Exceptional hardware, serious software issues
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First things first, the mouse looks beautiful as one would expect from Razer; the packaging was awe-inspiring and professional as always. I especially like the aesthetic metal grating at the front of the mouse. I'm just hoping that the rubberized black coating holds up. Now, my review of this product will of course be impacted by my past peripheral experience, notably the Logitech G602. The Good: - The tracking is undeniably superior. The naga was even able to track on a clear plastic cup. - Though it takes some tweaking to get it just right, the 16,000 cpi (counts per inch) feature with 1000 hz poling makes for seriously smooth mouse movement. - The option to enable different x and y sensitivities is a very appealing feature. - The braided cable is attractive, and looks to be pretty durable. - The lighting is very aesthetically pleasing, and I love being able to change the colors of the mouse wheel, logo, and thumb grid independently. - The right side of the mouse was designed quite nicely and is very comfortable to rest one's index and pinkie finger on. - The scroll wheel feels quite robust and features horizontal buttons (and looks pretty awesome with the rgb lighting). - Also, I love that the lights can be made to turn off when the display is shut off. - Although I haven't personally used these, the statistical features are a really neat idea. The Bad: - The concave button design on the left side of the mouse (the thumb grid as it is referred to) feels somewhat awkward to rest one's thumb against, but at least you can grip the mouse reasonably tightly without triggering the buttons. - The thumb grid will take some serious getting used to (this was a gift, otherwise I'd have gotten the Naga Hex v2). - The two buttons for adjusting the cpi (incorrectly called dpi or sensitivity) are not at all conducive to mid-gaming changes as opposed to the G602, whose buttons are located right off the left button. The Ugly: - Z-axis bug: lifting the mouse at all (say to re-position it on the mousepad/desk) causes the cursor (or reticle when in game) to move down and to the right. This apparently is a long known issue which has never been addressed. I tried adjusting the surface calibration, and sometimes it seems to work when the liftoff range is reduced, but sometimes it doesn't. I've managed to reduce the jump considerably (at one point, the cursor literally jumped half the height of my monitor) so that it only moves a fraction of an inch, but the problem seems to come and go sporadically, which is seriously concerning. To add insult to injury, I'm using the Razer Goliathus Mobile mousepad; there is literally no reason for the calibration between two of Razer's own products to not perform flawlessly. One would expect that reducing the liftoff to the minimal amount would mean that the mouse should actually have trouble tracking on a mouse-pad (which is textured) as opposed to a desk. Not the case here. Also, upon adjusting the liftoff range, and then bringing it back down to the minimum, the problem once again resurfaced and would not go away until a manual reset was completed. - Mouse Acceleration: although there is a slider bar ranging from 0 to 10, there are really only two options; there is no discernible difference between 1 and 10. It's often a neglected feature, but I personally like being able to quickly set my sights on a target with a flick (rather than a long drag of the mouse) and then achieve pin-point accuracy by moving the mouse slowly. This may very well just be a problem with Windows 10 drivers, but the product package specifically states that it is suitable for Windows 10. Razer's Synapse software does not update automatically upon changes made in Windows Settings, and actually requires you to move sliders off and then back onto the desired setting to take effect. Conclusion: By raw specs, this mouse is at the top of its game. If everything with the software was perfect, It would be a pretty great deal at $80. It has a great range of customization for hotkeys and macros, and the tracking is wonderful. However, because of the bugs in the software and mediocre button placement, I really can't say that the mouse is good or reliable enough to justify that cost. A lot of the options implemented in the software are fantastic, and would provide a great degree of functionality and customization...if they all worked. The 16,000 dpi with 1000hz poling should be perfect for a 4k monitor or above. I notice the smoothness of motion on my 2k, but it's marginally better than the G602. Generally speaking, you can make use of the full dpi capability by simply reducing the sensitivity in your mouse settings, though this doesn't necessarily carry over to gaming applications. I had a hard time deciding between giving this product 3 or 4 stars, but the z-axis bug is too serious for me to ignore. I'd happily recommend the Naga Chroma to a friend at $50 or less, but not for $80.

Wonderful for gaming
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I play WoW and I have to say, this is the best gaming mouse I have ever encountered. The 12 buttons make it so you can do anything with just your thumb. Its easy, comfortable, and fast. I've been using this mouse for over a year now, and it is still going strong. The learning curve isn't high either. It was super easy to adjust and it became even easier to game. I would recommend this 10/10. If you are a serious gamer, you should consider this mouse to be yours.

Best mouse ever, but NOT a "wireless" connection
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This mouse say's it's wireless but you need to have the 7 foot chord plugged in to your computer. This chord can be attached into either the mouse or a charging dock / receiver. So yes, the mouse itself can be wireless but the connection to your computer is NOT. This might be what you want for a desktop or desk workstation. I wanted a wireless mouse for portability with my laptop and I didn't realize this was the case until too late. All that being said, I'm keeping the mouse. It is still the best mouse I've ever owned and I'm super happy with it. I was temped to return it and buy the wired in version for $50 less, but I like the chroma feature, and this mouse is slightly slimmer than the other which I also like.

