You need it is you are a gamer
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Those Razer headphones are simply impressive for the gamer in my house and deserve all my recognition. My son is a gamer, I just play his games, and I recognize that only quality products can keep with his requirements. More traditional equipment can not rest long in his infinite hours of games. I learned long ago that the right product makes the difference and guarantees lifespan. You can see the quality and the style as soon as you open the box. Sturdy materials for the headphones and a cloth-covered wire are showing that this is an investment. With a quite decent cup size that covers the ears, this is securing a nice sound delivering and the experience of the hyper sense. The mic is detachable and connected to the body of the headphones by a jack, I found it a brilliant idea because this is one of the weakest parts of most of the other (already broken) headphones. The headphones are connected to the pc by a USB-A. Very easy setup, the pc recognizes the headphones and installs the drivers. A part of the available installation is the Razer Synapse app that I strongly recommend if you plan to customize lights or sound in your headphone. Be aware that the size of the app is significant. One element that is a must is the ability to customize the device and personalize the profile (up to 4 players). Once the profiles are defined, just need to manage them directly from the mouse. Before playing I did a few tests with web-available testers and the sound is delivered beautifully. The mic also great quality can also be muted directly from the right cup. Be aware, those are no noise-canceling headphones. During the games, the immersive sounds make the difference. The hypersense capacity that makes the cup vibrate with the sound are adding a nice reality touch, especially when you are playing action games. Your brain follows the action with the vibration. The intensity of the vibration is also something that can be regulated. A nice touch!. Additional features that are great in a gamer headphone and I love related to easy access to controls with your hands. The volume can be adjusted directly in the cup with a control wheel (quick access to sound control is a must when you are in a game). You can also have access to the mute button or to the hypersense control that are in your headphone cup. The headphones are very comfortable for many hours playing and can be adaptable to any head size.

FANTASTIC Comfort/Sound! HyperSense Meh.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. In my old age, I have shifted my gaming sensibilities. I now care more about story than the latest graphics and I care more about comfort than sound quality. Fortunately, the Razor Kraken V3 is great for both comfort and sound quality. The new HyperSense system though is a bit weird and I turned it off after about a day of trying it out. Here are some detailed points about what I like, don't like, and am indifferent about, when it comes to these headphones. Like: 1. Comfortable: These are some of the most comfortable headphones I have now. I bought two other gaming headphones over the last month that were supposed to be the most comfortable, but they were not. These actually have the perfect amount of padding on both the headband as well as the ear cups. The headband is so good, it is even comfortable now that I no longer have any hair on top of my head for extra padding. My only wish would be for the ear cups to have some turning ability to them. If they had that, they would be THE most comfortable headset I have. I have become convinced that I need to go back to wired headsets because having the electronics and batteries in the headset just makes them too heavy and THAT is the prime reason why many headsets just aren't that comfortable any more. 2. Sound Quality: These things sound phenomenal and you can tune them easily through the Razor software. I did run into some problems with popping and other sound artifacts, but I think that is more of an issue with my gaming laptop than the headset. I was using a pair of my audiophile quality headphones with my laptop but they are so sensitive that they were picking up some of the interference from the other laptop components. I got an external sound card and that fixed everything because it put a layer of sound processing between the headphones and the computer. The Kraken V3s sound just as good and have the same 7.1 quality as the audiophile set with the 7.1 sound card, though without the separation of the headphones from the laptop, they are picking up on that interference. Like I said, this is more of an issue with the laptop and not the headphones. 3. Razer Software: The tuning software that you can download from Razor is spectacular in that it is intuitive and comprehensive. You can tune every little thing about these headphones from their sound quality, to HyperSense intensity, to the RGB patterns. The RBG patterns can even be set up to flash certain colors for certain activities in game! It's insane the level of customization that the Chroma RGB software provides. 4. Mic Quality: I don't play a lot of games where I talk a lot, but in the one that I do (Star Trek Online), my Fleetmates, and team members all said they could hear me crystal clear with the Kraken V3. When I don't need the mic, it's easy to pull out and put in my desk drawer. Don't Like: 1. HyperSense: I've gotten to the point where I have turned off the vibration features on my gamepads because of it just becoming annoying now and not adding any actual immersion. I had to do the same with the HyperSense. I think it is more of an issue of the software interface since there really is 'immersion' to it. It vibrates the teeth out of your head on the highest setting not because an RPG went off next to you but because the sound/music just hit a really low bass note. If it were tuned so that it had an effect that tied to the game action and not just the sound pitch, it would be much better, though I would still probably turn it off. May be a super cool feature in the future but right now it is just a gimmick and may even cost you money at the dentist to fix your teeth. Indiferent: 1. Light Effects: If you are a streamer, you will LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the fine tuning you can do of the RGB light on the Razor V3. The fact that you can tie color visual effect to in-game actions is really cool. Since I can not see my self while playing, and do not stream myself, it is largely wasted on me. Conclusions: The Kraken V3s with HyperSense are a top notch gaming headset. That being said, if you don't need the lighting effects or want to rattle your teeth out of your head, I would recommend the standard Kraken headset instead and save a bit of money. Really I would give this 4.5 stars, but I can't do half stars.

