SUMMARY: If you want plug and play without spending time exploring the settings, there are cheaper alternatives. But look no further if you enjoy customizing the sound (and RGB!) stage, this sounds great with amazing base and looks just as good. It’s perfect for those that take pride in their gaming rig and want the best. PROs - Sound quality is great particularly on the low ends giving oomph to explosions and weapon sounds. - Easy to wear for extended period of time, comfortable, well fitting, reasonable weight makes it easy to wear - Excellent wireless connection, could walk around the house and it stay connected. - Great battery life. - Quality construction, durable MATTER OF TASTE - Tethered to a bulky base, so not good for laptop portability. It can be used without it, but don’t get all the features. - Doesn’t reach its full potential until you spend time tweaking all the options. - Microphone quality is good for a retractable microphone - I liked the haptics that added a more physical sensation, but they need tweaking to taste. -Controls, controls, controls, with great power comes great responsibility. Sure, some like all that control at your fingertips, some might find its more clutter on the desk. CONs -Manual controls means if you tune the haptics per game, you must remember the settings for optimal results. Is that a con? MORE WORDS First and foremost, these fit really well. Some over the ear headsets can make my ears sweat, these don’t. The cushions are plush, yes there is some heft to it, but I wore them for hours with no problem (headsets are no good if you can’t wear them). The sound stage is amazing with games, really feels 3D. It’s great for movies and music as well, so you are getting your money’s worth…. but obviously if ALL you want is great sound there are other choices. And options? Way too many to count, so many you get not one but two apps to control, synapse 4 and chroma, not to mention the physical controller hub. And how about 4 different ways to connect, including wireless. You can connect your phone and game at the same time. And it comes with three different adapter cables. RGB you say? Yep, though it’s on your ear cups and you won’t see it. But if you have a rocking RGB computer system, you will fit right in. And for me, sometimes I want simplicity. This is not that. It’s a tweakers dream come true for sure. The final results are really impressive. But if you don’t want to tweak, you might not find this to be a good value. You are paying for all those controls. And I think that’s my wrap up on who is this for, the gamer that wants the ultimate in audio visual ear tech for the desktop rig and loves to tweak. Truly the best of times and the worst of times. 5 stars if you want to immerse yourself in your headset, 4 stars if you don’t.

For what these headphones cost, you think you're getting high quality sound. However, this could not be further from the truth. This headset sounds like a $20 knockoff you get from amazon. Absolutely horrid sound and bass is terrible and they attempt to make it up with the "haptics". Haptics are ok at best. Also, heads up, if you look at the specs here on best buy, it says they are "Active Noise Cancelling: Yes"....its just the mic and that does not even sound good. Astro's outperform this in every sense at a lesser price point. I recommend Steel Series, Audeze, Astro, ANYTHING but these headphones.

I swore off of Razer products but picked these up for an amazing price. However, after using them twice, I realized the sound was awful even in the other settings. I had a better experience with the Kraken v3s.

Out of the box this headset can look a little intimidating to due to all the fancy parts. However, setup is very easy. First, is to charge the headset with the included USB-C cable. Second, is to connect the control box with either a USB-C to USB-C connection or aux connection depending on what device you are pairing it with. It can be easily paired with a PC or gaming system. Finally, is to download the Synapse app to manage features. All basic control features can be controlled directly from the control box (sound type, volume, equalizer, haptic feedback & input source). The wealth of features is simple to control through the Synapse application. I have mine connected to a gaming PC and set to Game sound mode. What really sets this headset apart is the THX Spatial audio. There are presets for the latest gaming titles, such as the COD titles. In game sounds are amazing and you can tell which direction footsteps are coming from. To add to this amazing feature, the earpieces actually have haptic feedback, similar to a gaming controller. Explosions and gunshots really get your attention! There is RGB lighting on the headset that can be adjusted as well to your taste. Even the control panel can be set to a really cool screensaver animation. For their size, they are very light and yet seem to be very sturdy. They are well padded and stay comfortable and cool during long gaming sessions. The mic can be telescoped out or retracted out of the way. The tip lights up red to let you know when it is muted. There are also helpful audio prompts each time a feature is selected. All the controls (power, volume, mute, etc.) are easy to get to and control as well. It includes a handy cloth bag to store or put in when traveling. This is by far the most comfortable, best sounding and most immersive gaming controller I've used. It is worth the premium price to pair with your expensive gaming outfits to get the most of the audio experience.

