The Kraken V3 HyperSense is an awesome gaming headset. The build quality is excellent, setup is easy and sound is amazing. The Razer Synapse software is solid and will allow you to customize the sound, RGB, update drivers and more! The comfort level for me was decent. I wear glasses and after a long gaming session I could feel some pressure points on my ears but that was after several hours. Would be nice if they could have some softer foam in the upper part of the earcup to help with this. On the headset there are controls for volume, mic on/off and a button to control the HyperSense haptic technology. The microphone is mounted on the left and is high quality! The HyperSense itself is an amazing feature that provides next level immersion. Having your head rumble during explosions or other high action moments in games is so cool! One thing I want to note about the HyperSense is that you will probably want it off or set very low while watching a movie or listening to music. If it is turned up too high you will get rumbling throughout your head during dialogue or quieter parts of music. To me the haptic feedback felt very artificial in these instances. If you’re in the market for an excellent Razer headset with incredible immersion, then pick this up!

The Razor Hypersense Headset is built beautifully. The padding Material is very comfortable to wear for long periods. The quality of the audio is pretty good and with the hyper sense option it takes gaming to another level, making the sound of a bomb feel like you were there. The Microphone is great BUT its attachable, which I can probably loose it easily. I would prefer already attached to the headset. Other than that its a very great headset.

These are the best headphones I ever had for gaming. I usually use cheap earbuds for gaming, but now I am fully converted. The sound quality is pretty outstanding and it blocks distracting outside noise. The haptic feedback is a game changer!!! I also use these for conference calls with no problems.

On looks alone, the Kraken V3 HyperSense is certainly designed to look like the quintessential gamer’s headset. These headphones are quite big and a bit on the heavy side. However, the semi-flexible plush headband and plush pleather-fabric earpads allow for a more comfortable experience. There’s enough clamping force to keep them on in the heat of the moment, but not as tight as to make wearing glasses impossible. I do wish the cups would have swivel as it is rather uncomfortable to leave them around the neck. These do not fold in, making them less portable. I like the matte black/glossy finish and there’s RGB lighting, of course. The mic mute button and volume rocker are placed on the left cup, are tactile, and are easy to get used to. The volume rocker spins continuously, and I would’ve liked it to have had a stop on the lowest or highest volume setting. I appreciate that the microphone is highly flexible and removable. Speaking of the mic, I found that it worked rather well. My voice came in loud and clear with minimal distortion. I did notice that placing the mic closer makes it sound better, since keyboard typing, and other noises can still be heard. The sound quality is what you would expect from Razer. It is more on the warm side. Having The bass is strong, punchy, and there is a lot of subwoofer-like depth. The mids come in clear and the highs are right where I like them. There’s great channel separation and plenty of soundstage right out of the box, and the headset works well with both Windows Sonic and Dolby Atmos. I enjoyed every gaming or movie genre I tried. Having 50mm Drivers, these can get pretty loud, and I can certainly tell that these are THX certified. The V3 HyperSense is fully wired via a long USB-A cord, which is not removable. This allows them to be plug-and-play compatible. However, when plugging them in for the first time, you are prompted to install the Razing Gaming Software app. While it is not necessary to do so, installing the app provides a lot of quality-of-life benefits. There, you can adjust the microphone, spatial (surround sound) levels, EQ, Chroma RGB lighting, and haptic feedback, or force feedback as some might call it. In addition to the all-too-popular RGB lighting which can get quite bright on either cup’s logo, there’s the haptic technology, where the cups vibrate in response to whatever you are listening to, or in specific games, respond to certain events -sort of like a game controller. There are three levels that can be changed with a button on the right cup. In my experience, I found that this can make for a great gaming session, and other times I immediately had to turn it off, as it can get intense and even distracting -especially when playing FPS games. Nevertheless, I am certainly glad this feature is included, as it adds a higher level of gaming experience -when appropriate. In the end, I am enjoying these headphones quite a bit. They are comfortable, have good sound, have nice soundstage and spatial sound, are backed by robust software and do not break the bank. Now the haptic feedback may be a gimmick, but a gimmick I gladly welcome.

I have owned many Razer products over the years including mice, keyboards, and headsets. These products helped give me a competitive edge while gaming. I currently have two gaming systems in my home but only one headset that I move back and forth depending on where I want to game. Needing to add another headset I was excited to get the Razer Kraken V3 HyperSense wired 7.1 surround sound gaming headset. In the box you’ll find the headset, the detachable HyperClear Cardioid Mic, and a manual. I was immediately impressed with the build quality of the headset. The steel reinforced frame feels really well made. The Razer Kraken V3 looks very similar to my other Razer headset which makes sense since it is the Kraken 7.1 V2. Improved here however is a noticeable addition of padding on the headband. After attaching the mic I was eager to slip them on. The thick padding on the head band and the memory foam ear pads make them feel extremely comfortable. I also noticed a mic on/off button and a volume control knob on the left ear cup. On the opposite ear cup you also find a button to control the intensity of the Razer HyperSense. All of these on headset controls will come in handy to easily make adjustments while in game. I was now eager to try them out. Upon plugging the cable into a USB port I was somewhat disappointed by the stiffness of the cable. Hopefully it will relax over time. The Razer Synapse 3 software installed automatically when connected to my pc. Probably because I had the prior version already installed. During the installation you can opt to install additional software modules or you can install them later within the Synapse app. I was happy to see Alexa included. Upon launching Synapse it prompts you to sign up for an account or you can sign in if you already have one. Within the app you find a multitude of settings on various tabs for sound, mixer, enhancement, mic, and lighting. As I joined a game the real disappointment started. First off you’ll quickly notice the Razer HyperSense effect which provides haptic vibration feedback from the ear cups based on the noises during gameplay. I found this feature to be incredibly annoying and distracting. I’m betting you will too. Next I noticed while listening to my mic that I had a few millisecond delay and my voice sounded off, somehow unnatural. I’m assuming due to some processing of the audio signal. As I continue gaming I found the sound muddy with somewhat of an annoying echo. I also found the surround sound to be oddly non-immersive. It just wasn’t seamless as you moved through an environment. The sound instead seemed to drop out periodically. Razer states in the included paperwork that “sound is just as important as sight when you’re in game”. I could not agree more. Being able to clearly hear audio cues in game gives you an incredible edge against other players. But so far the Razer Kraken V3 wasn’t giving me an edge. Instead I was experiencing multiple distractions to my gameplay. After adjusting settings within Synapse 3 I found that turning off HyperSense and THX Spatial audio helped correct some of these distractions. But, I’m baffled why I would need to turn off 2 features in order to improve audio? Overall I’m not a fan of this product.

Good headphones, hypersense haptic feedback is surprisingly very good. The free shipping was fast so that was good.