Solid build and sound
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These headphones are solid. They have a great build on them. They are sturdy metal at the hinge. I feel confident these will last a long time. The head feel is decent. The extra durability comes at the the cost of some extra weight. It so pretty balanced at the pressure points so it isn’t at the cost of comfort. The sound is good. The surround sound is good. The HyperSense is good you really get to feel the explosions and the gunshots when you are playing video games. When playing songs with a lot of bass it really shines. The only gripe is that sometimes it’s a little overwhelming. I found it distracting especially when I have the mic sidetone on and my voice is causing the headset to vibrate. I usually leave it on the lowest or the second level when using the HyperSense. The sound is great with the Spatial Audio making it easy to tell where the enemies are coming from in competitive matches and feel more immersed in story games. These are a solid headset with a lot of technology. They are durable and sound great.

Wow, haptic feedback is amazing!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This this headset is really cool and I'm happy to say it is as good in terms of sound quality as my Corsair gaming headset except it has a feature that the Corsair does not - haptic feedback. I play multi-player games with my family and the surround sound with the feedback is pretty cool and makes the whole experience more immersive. While playing Battlefield you can hear and feel the action, it's pretty cool, You can hear things behind and to the side and feel it too. In terms of comfort, this headset is so far very comfortable to wear for extended periods of time and isn't too heavy. Sometimes it's a preference thing but I can't stand headsets that make your head feel like it's in a vice and so far this one isn't that way for me. The RGB is pretty cool and Razer has definitely stepped up the software experience make it easy to control the sound and haptic feedback and lighting. Overall, having played games to test this headset against my Corsair headset I definitely like the feedback that this headset provides over the ones that don't have that, it just makes the whole experience that much more intense when playing FPS games or games that really take advantage of surround and the feel of the game. These are definitely worth an upgrade if you're looking to add to the intensity of the experience of playing some games.

Very good sound quality with touch sensory
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very impressed with the sound quality of these headphones. The Razer Kraken V3 has to rank up at the top of the many headphones we have used for gaming. The Razer HyperSense is a nice feature to enhance one’s listening experience with touch sensory. Add in the THX spatial audio and it really does raise the gaming experience to elevate the audio within a game. Quality is very nice with hybrid fabric and leatherette memory foam cushions to provide a comfortable over-the-ear fit for an extended period of time. The fit of these headphones is a bit snug, but this is typical since our family runs on the large end of the head size scale. Razer Chroma RGB offers plentiful customization of settings and gaming interaction. Mic works well and seems to do a good job of isolating background noise. Note that the headphones have a convenient USB connection instead of an audio jack connection. Overall, we really like these headphones and have been enjoying the great audio experience of HyperSense and THX. Given the features the Razer Kraken V3 offers I feel it is a good value for the price and would expect these to last quite some time and it’s nice that they come with a two year warranty. They would be a nice holiday surprise for the gamer in your family.

