So Much for So Little
|Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I swore off of Razer products but picked these up for an amazing price. However, after using them twice, I realized the sound was awful even in the other settings. I had a better experience with the Kraken v3s.

Simple setup and advanced features
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Out of the box this headset can look a little intimidating to due to all the fancy parts. However, setup is very easy. First, is to charge the headset with the included USB-C cable. Second, is to connect the control box with either a USB-C to USB-C connection or aux connection depending on what device you are pairing it with. It can be easily paired with a PC or gaming system. Finally, is to download the Synapse app to manage features. All basic control features can be controlled directly from the control box (sound type, volume, equalizer, haptic feedback & input source). The wealth of features is simple to control through the Synapse application. I have mine connected to a gaming PC and set to Game sound mode. What really sets this headset apart is the THX Spatial audio. There are presets for the latest gaming titles, such as the COD titles. In game sounds are amazing and you can tell which direction footsteps are coming from. To add to this amazing feature, the earpieces actually have haptic feedback, similar to a gaming controller. Explosions and gunshots really get your attention! There is RGB lighting on the headset that can be adjusted as well to your taste. Even the control panel can be set to a really cool screensaver animation. For their size, they are very light and yet seem to be very sturdy. They are well padded and stay comfortable and cool during long gaming sessions. The mic can be telescoped out or retracted out of the way. The tip lights up red to let you know when it is muted. There are also helpful audio prompts each time a feature is selected. All the controls (power, volume, mute, etc.) are easy to get to and control as well. It includes a handy cloth bag to store or put in when traveling. This is by far the most comfortable, best sounding and most immersive gaming controller I've used. It is worth the premium price to pair with your expensive gaming outfits to get the most of the audio experience.

Excellent headset for gaming and more!!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My go to headset for years now has been the Astro A50 Gen 2. I use it for not only gaming but for all audio coming from my TV. And it has been great with no need to change until now. I wanted to give the Kraken a try for the same use case and I am pleased to say it does everything the A50 did and more! Of course this is designed for gaming and it does that very well. Games have excellent sound with great location of enemies and ambient noises too. And the big difference is the HD haptics. So if you are playing with a game controller that has vibration you get not only the controllers vibration but the headsets haptics as well which is (pun intended) a game changer! Hard to describe with words. The sound is excellent with crisp highs and lows that are not overdone. Which is the way I like it. And as well as gaming movies and music sound amazing as well. The headset itself is a bit on the heavy side and Im sure this is due to the 40mm drivers. So adding a bit of weight to get excellent tight bass is worth it. The headset is built well and with almost every one Ive had I have to max out the band to get it to fit due to my large head but thankfully it fits perfect at its max. It supports all of my gaming consoles, PCs, and my Sony TV. And although it runs at 2.4ghz which several other of my devices do Ive had no interference issues. Battery life is excellent and can be extended if you turn off the RGB and haptics. I prefer RGB off with haptics on and the battery has always lasted through my sessions and then some. The control hub has a very nice OLED screen that is easy to adjust. And it has several presets and set up for a custom EQ as well. So after years I am finally replacing my A50 with the Kraken. I didnt think Id every want to, but the Kraken headset has won me over. Highly recommended not just for gaming but for all audio!!

Buy Blacksharks instead
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had to return and replace the first pair I purchased as only the right ear would work consistently. After returning, I have constant issues with the mic volume lowering itself (likely Teams as I use these for work as well) and the THX audio not working consistently.

Buy literally anything else
||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This product simply isn't worth the asking price. The build quality is questionable, the software required to make full use of this headset is awful and buggy, and the microphone quality is awful. I've had nothing but headaches while using this thing and never have I been more happy knowing I purchased an extended warranty.

