The Razer Synapse app is a real pita, and it makes configuring the board more complicated than it should be. Also, these keys are linear, like Cherry Reds, and not tactile at all.

Cheap feeling wrist guard and low light levels

Was looking to upgrade from a Corsair K70 MK2 Low Profile keyboard and ended up returning it as the material used for the wrist guard felt very cheap (some sort of "pleather") and it made my hands feel almost sort of warm and balmy. Additionally, the lights were WAY more dim than any Corsair keyboard I have ever had. All in all, I would not recommend it unless you are a diehard Razer fan and demand a full Razer kit. Staying on the Corsair bandwagon for now but willing to give this a shot if they come out with an updated version in the future

This keyboard is the first usable analog keyboard thats available to the mainstream consumer. Unfortunately that means that the number of games that are designed with this keyboard in mind are virtually zero, and the razer is forced to take a razer is forced to take a hacky approach to enabling analog input in video games. The keyboard registers in windows as an xinput controller, and very frequently it will hijack functionality from your actual xinput controller. MANY games are unplayable with a gamepad while this keyboard is plugged in, even skyrim, one of the most acclaimed and universally played games of all time, is completely unplayable when using this keyboard. And I don't mean that you can't play it with a gamepad, I mean the game can't be played at all. Mouse functionality is removed when a gamepad is detected and the keyboard removes all functionality from actual gamepads. If you are buying this keyboard because you're sick of switching from keyboard to game pad mid game whenever you need some fine analogue control, don't buy this. It's a complete waste of money except to people who have a very specific need for modular auction and don't ever plan on playing a game on their computer.

Sticky keys issue, RMA process sux, Razer won't issue a refund because I purchased from Best Buy, couldn't return it to Best Buy because the issue didn't occur until after the return window closed. My RMA replacement had the same sticky keys issue. And the also known conflict with game controllers. Razer knows about these issues; they have since day 1. I guess I'll have to talk to my brother-in-law; he's a class action lawyer. I'm currently typing on an analog keyboard from another major manfacturer, and I've never had a SINGLE issue. Razer's QA sucks, and their CustServ is somehow worse. And their software guys...well... AVOID AT ALL COSTS UNLESS YOU WANT A KEYBOARD THAT IS TRASH AT, YOU KNOW, KEYBOARDING. RANT OVER.

A Premium Keyboard with a Premium Price

This is the keyboard that separates the kids from the adults. The analog optical switches feel very nice as I type this review, much better than the MX Brown switches that were in my Corsair K95 RGB PLATINUM. The actuation points for these optical switches can be adjusted in the Razer Synapse software which I find useful depending on the task you're working on. The deck is aluminum with a plastic body. The feet feature 2 separate degrees for adjusting the keyboard to a comfortable incline at either 6 degrees or 9 degrees. it can also sit flat. As I get older, I'm starting to prefer not a whole lot of RGB in my setup. This keyboard does it very nicely with its subtle lighting effects. The lights diffuse very nicely and look premium. If you're looking for Corsair-class keyboard brightness, then this keyboard is not for you. Lighting alone should not justify this purchase. The leatherette wrist rest is large and plush (added plus, it attaches magnetically AND has accent lighting). Feels and looks premium enough. The keycaps are PBT Doubleshot and have a nice texture to them. Razer sells extra sets in their Green, Mercury, or Quartz colors. Every key contains a stabilizer thus providing a sturdy typing (or gaming) experience. PROS: The keys feel amazing. Wrist rest is irresistible. Switch actuation can be adjusted depending on the task at hand CONS: The price $250 USD. Most games do not yet support Analog keyboard input, but give it time

Garbage because of Razer Synapse - Sticky keys

Could be a solid keyboard. Except for the sticky/repeating keys bug plaguing most users. Razer refuses to acknowledge or issue a software update addressing it. The issue goes away when you close Razer Synapse. However, if you're not running Synapse, this board is no better than a $100 mechanical keyboard. You literally lose all special functionality of this board unless Synapse is running.

Avoid this keyboard like a plague

    Posted .

The build of the keyboard is great. Feels great, linear keys feel great. Definitely takes a few to get used to due to the sensitivity of the keys. LEDs are great, wristpad is wonderful. I got it on sale for about $130 when I ordered it which was a nice price. Regular MSRP is ridiculous. I wouldn't wish anyone to get this keyboard despite how good it may sound above. The analog feature is HORRENDOUS. There are many older games that have no compatibility for having both a keyboard and game controller plugged in at the same time. If that's the case, the game is unplayable unless you manually unplug your keyboard or your controller (depending on your use case). There is NO way to disable the analog feature. Razer support is telling there's nothing they can do. Reddit says a large majority of people with this keyboard also experience the problem. Avoid it like the plague. It's horrible for the analog feature alone and the headaches it WILL provide you. Stick to what you know-- get the non-analog version and you'll be plenty happy. I replaced mine with a Huntsman V2 Optical

Great to finally have analog input.

I have been complaining about the lack of analog input on gaming keyboards for about 10 years now. The simple fact of the matter is that I can't drive a car with wasd, and not being able to match an npcs walking pace is really annoying. Those arent huge issues, but I do keep a controller plugged in on my desk for those particular tasks. This seems to works as advertised, so I'd like to adress some of the concerns of the other reviewers. 1) It's ahead of its time. While it's true that games don't have built in support for the joystick feature, most games will work just fine anyway. I've been using a combination of keyboard and controller for years (for example when walking around I use the controller, but I switch to mouse and keyboard when shooting), while it occasionally causes issues with older games, the vast majority of games simply don't care if you mix and match control styles. 2) How the keys feel. I have to admit, if I had to do a lot of typing I would hate this keyboard. In game I really like the actuation force, but it feels really weird when typing. 3) Backlighting, it is admittedly not super bright. I personally find the light levels to be fine, though I admittedly dislike rgb lighting. If all you want is bright backlighting, please don't spend $250 on a keyboard for that. 4) Quality, the keycaps don't look as good as I would like on a keyboard this expensive, and the very comfy wrist rest probably wont last very long. That said the keyboard feel solid, and in this case you are paying fo the new technology, not aesthetics. Overall, I am very pleased, but I bought it solely because of the analog switches. If the keyboard's appearance really important to you may want to look at it in person to see if its right for you.

Writing this to counteract the Corsair fanboys. Keyboard is legit. PBT caps are way ahead of other in terms of quality. Caring about spotlight bright RGB is for children. Razer backlighting is the best of the best.

Constantly picks up in games as the first controller, so in Rocket League you have to unplug the keyboard to play as Player 1. Also unplayable in BF2042 because it thinks you're playing on controller, can't look around with your mouse.
