Customers are saying

Customers are delighted by the Blade 15.6" gaming laptop's impressive performance and solid build quality, frequently praising its portability and excellent display refresh rate. However, some users noted that the laptop can get quite warm during intensive use and that the price point may be high for some consumers. The loud fan noise during gaming sessions was also a recurring concern for a few customers.

Great pc, preforms well but severely over priced and you can get a stronger laptop for $1000 less. Do your research before you buy.

Great Laptop, Faulty Charger,Poor Customer Service

This is my first experience with Razer. I have always loved the looks of their laptops and other products (external GPU enclosure looks great too), and I also like the idea of a company that's "for gamers, by gamers," and takes in to consideration all of the feedback they receive from their customers to improve their products. For those things, 5 stars. I recently decided to dive back in to the world of a gaming laptop after having ASUS, Aorus, MSI, and other brands in the past, and after seeing how sexy the 2018 Blade 15.6 was, I decided to go that route. The same or better performance can be had for much less (BB currently has an ASUS with the same CPU, same RAM, a REAL 1060 vs the 1060 Max-Q in the Blade, etc. for $1299 vs $2199 for the Blade), but the Blade has better build quality, is almost bezeless, and just seems to be built very well. I forked over the $900 premium for the "look and feel" and was very happy with my purchase, until 3 days later when the charger started making noise. After coming in the third morning of ownership and powering up the laptop, I could hear what can only be described as the sound of a mechanical hard drive under heavy load. Lots of pops and clicks and whatnot. Since the Blade doesn't have a mechanical drive, I started looking around to find where the sound was coming from. It was electrical cracks and pops from the charger. Great. 3 days in, $2199 laptop, and the charger sounds like it's going to fail. I got on chat with Razer customer support. After filling out a form and taking a video of the power supply so the support rep could hear what was happening, he said "Yep! The sound is very audible, we'll be replacing your unit." I had to fill out another form, and then he said "The order for the replacement unit will be processed after tracking info tells us that your old unit is on its way back to us." Wait, what? I asked how long that would take, since I'd obviously be without a laptop the entire time. He said "To process and ship the order usually takes 2 business days, and shipping is 3-5 business days." (So, they're shipping it Ground). At that point I told him that I use this laptop for work, and I couldn't be without it for, best case scenario, 5-7 business days. He told me to hold on and see what he could do. He came back with an offer of "expedited" 2-3 day shipping. Unacceptable. Razer - You are selling a premium product. Please provide a premium service. After taking serial numbers off of my laptop and charger, and requiring I send in a proof of purchase as well as a video of the problem in question, you should have no doubt that I indeed own the laptop that's having the issue. Why not send a charger to me with a return label in the box so I can just stick my old charger in the box and send it back? If you don't trust your customers, I would have even been willing to provide a credit card number so you could charge me for the new one if I didn't return the old one. Just because I can't be dark for a week or more, I'll be returning this laptop. I've read horror stories of Razer's support policies before, and I always hoped it was people being overly critical. Looks like I was wrong. It's a shame because I love the laptop itself, other than the fans that never seem to calm down even when I'm not gaming. Beautiful piece of kit other than the charger, and the customer support. Shame.

I really really wanted to like this. Beautiful design, by far the nicest looking windows laptop. But I used this for watching content and it had just the worst LED bleed. I stopped watching movies and just stared at the bottom bar because it was ridiculous. But if you could live with that, this laptop is a monster. It plays games at high frame rates, yeah the fans are loud but it doesn’t have a whine to it. Also the trackpad is really nice too. I just can justify spending this much on a device that has really bad led bleed. Again, big fan of this product line. It’s possible that I just had a defective product. Extremely disappointed, I would pass on this generation.

The Blade 15 is a great gaming laptop for all types, taking it to class, gaming on the go, and even taking it to a meeting, it has the professional look to pull it off. The build quality is top notch, i love how it feels and types.

Loving the laptop thus far as it has easily churned through everything I've thrown at it both at home and on the road. Even though I got it on sale it was still a bit expensive--though that's kind of a different story entirely

Good quality and can be modified over time. I love the 144hz refresh rate, it’s sleek and simple cosmetically compared to other gaming laptops which tend to be bulkier

I got this laptop as an open box. The staff was super helpful in assisting my son and I in making this decision for a gaming laptop that is VR ready, but also useable for his school (home school). It is built like a brick with all aluminum housing, The FPS is amazing and handles the most robust games. It has every feature that we wanted (including a lighted keyboard that can be customized with an array of colors) at an awesome price! We are super happy with this purchase and believe that this laptop is about as good as they get for our tech and gaming needs, as well as for the most demanding tasks not related to gaming, including video editing. This laptop is made to last for YEARS! Thank you Razor and Best Buy!

Even with the 1060, this laptop has no trouble running recent games at 1080p144 settings. The only issue I have is that the black finish is prone to fingerprints. A third party skin can help with this.

This computer is awesome! It allows most every application anyone could want from gaming to creation of art. The separate "pad" that goes with it (separate purchase) allows creative applications remotely.

    The Best Gaming Laptop

It has been a struggle for people like me who would have preferred to have a laptop that doesn't scream "I'm a gamer" but at the same time perform like a gaming machine. Razer blade 15" got me shook, it's design is so sleek. The bezels on the screen is amazing too, it is indeed the smallest 15" gaming laptop out there on the market. Also, the customization of keyboard light is a smart idea. All in all, if you have a huge budget for a gaming laptop, this is probably your best bet. I am loving my laptop. I am sure you will when you decide to get one.

I got a display unit and the thing was a toaster... amazing machine if not for that, I was so in love with this machine. Also had audio latency issues with Ableton live 10. To be fair most PC's also have this issue.. Macs have 1/10th the latency out of the box!! This can be solved with ASIO4ALL software.

As many reviews of the product say online, this is a wonderful device thats only flaw is it's list price. Outside of that, I have had no issues with the product, and I have has it for nearly 5 months. I have had no quality control issues with it, something that many reviewers say is problematic. Highly recommend for somebody looking for a professional gaming PC.

I really like the build quality and the look of this laptop. I was excited for the 144hz display and gen 8 i7. The problem with this device is the fans are super loud and there is nothin you can do about it. The synapse software limits the fan low speed to 4000rpm! The laptop fans spin up almost constantly, even with no apps running. I could excuse noise during games, but I had coworkers and family complain about the fans from 5-10ft away under light use. After looking online I found many situations of previous models having extremely loud fans requiring future firmware updates to address. I don’t have time to wait and need to use old machine now.
