    Great Keyboard!

Bought this keyboard from a brick and mortar store near me. First off I really like the clicking sounds of the mechanical keys. Maybe I'm crazy but it's music to my ears. This is the first mechanical keyboard I used and I'm loving it. I won't go back to a normal keyboard which uses rubber membrane ever again. Once you used a mechanical keyboard you will understand what I'm saying. The keyboard has backlighting which makes it super easy to see in the dark. It has macro keys on the left side of the keyboard which can be assigned to do just about anything you want. You must download the synapse software from Razor's website. The keyboard also has some good weight to it as well. Which tells you it's built very well which will last you a long time. Unless you rage a lot and like to hit the keyboard. lol As for using the keyboard for online gaming. I'm finding my self doing better while playing my online games. Since the mechanical keys does activate a lot faster when pressing them. It took me couple days to get used to the mechanical keys. If you are looking for a mechanical keyboard then I would recommend this. It's well worth the price if you ask me that's for sure.

The Blackwidow Ultimate and Deathadder Chroma

I got the razer black widow ultimate and the death adder chroma. I have not had them for that long, however so far out of the many mice and keyboards I have used over the years these 2 are turning out to be the BEST. They have many advantages and and little to no disadvantages. From the comfortable feel of the mouse as if it has been moulded for your hand and the easy to use software called synapse that lets you program ANY KEY/BUTTON YOU WANT, these products feel very professional with their very stylish appearance and lighting. What makes razer products better than most is that you actually play better. The comfortable feel and fast reaction time for each button you press or mouse movement you do gives you a trump card over your opponents. Being a fps player, these products have done everything and more that i need. Everything above is my honest opinion and i really do think no other peripheral brand or make can match the complexity, design and feel that razer products give. To the razer team, thank you loads for these products and can't wait for what you guys do for 2016 :)

This keyboard is the best on the market. worth every penny. I play sc2, diablo 3, and some first person shooters and will never use another mechanical keyboard again. The feel and spacing is perfect for me. The software to create macros on the fly is extremely well done and thought out. The buttons have the best feel to them compared to all the others on the market. Best decision i ever made as far as purchasing pc gaming peripherals.

i purchased this product back in september and i have so far been very satisfied with it. the keys have a very good feel when pressed thanks to the mechanical switches provided by razer. the ability to adjust the lighting is also very cool, i can turn it up to a radioactive eye-searing green, or i can leave it with just a subtle hint of green, or even shut the green off altogether.

I switched to this Blackwidow Elite from a Logitech G510 after it started to get laggy ingame and delay during regular usage after about 3 years of steady use. First off I'll say that this thing is HEAVY, it weighs over 3 pounds, secondly it is LOUD but it is a mechanical keyboard so that is expected. The pros; this is a very sturdy keyboard that has the feel of being something well put together, from my daily usage to my gaming I haven't had an issue that wasn't my own fault. The cons; going from a to this was a big change in size for me and I had some trouble with typing due to muscle memory, but that's a personal issue and I'm working past it. Other possible issues; like I said this thing is loud, and if you live with someone who get easily irritated at repetitive clacking it could be an issue, luckily for me my wife doesn't care about it yet. All in all this is a great keyboard so far and has sold the Razer brand to me as something worth the money.

