I got one a couple of years ago for another computer, and when my old Dell keyboard crashed on the office computer, I got this one. Being able to choose several different lighting effects is cool.

The backlighting is only ok - there's more light behind the keys but not much light through the keys. I really don't care about the aesthetic lighting I'd more through-light and less background light, particularly on the number keys.

Great keyboard not as "clicky" as full mechanical

Be sure you get the Razer software and driver to be able to fully configure the keyboard. This is the membrane key model which is a little less "clicky" than the fully mechanical version, which is his preference. Works great! Colorful and fast response times for gamers.
