Thermal Throttling… bad!
||Posted . Owned for 6 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Way too much thermal throttling in games especially Battlefield 2042 where the computer often crashes. Last Razer computer I will ever buy. Intel i9 13950hx with an RTX 4090.

Image retention and finnicky trackpad
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The mini-LED is fantastic and vibrant but the display does exhibit extended periods of image-retention if you were to leave the screen static for more than 30 minutes - desktop pictutes and and game hotbars for instance will remain. Fortunately this is not permenant and does go away overnight. My other problem is that the trackpad on my unit likes to double-click and drag folders on its own. Ive worked with Razer’s support and they are working on a software fix for this issue.

Power and Versatility!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Razer Blade Review This laptop feels premium and, in hardware, it is. However, it has an issue: the touchpad. Touchpad: So initially I was going to give this Razer laptop a poor score because the touchpad had serious issues even after I had done all required updates. However, after I contacted Razer, they directed me to two other updates directly from their website (one which was brand new) that mostly fixed the issues. There is still a some random clicking and dragging that happens unexpectedly as you drag your finger across the touchpad, and it seems to degrade after the laptop has been running for a while (over 30 mins). It helps if you keep your finger on the bottom right-quadrant of the touchpad. While it is clear Razer is actively addressing this issue, there is still work to be done to get it 100% right. I'd say right now it's about 70%. The trackpad is so big that you'll be all over it as you're typing, but the updates fixed the issues of palm clicking. Along with the large size, there is a lot of versatility with what you can do with the touchpad depending on how many fingers you put on it (3 or 4 finger gestures). This can be handy when working with design programs or just managing windows, but it does take some getting used to as to avoid inadvertent commands. Display: The screen is amazing and paired up with the GeForce RTX 4090, I am getting crisp and butter smooth images even pushing the games (such as Fortnite) at 3880x2400 (16:10), which is native. 4k UHD is fantastic, with incredibly vibrant colors and deep contrast. The display is where this laptop shines, and in that respect, it does not disappoint. This is the best laptop screen I have ever seen. The dual mode 120 UHD (creator mode) and 240 FHD (gaming) set this laptop apart from the rest. I mean I was seeing clothing threads of my characters thanks to the clarity of the screen. I also did not experience any screen tearing. The laptop, when pushed, does get hot to the touch in the upper right quadrant of the keyboard, above the F-keys. The fan blows behind the laptop and below the screen, but on a flat surface the screen absorbs some of that heat and also gets hot. This is as expected in a gaming laptop, though I was thinking that vapor chamber cooling was going to keep it cool enough for me to touch. The heat is only very high when pushing the laptop because when in normal use, the laptop stays cool. Still, I'm impressed that this has the 4090 and manages to keep it from overheating. The laptop comes with 3 USB 3.0 ports (2 on left side and 1 on the right), 2 USB C (one on each side), an HDMI port (right side), audio jack (left), and SD card reader (right). The brick cable plug is L shaped but you can face it towards the back or the front, but if you face it towards the front, it blocks the 2 USB 3.0 ports and the USB C port. Aesthetically, the laptop is sharp. The RGB keyboard is a nice touch and the Razer emblem behind the screen looks good. Battery: I'm getting roughly a little over 2 hours of light gaming out of it. Not amazing but as expected. (With great GPU power comes great battery depletion). Realize that this is not just a gaming laptop; it's actually designed to handle and implement AI solutions in many other elements such as music producing, video editing, CGI, graphic design, 3D modeling, film making, photography, etc. Razer's website also has testimonials of such uses, which showcase this laptop's true potential and versatility. This is perhaps one of the reasons it has a high price tag (that and the incredible graphics card & screen). I do recommend it, but be patient as Razer rolls out more updates to provide more stability to the touchpad. Other than that, the laptop is nearly perfect.

Incredible laptop ruined by inconsistent screen
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Got to try out this laptop but ultimately sent it back. PROS: +Built like a tank. Solid aluminum build, smooth hinges +Great performance in a relatively compact chassis +Keyboard is shallow but gives a satisfying click +Very good speakers; though not MacBook level +Lots of customization in the Synapse app +Screen is excellent when playing games or watching videos or using light mode (but see cons) CONS: -The screen looks terrible in dark mode. Blooming is very distracting, white text turns gray; icons and thumbnail images get washed out. When moving from dark and light backgrounds, the dimming makes everything look blown out and unnatural. -The keyboard deck gets very warm after awhile. -The extremely large touchpad sometimes registers unintentional clicks. -Should have Windows 11 Pro included For a nearly $4,000 laptop, there is no excuse for a screen with so many drawbacks. Save your money and go with a QHD model or look at the competition.

Wow just wow…
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Lucked out and found the 16 4090 as an open box. Took it home and was blown away. The screen melts your face it’s so bright and vibrant. Current games run outstanding at 4k with most maxed settings. Sleek design so you don’t look creepy if you’re a professional adult, no offense to folks that like visually loud computers. I would definitely buy this again.

It works, when it works. But dont work whenever.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Razer has always been the worst quality control, and this is no exception, tried multiple different razer blade 16s, they all freeze and shuts off games for no reasons whatsoever. I suggest not buying anything from Razer because they do not care for quality whatsoever. (ventilation is terrible as well, almost no air is able to come out because it is blowing out the air directly below which usually is flat on the desk and making air harder to come out compare to ROG strix)

Such a huge pain and heaven forbid if you were to strip one. Then you are screwed. Track pad is still terrible on this model.