Not durable
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Expensive piece of crap. I am a razer fan but this time it failed me. I can hear static from time to time while gaming. Seems it is grounded somehow, thinking might be the cord

Good sound, haptics will take some getting used to
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall I like these headphones. The fit is pretty good and comfortable in terms of the ear cups. The sound is actually quite good but tends to be on a bit of the bassy side. The thx equalizer settings are pretty good and highly customizable. If you are using Razer synapse and have other lighting devices it will sync with those devices as well. Biggest con is with the USB cable. It tends to be on a bit of the short side. And because it's hardwired to the left cup it has to cross across my chest in order to plug into my PC. In a lot of ways I think I would have preferred it either be a modular connection or connected to the right cup so that it didn't have to cross across me. It uses a standard USB-A connector, which is a bit dated at this point. Onto the haptics, I expected this to be a new experience and it definitely didn't prove me wrong. At first it was a little jarring and I didn't mind it while playing OverWatch. However as time went on I became less and less amused by the functionality. I don't know that it made me feel any more immersed in the game then not having it. There's a button on the right ear cup that enables you to turn in off or increase or decrease intensity. So that is pretty convenient when you need to disable it because it is not something you want to use when just watching videos or standard browsing. Overall I don't know that I would recommend this functionality to a friend because I don't know that it's worth the effort in the end. Neat gimmick, but it's pretty much just that a gimmick. I would however consider recommending them for a decent sounding set of headphones. Because at the end of the day they do sound pretty good.

Out of the Box Amazing
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had many headphones over the years. I've had some big named ones that were simply okay. But I've never had a set of headphones that sounded like this - or felt like this! Yes, FELT LIKE THIS! Not only do these headphones do a nice job of producing high notes, but they don't sound tinny when it comes to bass. And these headphones vibrate as they reproduce the bass which blew me away. I'm not normally all that impressed with bass as today it seems that sound reproduction concentrates on how much noise can be generated without regard for a balance of high notes and low ones. These are now my favorite headphones with sound reproduction and the actual sensation of vibrations on my ears and sides of my head - you can feel the speakers vibrate in an almost three dimensional way. It is as if the sound were layered with highs at one level of hearing while the texture of the beat and vibrations were placed on top of the audio like a cherry on a sundae.

Nice set of headphones
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Headphones are extremely light and very comfortable to wear. Chroma control is nice, though having different setup for different devices would be nice. I haven't been able to determine what it is, either setting or design, but was getting a bit of an echoey sound that is not present with my Kraken v2 set. This does have more bells and whistles, and a more robust sound setup, so it may have something to do with that. Hopefully I can figure it out, but otherwise, very happy with the headset, sound is very nice, and comfort is top notch.

Good sound quality, hard to get used to
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. When I saw the concept of haptic feedback in a headset, I honestly laughed. It sounded absolutely ludicrous, like smart toothbrushes or game streaming. Funnily enough, just like both of those I ended up liking this. It's... bizarre, but in a good way. It sounds pretty decent when listening to music, and the haptics make it feel like you strapped a subwoofer to your face but without the ear damage or audio distortion; which is pretty nice if you're having one of those moments when you want to "feel the bass" without disturbing all of your neighbors at 3AM or whatever. It's like going to a nightclub but the nightclub's your desk. However, this headset was really meant for gaming, and that's where it does best. There, the haptic feedback actually has a purpose and lets you feel where the noise is coming from. In conjunction with the THX audio enhancements and surround sound it's actually a pretty interesting experience. It's very useful for games such as Control, where I'm always getting lost due to the only indicators of where something is being sound. However, for best results, you'll want to fiddle with the audio settings a lot. With the default settings, it might not pick up on the sound you actually want - for instance, when playing Genshin Impact with the default settings all I could hear was gravel crunching whenever I ran. The good thing is, there are lots of settings to change. For instance, there's a setting to normalize sounds so sudden loud ones don't deafen you; or a setting to boost vocals. This is in addition to the equalizer and the surround sound settings. Overall, it's a pretty good headset. The one issue it really has is that since it's got so many features, with some games it doesn't "just work" and you have to actually use the configuration tool to get the settings just right. Additionally, the haptics can take a bit to get used to - they still feel a bit weird to me, for instance. I'd still recommend it, though.