I’ve been putting this thing through its paces the last few weeks and it has keeps on impressing me with it’s functionality, customization, and premium feel and performance. Out of the box everything is pretty straightforward, but I still went through the instructions and they can be a bit cumbersome but I figured everything out just fine! Battery life has been amazing, literally the best out of any of my headsets I’ve ever used. Charged it up once and I haven’t charged it since. The best part of this headset in my opinion is the premium feel and how comfortable it is to wear for a long period. The headband is soft and has a great cushion, the ear cups have just the right amount of pressure without being too tight, and the sound and mic quality is fantastic! Using this for my gaming has been simple and intuitive and best of all, glitch free. No issues with any weird glitches or sound cutting out like my old headset had, no more complaints from others about my muffled voice or my voice cutting out mid game and best of all no more having to charge my headset in the middle of a game session!

Overall – this is a really premium game headset. With the notable exception of what I noted in the tile it checks all the boxes that you would want and then some. Touch and feel – this has a really heavy-duty feel. The sides have some extra material that gives it a bit of rigidity that you don’t get with their downline headsets. I also found them to be extremely comfortable and was able to wear them for quite some time. The memory foam with the cloth keeps cool for hours on end. Setup/Connections – they connect automatically to my PS and took a bit of finagling on my XBOX but I’m used to that, not the headset's fault. I did connect it to my laptop via the USB and it was fairly easy. With all of the different ways to connect, I would say you’d be hard-pressed to find something that you could not connect to. Functionality – Let's start with the sound – this may be the best sound set on the market. It was really the strong point. I used for the most part the plain stereo setting with minimal EQ adjustment to get the best sound profile for me. That said there are lots of customizable features that I am sure you can tune to meet whatever you prefer. Next the mic – the real drawback, not much I can say good – my friends said “Sounds like you at the bottom of a barrel”. I could not find any adjustments that correct any of the shortcomings here. The accessories that come with this are top-notch – all the cables have a very premium feel. The OLEd hub is nice as it allows for a switch between sources, along with several other pretty cool features This allowed for jumps between games and computer calls. Battery life – Barrty life seems to be on par with others in this category I was able to use it for games for a couple of days before I needed to charge it, I didn’t check the amount of bat left but I usually charge any headset every couple of days so this one is in line Other – I have to mention the Haptics – honestly I was not a big fan – it is really cool but found it a bit off-putting during gameplay at anything above a 1. You may like it if so this will not disappoint Overall I would give this a 4+ star rating however the mic is the real downside as compared to others in this price range or even the next step down.

I had to return and replace the first pair I purchased as only the right ear would work consistently. After returning, I have constant issues with the mic volume lowering itself (likely Teams as I use these for work as well) and the THX audio not working consistently.