Zones me into whatever I am hearing!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is probably the best Razer headset that has ever laid on my ears. Though it has a quirk or two, it has pretty good features that left me wanting it each time I use it. First of all, right out of the box, the build is impressive. It has a very premium feel. The design looks like studio audiophile headphones (with the exception of the RGB). It is made of very good quality materials. The head band is flexible but durable. The cups that fold quarter way in, are the right proportion to the whole headset with buttons that have this responsive click without being intrusive, and the leatherette is oh so plush. Even the cables are of good quality, though other Razers have that. The microphone slides in and out with the right amount of tension. It even comes with a bag, just to probably keep it away from dust. The hub is made of seemingly dust-resistant plastic that has a solid weight and feel. The oled screen is sharp and a good decision to minimize desk brightness to only the necessary info. The dial movement is precise and button responds well to touch. Setting up is a breeze as it is paired to the hub and Bluetooth is like any other, which I connected to my phone. The hub acts as a switcher for PC, console and Aux. I don’t have any more source for Aux so that’s one less function for me. But PC and console is pretty useful. My PS5 is connected to the big TV at the living room but hardly gets used out there vs. here in my office where I remote play in it all the time. This makes it easier for me to bring my console in (and not deal with that half ms lag) then not have to switch plugs or headphones when I play on PC or PS5. Pretty convenient. The Synapse app has everything I need to customize plus it recognized my games that I usually play. It is great but kind of overwhelming because when I go to specific Kraken Pro settings, I have so much options to choose from. Good thing I can match the profile with a specific game. So I can do movie mode with RDR2 or disable haptics on a turn-based game (Raid), -- all these I set up in the app, even lighting, etc. Then I have almost everything I need for on-the-go customization in the hub, such as haptic intensity and audio EQ. So I did a lot of my precise settings in the Synapse and use the hub as the shortcut. Performance-wise, the sound is great and because of the customizations, the tweaks make it more immersive depending on the game and the type of listening, like feeling the explosions better on movie mode with haptics on or feeling like I am in a rock concert with high haptics and THX spatial on (THX spatial audio adds some echoes to the experience so it feels like there is depth). Or plain movie with no haptics but better dialogues clarity. The microphone output though is a little odd. I kind of sound like a chopper pilot per my wife. There’s the rough texture on the wide range of the microphone output that does not make it sound very crisp. Audio is clear but the sharpnesss is not there—I guess it helps with minimizing the popping of Ps. Headphone buttons are easy to reach and it does not take too long to familiarize myself, like the power button has texture so it’s easy to recognize which button sets are on which side. Comfort-wise, wearing them is good and the buttons are easily recognizable. It firmly presses on my eyeglasses but it does not feel uncomfortable even on long sessions. At least on my 4 hour session, I did not feel any top band irritation or temple pressure. The leatherette though, I am not sure if it will feel warm in time, like in the summer. It is currently winter and though I do AC in the summer, I am afraid the leatherette may feel warm? Nevertheless, it is very comfortable. Overall these are great headphones. 1) Hub helps with switching on platforms, not to mention the ability to take calls on Bluetooth while gaming 2) the customization options makes my experience more engaging, whether it is gaming, watching shorts or listening to music. 3) they are comfortable, have great battery life and have very stable connectivity. I thought I would be taken aback by its price, or hesitant because of having another added unit (hub) on my desk. But all the features literally pay off. The headphones are worthy on being my desk mainstay, and I am sure for most gamers as well.