Very Good Mouse
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this to upgrade from the generic mouses I've been using for gaming. This had definitely been a a great choice - especially for MMOs and being able to use the 12 side buttons. It has a little learning curve to get a feel for it, but that is a given.

Phenomenal gaming equipment
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had the OG Razer Naga before I bought the Epic Chroma, and I haven't moved away from Razer since. It delivers everything promised, and then some. This mouse serves every type of gamer, or non gamer, with its changeable wired or wireless function, the near-0 latency in either type you use it in, and the whopping 19 programmable buttons. 10/10, would recommend. Worth every penny.

Great for MMO's
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this mouse for World of warcraft specifically. I found that on my regular mouse I did not have quite enough keys for all of my keybindings. I quickly ran up the button 3, 4 and 5 along with shift 3, 4 and 5. This gave me an opportunity to add more key bindings and have a better opportunity to hit those buttons that sit on the 9 key and further back. After a few hours of playing my habits have adjusted and it's strange to go back without the same mouse.

Amazing!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got my Razer Naga a while ago and it is Absolutely perfect It is always sensitive and the mouse buttons click (unlike my last mouse). I have had a few razer product and the only suggestion I have for Razer is to shorten the cords a little bit. I understand maybe headphones if you want to use them for a console but even the Nagas cord is 3 times longer than it needs to be.

Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have the Rzr Naga paired with my Black Widow keyboard and they are an ethereal combination . As a gamer and as a digital artist who makes game character this set up has proved useful to me on both fronts with macro hotkeys extremely satisfying functionality and feel and frankly.....they just look awesome and it makes you sound like a king if you can type as fast as I can XDDD 9000/10 .If you play league of legends these will make you cry tears of joy .

Great upgrade
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I recently purchased the Razer Naga Epic Chroma as a replacement for my Razer Copperhead (bought in 2005 timeframe). The only reason I got a new mouse was due to the right mouse button starting to stick. I don't think that is bad for using it for about 9 years. With that track record for a mouse, I definitely wanted to continue using a Razer product, and will most likely use more in the future. The Epic Chroma was a logical upgrade from the Copperhead since I play MMOs and figured it would be easier to access key abilities using the thumb grid. Which has been a great feature for me, though it is taking some getting used to the layout of the keypad. The individual angles of the buttons are a great help in figuring out which button is being pressed without looking. I also like the versatility of being able to use the mouse wireless or corded, since there are time that a cord can get in the way. I am still getting used to using the mouse, but it has been easy to set up and the application software needs no real explanation on how to use it.

Best Mouse Ever Owned
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this mouse when I decided to build my current gaming desktop. This mouse appealed to me for several reasons: 1. You can customize the colors of both the mouse wheel and the buttons on the side (you can either make them both the same color or two separate colors). 2. The mouse can be either wired or wireless. It comes with a docking bay to charge it if you choose to make it wireless. The docking bay connects to your computer's USB for power, so no batteries are needed. 3. It has a good, solid feel to it. You can tell the mouse is of good quality. I have had this mouse for about a year now and have had absolutely no issues with it. I use it quite a bit on a daily basis and have traveled with it quite a few times. It performs spectacularly. The precision of the mouse is amazing and the software if comes with is very user friendly. If you're a gamer, especially if you play MMOs, this mouse will be your best friend.

Excellent mouse for price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My only negative view on this mouse is the necessity ofhaving the dock plugged into your computer in order for it to be wireless. Some of the cheapest wireless mouses today have a little thumb drive size usb plug in that allows them to run wirelessly. I realize, however, that this mouse is a little more advanced for that and perhaps that justifys the port needing to be plugged in via hardwire to your pc in order for the mouse to run wirelessly. Other than that, I love it! really cool to be able to osscilate the colors and everything in the led's. Good product.

Comfortable handling with no extra batteries
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've always had a problem with my pinky finger rubbing across the mouse pad while playing and after a while it rubs your finger raw, but with this mouse it has a finger rest just to stop that... And if that wasn't enough the battery for this is rechargeable, so no freaking out about having to buy more batteries... Overall I am super impressed and happy with my purchase...

I'm in love
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was looking to start using a gaming mouse for when I started playing Overwatch (because I had just been using my PS4 controller up until that point). A friend of mine suggested getting a Naga, and while I was in the store the Naga Chroma caught my eye (I'm a sucker for light shows) and that's what I ended up buying after payday. I don't regret buying it one bit! I have pretty small hands, but the mouse is still really comfortable, and nothing feels out of reach. The 12 buttons are a MASSIVE help and let me focus more on WASD movement. And again, the lights on the mouse were what sold me...but I didn't expect it to be Overwatch responsive...as in, the lights change depending on who you're playing!!! I loved this so much I went and got the matching pad the next day and I'm just awestruck. 20/10 thenks razor 4 my life

Excellent gaming mouse!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my first Razer mouse and both the craftsmanship and the quality are top notch. The only downside is that I bought this particular model because it was wireless and I mean to use it with a gaming laptop. However, the receiver for the wireless function is the charger itself which is gynormous; instead I just plug in the cable to the mouse directly since it's pretty much the same. Other than that it's a mighty fine product, the key mapping program is excellent and the color cycles are gorgeous.