I get it youre here to read a review on why you should buy this product. Never mind the nonsense uttered by some of the lesser reviews in this review i am going to go over the general purpose/Intended purpose of this keyboard. Let me start by assuming you are a gamer(hardcore) if you play games 30+ hours a week then yes, you are right to think about if getting a mechanical keyboard is a logical/viable option. Aside of actual computer components every gamers next purchase/upgrade should be a mouse and keyboard. This Blackwidow Ultimate at its current price of 99$ is a very great option, among the Steelseries 100$ keyboard there are few "full" mechanical keyboards that even sell below 100$. The reason i chose this one was because its overall key layout is around a general keyboard key layout. I mostly play CS:GO, but the other half of my gaming is spent playing games like Dota, LOL, D3, and POE. So i wanted/needed a mechanical keyboard with a few Macro key options which the steelseries 6gv2, and K70 by corsair did not provide. These switches are Specifically designed and implemented by razer, but if i was to say which cherry mx switch they resembled i would have to go with mx browns, the specific actuation force is listed at 50gs, which to me is perfect i was weary of cherry reds because i was worried they would be too soft, sure they are enticing for fps games; but im sure none of us want to be mis clicking our ultis in dota and lol respectively and in other games accidentally pressing a button/skill can plant you/render you immobile in order to cast and you can end up ripping in some of your favorite rpgs, which is why most rts and rpg mechanical users tend to use keys which require more force to actuate/press. All in all this keyboard is quite tasteful, I especially enjoy the headphone/mic jack on the keyboard since my headphone cable was short and was snagging constantly when plugged into my front panel connector and better yet i dont get a sound driver notification when i plug them in since the audio is connected via the keyboard first, then it gets relayed to the keyboards actual provided jack. The lights have an apparent 19-20 levels depending on if you count off as a level but around 10+ you will hardily notice a difference in dimness. On a last note this keyboard is plug and play, the only purpose you would need the software(razer synapse 2.0) would be to customize the keyboard further from its state out of the box. This entails utilizing its easy to use custom button mapping feature where you can bind each macro key, including custom key combination macros etc. As well as designated lighting settings etc. ****Other thoughts to consider**** This after owning it for around 1 month is still taking some getting used to in regards to blindly finding home row etc standard wasd qwer keys from not having my hands on the keyboard, before i had a keyboard that had no column for macro keys, so my fingers always cupped the edge of my keyboard i on occasion when i do not have my hands on the keyboard will put them back on in the wrong position( to the left by a key). I also hit jump/spacebar in CS quite often when my hand is off or even in a resting position due to the space bars ease of activation(i assume this was an inherent implementation) . Overall those cons were inevitabilities i was going to encounter with most mechanical keyboards with side buttons. (red switches especially). which i am glad i did not get. Overall for 99$ at this price point it is hard to compete with this product. Most mechanical keyboards below this price point are the ones with the num pad removed they call it ten key less even though its missing more so that eludes me. I was looking between the Razer Blackwidow ultimate and the Steelseries 6gv2(red) and i got this over the 6gv2 solely on the extra side buttons which i can bind: for various cs applications buy options are the first thing that comes to mind, replay settings comes second. I use them for inventory and auto chat commands in diablo, and so on and so forth in other games since i have not yet made profiles for using those keys in LOL/dota. Dont listen to the haters, Pros use various mechanical keyboards from various brands, but at this price point with its features and aesthetics it had those few extra bells and whistles over the 6gv2 to win me over if you dont seek those then go with your gut on that one. But for me i went with this and i love it. I can blindly jump and strafe on poles/railing in cs like butter now. and the space bar is so responsive that you can get those double hops in cs 100% of the time. and crouch jumping on to boxes etc 100% of the time that it makes aiming a priority for once like it should. Proof that this "mechanical" factor is improving my game play. Also the longevity of mechanical keyboards insures me that i will get many hours of use out of this product even though my dell keyboard lasted me 10 years with no keys ever breaking i hope this lasts me at least 5. If youre thinking about getting this just remember to form the "purpose" behind why you need a mechanical keyboard "have a firm identification of what you are going to using it for" and do not led gimmicks or brands make those decisions for you. Imo the corsair line looked too flashy/redundant to me as far as aesthetics. And again in my opinion nothing beats that satin rubberized smooth texture that razer brings to the table and when i think about a keyboard i am going to be gaming on 40+ hours a week this razer BlackWidow just had too many enticing qualities that i specifically needed in a keyboard. If you have any questions about this keyboard, and the difference between this and the stealth my Skype name is the same as the name i have used to post this comment. (andola jackson) with a space

I needed well back-lit mechanical keyboard mostly for work. I was actually set on purchasing from another brand (cost more than 2 x as much). I happened to try out a demo model at Best Buy next to the keyboard I was planning to purchase and liked the feel better. The reviews were solid and the price was right. I'm very happy with this keyboard. 6 months of keyboard pounding and no issues whatsoever.

Can't go wrong with this keyboard if you're in the market for an amazing mechanical gaming keyboard. The backlight helps in those nightly gaming situations. The keys and sound are great and will last you a lifetime. As long as you don't spill coffee on your keyboard. (I did that to my Blackwidow Chroma......)

This is a good mechanical keyboard. The only problems I had was a driver issue but that was easily fixed. I love the sound of a mechanical keyboard but I will admit when I have to type papers it can be very distracting. The keys have good feedback on them and the lighting is nice although since I am not that big of a fan of green I normally just have them off (unless I am gaming at night)

    Membrane keyboards? Never again.