Really Good but the mic is horrible
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall – this is a really premium game headset. With the notable exception of what I noted in the tile it checks all the boxes that you would want and then some. Touch and feel – this has a really heavy-duty feel. The sides have some extra material that gives it a bit of rigidity that you don’t get with their downline headsets. I also found them to be extremely comfortable and was able to wear them for quite some time. The memory foam with the cloth keeps cool for hours on end. Setup/Connections – they connect automatically to my PS and took a bit of finagling on my XBOX but I’m used to that, not the headset's fault. I did connect it to my laptop via the USB and it was fairly easy. With all of the different ways to connect, I would say you’d be hard-pressed to find something that you could not connect to. Functionality – Let's start with the sound – this may be the best sound set on the market. It was really the strong point. I used for the most part the plain stereo setting with minimal EQ adjustment to get the best sound profile for me. That said there are lots of customizable features that I am sure you can tune to meet whatever you prefer. Next the mic – the real drawback, not much I can say good – my friends said “Sounds like you at the bottom of a barrel”. I could not find any adjustments that correct any of the shortcomings here. The accessories that come with this are top-notch – all the cables have a very premium feel. The OLEd hub is nice as it allows for a switch between sources, along with several other pretty cool features This allowed for jumps between games and computer calls. Battery life – Barrty life seems to be on par with others in this category I was able to use it for games for a couple of days before I needed to charge it, I didn’t check the amount of bat left but I usually charge any headset every couple of days so this one is in line Other – I have to mention the Haptics – honestly I was not a big fan – it is really cool but found it a bit off-putting during gameplay at anything above a 1. You may like it if so this will not disappoint Overall I would give this a 4+ star rating however the mic is the real downside as compared to others in this price range or even the next step down.

Best RGB Wireless Gaming headset I've ever had!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've used many high-end headsets, but the Razer Kraken V4 Pro has truly redefined my expectations of what premium gaming audio should feel like. From build quality to immersive features—this headset is in a league of its own. Audio & Sound Quality – 10/10 The sound is incredibly crisp and clear, with powerful bass and razor-sharp highs. Whether I’m gaming, watching movies, or listening to Qur’an recitations, the audio is perfectly balanced. It delivers a studio-level soundstage that pulls you right into the moment. Sensa HD Haptics – Immersion Like Never Before This is where the V4 Pro truly shines. The adjustable haptic feedback (Off, Low, Medium, High) makes you feel every explosion, every footstep, and every beat. On High, it’s like your headset is alive—but for longer sessions, I personally love Medium for the perfect balance between immersion and comfort. Smart Design – OLED Control Hub The OLED Base Station is sleek, intuitive, and adds convenience with customizable audio settings and charging functionality. I love that I can use it for dual setups: Bluetooth for my laptop, AUX or USB-C for my PS5. Switching between systems is smooth and instant. Versatility – One Headset, Many Uses Bluetooth for wireless music or meetings. AUX cable for direct console use (e.g., PS5 controller). USB-C to PC/Console for full-featured gaming (haptics, mic, surround). It’s compatible, flexible, and future-proof. Comfort – Designed for Long Gaming Sessions The ear cushions are ultra-soft and breathable, even with long hours of wear. The build feels premium and lightweight yet solid. I often forget I’m even wearing them. Mic Quality – Clear & Natural The microphone delivers crystal-clear voice capture, whether I’m chatting on Discord or in-game. It cancels out background noise effortlessly and sounds natural. Why It’s Worth Every Penny: Unique haptics that no other headset truly offers this well. Multi-platform compatibility. Amazing audio performance out of the box. Razer's attention to design, utility, and comfort. No annoying dongles—just pure, clean, intelligent connectivity. Final Verdict: The Razer Kraken V4 Pro isn't just a headset—it's an experience. It's perfect for gamers, content creators, students, and anyone who values audio excellence. Razer has truly delivered a next-gen headset that sets a new bar.