Great Performance with some minor complaints
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Let’s start off with the few criticisms I have about this laptop. My biggest complaint is that the palm rejection on the mouse pad is bad. I would say if you needed to do a lot of typing it might be best to disable the mouse pad and use a normal mouse while doing that instead. Basically, what happens is if you just barely touch the mouse surface while typing it will relocate your mouse cursor and you end up typing in a totally different area. If you’re not doing a bunch of typing the touchpads seems fine and I don’t have any complaints. Honestly though if you’re using this to game, you’re probably not using the touchpad for your mouse anyway so in that case it’s not the worst deal. Another complaint is that while the performance of this laptop is amazing (outperforming my desktop gaming computer in almost every way) that comes at a cost. Heat, and with that heat the noise from the fans. The fans on this laptop do a great job of trying to keep the heat in check but they can be loud when you are gaming. If your using headphones, then you probably won’t notice it. But in a normally quiet room I would say the fans are very noticeable. One other note with heat, the area just above the keyboard between the top of the keyboard and the screen can get very hot. Like I would not want to hold my hand on it for more than a few seconds kind of hot. That’s not normally an area you’re going to touch but I wanted to make a note of it anyway. One final complaint before the good stuff is the speakers. While they are loud and normally fairly clear they tend to be a little on the “empty” side. The sound is lacking in any sort of real low end or base and it makes most things sound kind of “tinny” in my opinion. Alright with that stuff out of the way (which don’t get me wrong is kind of a bummer on a laptop in this price range) let’s get to the good stuff. Performance. There is not much else to be said here with the maxed-out specs on this laptop of the 13950hx processor and the 4090-laptop graphics this thing screams performance wise. In all honesty it outperforms a desktop computer from just last year and that’s impressive in the form factor you get here. I’ve had plenty of hour’s gaming so far with basically no issues whatsoever (other than the above stated items which I don’t have an issue with when gaming because I use a headset and a separate mouse). FPS has been solid and consistent and loading times have also been very good. One thing I will note which I personally like but some people might not, is with the 2TB storage version it’s not a single 2tb drive it’s two 1tb drives one with the OS and recovery stuff on it and the second is just included as raw storage. So, I’ve just set the second storage drive as my default location to install and run steam games as well as all the other launchers out there, works out great actually. Another bright point (pun intended) is the display. Out of the box it’s set to the 4k 120hz mode and to be honest I love it. It’s super bright and has been very nice to look at almost all the time. If you’re looking for the fastest refresh rates though you will want to switch to the 1080p 240hz mode in the synapse software. This does require a system reboot to accomplish but once it’s done that’s the native resolution and there are no weird scaling issues or anything. I love the higher resolution display so personally I stick with that but in twitchy games I could see the other mode working out great as well. Overall, I would say if you’re looking for full gaming performance in a laptop formfactor then sure this is a viable option the performance is amazing but as I’ve stated above it’s not perfect and at this price point I feel like a few of these things could be better. Razer owns THX now why are the speakers not better? Maybe it’s the matted desk surface I have it on and a solid table would sound better but in general I would just expect more at this price. And the track pad well that’s still my biggest complaint. I feel it can probably be fixed with some more firmware tuning but it’s fairly annoying to have to turn the thing off completely just t be able to type out a paper without getting frustrated. If you can overlook those things and price is not a problem for you then it’s hard to go wrong with this choice though.

Perfect for me so far. About 25 hours in.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got mine at Micro Center, though I would have preferred to get it from Best Buy to take advantage of total tech. So far its been perfect, no issues at all. I would normally have a full desktop setup, but lost the space due to an unexpected incoming family member (baby). I had the MSI Titan, which I really liked, but couldn’t quite deal with how big it is. This one is perfect. The 16:10 means you’re driving more pixels, but the dual mode display takes the worry away. I play now on the couch with a lap board, so I miss the keyboard from the MSI, but the pros outweigh the cons for me. It feels very thin and light for the performance it packs. Also, the keyboard is fine, it’s just not a full mechanical with a 10 key. I can run Doom Eternal at 4k 16:10 without using DLSS and stick to 120 hz 98% of the time. The lows stay above 100 FPS.

Awesome laptop!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This laptop is amazing. It runs whatever I want at great settings and high framerates. It runs super smooth as wepl. Plus Razer implemented the option to limit the battery charge. I also was able to fit the WD SN850X 4tb ssd (a thin double sided) as the storage drive despite it advertising double-sided only. Most other people are complaining about absurd things like the screw type used on the case.

Perfect Gaming Laptop
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased my Razer from the Razer store. I noticed that when purchased from Razer, the screen are all AUO. The laptop does NOT bloom ,no display issues, nothing!, It is a sweet PC, especially given the hefty price tag. I can throw any game at it, crank it to ULTRA or PHYSCHO and like nothing, im able to get 70-80+ FPS on any game. I wanted the best of the best and I say I got it. Im not disappointed at all.

The worlds most expensive ewaste
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This laptop appears to be the best on paper but when you get it. You’ll notice the following 1. Support is almost non-existent. They make you jump through hoops to tell you that they cant help you. Customer service is available by phone but technical support is email ONLY! 2. Build quality is nice but easily scratched. The anodized aluminum helps show the scratches very easily. The most important thing is that the laptop is NOT upgradeable. Wait for the Framework laptop!