I purchased this keyboard along with a Deathadder Chroma mouse (review coming shortly), paid on behalf of the Oregon Lottery (I finally came out positive on some slot machines, on my birthday no less!) Let me start by saying that if you're looking for a mechanical keyboard on a budget, look no further. This keyboard features Razer's patented mechanical switched (green/clicky) with 50g of actuation force. What this means is that it doesn't take much to push down one of the keys before it registers and it makes a satisfying (or annoying to some) click on keypress. All of the keys are individually backlit on the keyboard, and were admittedly too bright until I turned down the intensity in the Synapse software. One of the coolest features on this keyboard is that every single key can be programmable and recording macros to any of them is a very simple process. Also, to the left of your standard keys are five dedicated macro keys arranged from top to bottom. Have you ever played a game and during that time, you accidentally hit the Windows key during a firefight, only for the game to minimize and send you to the Game Over screen while you scramble to tab your way back? This is where the Gaming Mode feature comes into play -- by pressing FN+F10, Gaming Mode is turned on (or off) and it disables certain keypresses such as the infamous Windows key (by default), alt+tab, and others. Finally, while plugging this keyboard into my computer for the first time, I noticed that there were two USB plugs and both a microphone and headphone jack. One of the USB cables acts as a USB extension which leads to the right corner of the keyboard itself, the same with the audio jacks. All in all, this is a solidly constructed keyboard that's competitively priced with other mechanical keyboards, especially at Best Buy (instant $30 off). After gaming on this keyboard, I will find it hard to ever use a traditional membrane keyboard again. While not perfect, this keyboard has everything that I want/need, and then some. 9.0 / 10.0 Pros: +The satisfying click of the mechanical switches being pressed +Keys are quick and responsive +All keys are programmable +Braided fiber cable (thick and durable) +Gaming Mode +Thick rubber feet keep the keyboard from sliding around +Looks good, aesthetically +$30 off instantly at Best Buy, making this one of their cheapest mechanical keyboards Cons: -That satisfying click can be annoying to those around you, as they are quite loud when typing (the Stealth variant of this keyboard is also available) -The keyboard is quite large, at 475mm (Width) x 171mm (Height) x 20mm (Depth) and weighs about 1500g (3.31lbs) -While I enjoy Razer Synapse (the keyboard software), some may not like having another piece of software installed to use their keyboard -Backlit keys are far too bright at their default brightness level and had to be turned nearly off (although I first plugged in this keyboard at around midnight with no lights on -- may need further testing in daylight) -The Chroma version of this keyboard is also available, albeit at a premium

So I bought this keyboard about six months ago. My experience so far has been great. Easy to setup to my liking and looks great on my desk. The keys need just the right amount of pressure and the feedback click is very satisfying. The adjustable back-lighting is great when I play in low light and makes it easy to find the keys you're looking for. I've enjoyed this keyboard enough that I bought a Razer mouse to go with it.

First of all, this keyboard works incredibly well. My laptop keyboard just doesn't cut it when it comes to extended use, so I decided to get a keyboard that could be beaten up when the need arises and still function well. This keyboard fits the bill. It is not as loud as you would think, but it does make some noise. The difference is negligible to me, since I type loudly anyways. Plus, I should have this keyboard for a very long time, since it is just so darn tough.

My keyboard came in today and I am in love it! It is more than what I expected. I am coming from a membrane keyboard, the logitech k120. I can tell it will increase my gaming and typing experience. I had a problem with the macro keys not responding but it was easily fixed by unplugging the usb and plugging it back in. The software also work in for mac users. I highly recommend this keyboard.

Makes Doing Work a Lot More Fun

Picked this up last week on a whim because I wanted a keyboard that would make things a little more fun for me while working on boring spreadsheets and some web development. I like the back-lit keys. I like the brushed black look. Aesthetically, the keyboard is just simple enough and just wild enough for my taste. I enjoy doing basic work now because the typing process is more involved. It is definitely a little hard to get used to. I have always liked the feel of flat keyboards so the transition is a little hard since I am going to raised keys AND mechanical keys. But this is more of a good thing since I enjoy a good learning curve. Great keyboard, sturdy, and pleasant-looking.

I've bought the Blackwidow Ultimate not so long ago, and I have to say, it's been great to me. I just don't like how "clicky" it was, but then again, it was my mistake not getting the stealth version. Other than that, I enjoy playing DOTA2 with it. The macro keys really help in stepping up my game by a decent amount, and the bright green light helps for all night gaming. I also have the Razer Taipan and the Vespula to match it. I'm looking forward to getting some new headphones, although I have a Hammerhead Pro that I use almost everywhere I go. My gear may not match the computer very well, since I've been using an old laptop handed down to me by my dad that's been overheating a lot recently despite having a fan under it. I really appreciate what you guys do for gamers around the world. People might say it's a bit overpriced, but to me it's all worth it. More power to the Razer team!

I have had this keyboard for a while now... everything is outstanding, especially the mechanical switch. The only problem i had with this is the keycaps. if you are a person who is a enthusiast with mechanical keyboards and gaming, i am certain that many people want to keep their peripheral's is new as possible. I noticed there is a small scratch on my keycaps, not very much of a big deal, but i am a little disappointed about the quality on the keycaps. i found a solution though to fix that. Overall, this Keyboard has given me no technical issues or anything else.