This Razer will cut your wallet a bit!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have used a number of "gaming" headsets and without a doubt these are hands down the nicest set of headphones I have ever used. Immediately upon taking them out of the box the heft of them gave it an amazing feel of quality to them. The leatherette headband and ear cups are super soft and offer great cushion. The cups are removeable I wonder if another company can make Gel Cups for them at some point. I have had other gaming headphones where the pleather broke down on both the ear cups AND the headband and looked like trash, even though they still worked. But build quality wasn't anything impressive with those other headsets. They felt plasticky all around and creaked when manipulating them. The Kraken v4 Pro is solid and the cups move so smoothly. One thing for sure is that there will be no distracting creaks or squeaks from this set. Even drawing the mic from it's cave is smooth and makes no discernable noise. While there is a nice heft to the headset, the Krakens do not grab my head as tight as I'd like. I don't want them clamped to cause pressure, but a little bit firmer would be my preference. The Krakens can be used with a multitude of connections, from bluetooth 5.3 direct to my android phone, usb wired connection, 3.5mm and the 2.4ghz connection to the Control pod. I'm surprised no RGB on the control pod but the simple controls got me up and running without any hassle. The control pod does what it's supposed to to do and looks and feels nice providing a quick and seamless connection to your PC or PS5, but I can't help but wonder how much the headset would be without it vs having a simple USB receiver. Value in the control pod would be built in Razer Synapse software/controls so that I wouldn't use yet another app to control my peripherals. In this case however, I already had Razer software on my main PC so it wasn't too bad. But if i plugged in the Control Pod to my laptop sans Synapse, it would be great if I had full control without adding bloat to another computer. I have no complaints regarding sound quality for gaming, crisp and clear. I prefer hearing (game) voices over sound effect, music and background noise and with some tweaking I can focus more on what is being said over ambient noises. I wish I had this level of control over many movies. Music over bluetooth via YouTube Music sounds as great. The quality of the mic is just ok. I don't feel the mic is meant for phone calls or video conferencing. Others have told me on calls that my voice sounds a bit flat, although the mic does a decent job at filtering out the background noise. The mic is more than capable at game chat (even thought I don't talk to strangers) while gaming. There is 1 thing that a set of gaming headphones at this price point I think should have and 1 nice to have that is missing. Noise cancelling, which even without them, being over the ear headphones and having sound pumped into my ears, so that would be the nice to have. The should have would be the ability to have an ambient passthrough mode. I understand that headphones are intended for immersion, but if I have these on and someone comes to my door or someone at home needs me and calls my name, well I can't hear the. It would be great to at least have that as a selectable mode. The only thing I can do now is to wear 1 ear cup off but due to the heft of the headphones they don't feel as secure on my head. Especially if they start vibrating with the haptic feedback. Speaking of the haptic feedback, it is kinda cool at first, and it adds to the overall immersive experience, but I generally don't like anything vibrating, even haptic feedback controllers so if I can turn it down or off, I usually. But it's cool to show off. The Razer Kraken v4 Pro is a premium headset and priced accordingly, definitely a luxury item and not a must have. The step down from this model at about 55% off will net you MOST of the features so it's good to see that razer if offering options. The Kraken v4 Pros have not disappointed me for fit, finish and performance, they are the most expensive set of headphones I have ever owned and it does leave me impressed but they ain't cheap. As Ferris Bueller once said, "If you have the means, I highly recommend picking one up."

Love this thing!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve been putting this thing through its paces the last few weeks and it has keeps on impressing me with it’s functionality, customization, and premium feel and performance. Out of the box everything is pretty straightforward, but I still went through the instructions and they can be a bit cumbersome but I figured everything out just fine! Battery life has been amazing, literally the best out of any of my headsets I’ve ever used. Charged it up once and I haven’t charged it since. The best part of this headset in my opinion is the premium feel and how comfortable it is to wear for a long period. The headband is soft and has a great cushion, the ear cups have just the right amount of pressure without being too tight, and the sound and mic quality is fantastic! Using this for my gaming has been simple and intuitive and best of all, glitch free. No issues with any weird glitches or sound cutting out like my old headset had, no more complaints from others about my muffled voice or my voice cutting out mid game and best of all no more having to charge my headset in the middle of a game session!