The Razer Kraken V4 Pro is by far one of the best gaming headsets if not the best headset available. The audio range on this headset is impressive, and every test I've thrown at it as been passed by flying colors. Synapse 4 was easy enough to setup and settings seemed to make sense. More on the microphone settings later, but largely the UI was straight-forward and simple (exactly as it should be in my opinion). Audio wise, I personally setup the THX Spatial Audio to fully enhance the headset. This was then tested on a few games, one of which required the spatial audio and was pinpoint accurate. Setup for the audio "subsystem" was simple and worked off the bat. There is some muddling though on occasion, but I have found that appears to be from Synapse 4 and the audio equalizer rather than the headset itself. Chroma wise, even though I can't see if while using the device, there are plenty of options through the software and easily connected to my Razer keyboard and mouse. Turning this off does definitely increase battery life. Speaking of the battery, the device will run easily all day with the right settings. I personally do not like haptics in the headset and have them disabled. Lighting (after testing the Chroma) was disabled as well to further extend the battery. That said, there is zero performance loss with the lower battery. The headset will perform as normal even at 5%. The battery is also a quick 2ish hours, while in use via USB, recharge time. I normally leave this plugged into a charger while asleep though and battery will be at the full 100% regardless. The microphone is very sensitive. My speech was loud in the earpiece. This was corrected with the "Low" noise gate along with other settings. Without synapse the loudness was not present and similar to other headsets. The synapse software does take some iteration and attention to detail to find your best settings. The OLED base is robust and will not slide on the desk even with a good amount of force. The screen is single color, and while I wish it multicolored , it is still very readable and has a profesional look.. At the time of writing this review though, there is the only one issue with the headset overall: the built-in home screen "Headset Info" is extremely pixelated. The headset is new enough to not have any firmware package to re-install through Razer's website, but the issue has been reported and appears to be tied to Synapse 4. Without Synapse 4, though, this one home page is still pixelated. There are work arounds though, with the software controlling it, the System Information home page will show the battery life accurately. It is important to mention that no other sections of the OLED screen are pixelated, the one home page is the only issue. I received quick feedback from Razer that this is a know (and minor) issue and will be corrected with planned updated firmware. Finally, Bluetooth! I may be incorrect, but this seems to be the first headset from Razer with simulcast with both Bluetooth and the 2.4 GHz connection to the base active at the same time. This was done with flying colors and there is zero audio degrade with Bluetooth. However, it cannot be used while charging the device. The quality of both the audio and the microphone are the exact same as the regular connection. This is a great feature for my use case. In summary, this headset is definitely 5/5, with a half point off (BB does not have 1/2 stars) for the microphone issue and specific base readout issue . Between the audio clarity and quality, battery life, and the addition Bluetooth, this headset can be used for both work and gaming. I have happy that Razer has created such a high end headset.

This product simply isn't worth the asking price. The build quality is questionable, the software required to make full use of this headset is awful and buggy, and the microphone quality is awful. I've had nothing but headaches while using this thing and never have I been more happy knowing I purchased an extended warranty.

I've used many high-end headsets, but the Razer Kraken V4 Pro has truly redefined my expectations of what premium gaming audio should feel like. From build quality to immersive features—this headset is in a league of its own. Audio & Sound Quality – 10/10 The sound is incredibly crisp and clear, with powerful bass and razor-sharp highs. Whether I’m gaming, watching movies, or listening to Qur’an recitations, the audio is perfectly balanced. It delivers a studio-level soundstage that pulls you right into the moment. Sensa HD Haptics – Immersion Like Never Before This is where the V4 Pro truly shines. The adjustable haptic feedback (Off, Low, Medium, High) makes you feel every explosion, every footstep, and every beat. On High, it’s like your headset is alive—but for longer sessions, I personally love Medium for the perfect balance between immersion and comfort. Smart Design – OLED Control Hub The OLED Base Station is sleek, intuitive, and adds convenience with customizable audio settings and charging functionality. I love that I can use it for dual setups: Bluetooth for my laptop, AUX or USB-C for my PS5. Switching between systems is smooth and instant. Versatility – One Headset, Many Uses Bluetooth for wireless music or meetings. AUX cable for direct console use (e.g., PS5 controller). USB-C to PC/Console for full-featured gaming (haptics, mic, surround). It’s compatible, flexible, and future-proof. Comfort – Designed for Long Gaming Sessions The ear cushions are ultra-soft and breathable, even with long hours of wear. The build feels premium and lightweight yet solid. I often forget I’m even wearing them. Mic Quality – Clear & Natural The microphone delivers crystal-clear voice capture, whether I’m chatting on Discord or in-game. It cancels out background noise effortlessly and sounds natural. Why It’s Worth Every Penny: Unique haptics that no other headset truly offers this well. Multi-platform compatibility. Amazing audio performance out of the box. Razer's attention to design, utility, and comfort. No annoying dongles—just pure, clean, intelligent connectivity. Final Verdict: The Razer Kraken V4 Pro isn't just a headset—it's an experience. It's perfect for gamers, content creators, students, and anyone who values audio excellence. Razer has truly delivered a next-gen headset that sets a new bar.
