Great gaming headset
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The headset feels comfortable on my head with glasses on and the sound quality is great. I wouldn't recommend this for music, but for gaming it's perfect. The mic sounds clear as well as I use it for gaming and work calls.

Decent headphone, but software is iffy
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very comfortable with glasses. The audio isn't the best in fps games. The synapse software isn't perfect, thus the thx suffers. In stereo the audio is amazing.

I like the product
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Its really great! I love the headset in my call center for it being a usb plug as the audio jack doesnt work for my phone systems. The one complaint i have is the muting feature. You have to click the mic to mute yourself

Terrible software ruins good hardware
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This product could be a 5 star headset, however the software has countless errors and bugs that are apparently just direct conflicts with Windows 10. If you simply want to plug them in, and not check the EQ settings or take advantage of the THX surround sound, then these headphones will probably seem to work fine, however, if you are not attempting to take advantage of all it's features, you may as well just buy a $30 headset. The software to put it bluntly is awful. When it works, which is rarely, the sound quality is very nice. The mic is also very responsive and clear, and the physical headphones themselves are well made. The issue is, you will have to constantly restart your PC or reinstall the software as it simply stops detecting your games or using your custom settings after a few minutes of use, or if you're lucky, a few hours. The THX Surround sound more often than not just stops working, and you are simply hearing the default stereo output (It's a very noticeable difference and easily testable as you can minimize your program and switch between stereo and surround and hear that nothing is changing again.) Your custom EQ profiles will just stop working, and there will no longer be a detectable sound change between any of the defaults. Also games will just launch without the saved sound profiles you choose for them as well and will require you to switch it on and off several times before it finally takes effect. The only easy fix is to reboot the computer and then the problems just start again a few minutes or hours later. If you run into these issues, you'll discover dozens of dead ended threads about the exact problems I'm describing going on over the last year with no resolution except some vague references to updates and similar issues across their older products. Many of the "solutions" include reinstalling windows. This is just ridiculous, reinstalling windows to get razer's drivers to function is a desperate fix at best and doesn't even address the problem. I build computers as a hobby and am generally literate when it comes to basic software and hardware, this rig is new and has no issues whatsoever and I can confidently say there is no conflicting software or issues that should cause this. The only sound drivers previously on the PC were the base windows and Motherboard ones. Razer's software has it's own output and drivers that take over, which unfortunately, just don't do their job, and you will find yourself constantly minimizing games when you notice the sound profile has changed and seeing that your custom settings or the surround sound has simply switched off. This is beyond frustrating, and certainly not worth $130. Take my word for it, if you like to tweak hardware settings and customize the sound profile, just buy something else. This will be the first pair of headphones I've ever returned in my entire life, and I genuinely wanted to like them and it actually made me sad that I have to even write this review, but seeing how this issue is pretty common despite the good reviews, I felt it necessary. If one day the issue is actually corrected, then yes, I'd say these would be a great options, as after a little tweaking you can get pretty good quality out of them. It's just not worth the money and effort to have to constantly troubleshoot it before using them every time.

Decent product and very comfortable
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.1) THX 7.1 Surround This was one of the bigger reasons why I purchased the headset. In general, it actually degraded my spatial awareness in-game. When enabled, it sort of felt like sounds were coming from everywhere rather than a specific area. I tried multiple settings and configurations with different games to no effect. Do movies and games kind of sound cooler with the feature enabled? Yes; but, it's not going to drastically improve your experience otherwise. 2) Microphone I use this headset for gaming and for work - I've gotten several colleagues and customers who have complimented the quality of voice in meetings and webinars. I have all of the voice enhancement features disabled in Razer Synapse - which would suggest that the actual microphone is of pretty decent quality. 3) Sound Like I said, I use these for work and for play - overall no complaints. Things sound "right" and there was only a little bit of tuning needed in the EQ. 4) Fit/Wear Normally, the cartilage around my ears would start to get sore after a few hours. However, the cups on this headset are deep enough that this isn't a problem. The deepness of the cups do end up looking pretty funny on your head though. I wouldn't say that this headset is the most fashionable as a result - but, hey, nobody has to see you when you're using them. 5) Software/Drivers Being forced to use Razer Synapse is kind of a huge downer. You have to make an account and deal with yet more software forced down your throat. I don't even use 99% of the features in the software because they make little to no difference in the overall quality of the headset. The only thing useful that the software does is enable some of the buttons on the actual headset. 6) Buttons I like that there's a mute button on the end of the mic - this is super useful for quickly muting myself during a meeting without having to actually interact with the computer. The volume slider/roller on the headphone cup is also very useful.