Great design, but lacking audio quality.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve had the opportunity to try this Razer Kraken V4 Pro Wireless Gaming Headset for a couple weeks now, and I have mixed feelings about the headset for the following reasons. Here are some of the things I really liked: Comfortable Fit: The ear cushions are pleather, and they were comfortable for my ears for long gaming sessions (4-5 hours at times). Although the headset feels a bit sturdy, it did not feel heavy on the head at all. Build Quality: The headset looks prestigue and the design is great. The RGB touch on the sides look unique to other gaming headsets I’ve tried, and it honestly looks super cool in the dark. The material is for the most part hard plastic, but I am not concern about long-term durability. I think these will last for some time. Battery Life: The battery life is great. I probably gamed for about 25 hours and never got a warning of running out of battery. I do not use haptics so keep that in mind. Control Hub: The control hub is great. Make it easy to control without having to open that app. Some of the things I did not like: Sound Quality: I was using another set of premium headsets before trying these Kraken V4 Pro, and I was excited because I was hoping these would replace that other headset, but I don’t think that’s going to be the case. The Razer app does not have audio profiles for individual games, and so I spent a lot of time trying to play with the EQ, and unfortunately I was not able to find an audio profile that help made the sound as good or better than my older headset. Microphone Quality: The mic works for casual gaming, but sometimes I need to record voice messages for work, and I was hoping I could use the microphone and unfortunately it’s not the greatest. Overall, I was hoping a bit more quality sound from these awesome looking headphones. The sound is a 3/5 stars for me, but the looks and design is a 6/5. Unfortunately, these are gaming headphones not style headphones, and so for me they were a 3/5 because sound is the most important factor.

Very good with minor issues
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Razer Kraken V4 Pro is by far one of the best gaming headsets if not the best headset available. The audio range on this headset is impressive, and every test I've thrown at it as been passed by flying colors. Synapse 4 was easy enough to setup and settings seemed to make sense. More on the microphone settings later, but largely the UI was straight-forward and simple (exactly as it should be in my opinion). Audio wise, I personally setup the THX Spatial Audio to fully enhance the headset. This was then tested on a few games, one of which required the spatial audio and was pinpoint accurate. Setup for the audio "subsystem" was simple and worked off the bat. There is some muddling though on occasion, but I have found that appears to be from Synapse 4 and the audio equalizer rather than the headset itself. Chroma wise, even though I can't see if while using the device, there are plenty of options through the software and easily connected to my Razer keyboard and mouse. Turning this off does definitely increase battery life. Speaking of the battery, the device will run easily all day with the right settings. I personally do not like haptics in the headset and have them disabled. Lighting (after testing the Chroma) was disabled as well to further extend the battery. That said, there is zero performance loss with the lower battery. The headset will perform as normal even at 5%. The battery is also a quick 2ish hours, while in use via USB, recharge time. I normally leave this plugged into a charger while asleep though and battery will be at the full 100% regardless. The microphone is very sensitive. My speech was loud in the earpiece. This was corrected with the "Low" noise gate along with other settings. Without synapse the loudness was not present and similar to other headsets. The synapse software does take some iteration and attention to detail to find your best settings. The OLED base is robust and will not slide on the desk even with a good amount of force. The screen is single color, and while I wish it multicolored , it is still very readable and has a profesional look.. At the time of writing this review though, there is the only one issue with the headset overall: the built-in home screen "Headset Info" is extremely pixelated. The headset is new enough to not have any firmware package to re-install through Razer's website, but the issue has been reported and appears to be tied to Synapse 4. Without Synapse 4, though, this one home page is still pixelated. There are work arounds though, with the software controlling it, the System Information home page will show the battery life accurately. It is important to mention that no other sections of the OLED screen are pixelated, the one home page is the only issue. I received quick feedback from Razer that this is a know (and minor) issue and will be corrected with planned updated firmware. Finally, Bluetooth! I may be incorrect, but this seems to be the first headset from Razer with simulcast with both Bluetooth and the 2.4 GHz connection to the base active at the same time. This was done with flying colors and there is zero audio degrade with Bluetooth. However, it cannot be used while charging the device. The quality of both the audio and the microphone are the exact same as the regular connection. This is a great feature for my use case. In summary, this headset is definitely 5/5, with a half point off (BB does not have 1/2 stars) for the microphone issue and specific base readout issue . Between the audio clarity and quality, battery life, and the addition Bluetooth, this headset can be used for both work and gaming. I have happy that Razer has created such a high end headset.
