didn't. I have been using it for several months and have no complaints.
