Mouse is responsive. I don’t know if I got a defective cord on mine but it is double maybe triple the size of my other cords for all of my razer products. This thing feels like it’s going to start shredding apart with moderate usage…not good for a wired mouse. It feels like a hoodie drawstring. It bugs me to no end that it doesn’t match ANY of the other razer product cords I have and those are all identical aside from color.

I've been a Logitech fanboy for mice and Corsair for keyboards. However, after using and owning the Razer Huntsman Elite Keyboard, the optical switches are no joke. When the Razer Viper came and it had optical switches, I had to try it out. Coming from a Logitech G703 with Powerplay Mousepad: Pros: -Responsiveness: I don't know what it is, but the responsiveness of each click felt significantly faster and you could definitely notice this when shooting a pistol. I thought it was a gimmick and kept switching between the G703 and Viper, but no, the Viper definitely felt like it was registering faster. Saw a test on YouTube about the MS and they showed the Viper being faster I think it was 189 vs 228/238 something like that. -Cord: I was worried about switching from a wireless mouse to a wired mouse, but after use, it felt the same as a wireless mouse. The cable is no joke; they definitely did a good job at making the cable feel nonexistent. -Speed/Control: This mouse is very good for claw grip. Not so good for palm grip if you have big hands due to the fact that it's lower than average mice in height. However, it's like cars; the lower it is the better speed and control you have. It definitely has that. CONS: -Ergonomics: I actually prefer the hump on the back of the Logitech G703 over this mouse for ergonomics. Needless to say, I'm also not a fan of ambidextrous mice. -No onboard memory (which probably helped kept it low weight). Need Synapse. The reason why I hate this mouse is because I'm having a hard time accepting the fact that Razer actually made a mouse better than Logitech for gaming. Logitech will probably make a Optical switch eventually but currently, they do not. I still prefer using Logitech mice for everything else, but for gaming, there is no question: Razer Viper is the best gaming mouse today especially for FPS games hands down no hesitation.

I'm left-handed, and most of the mice available are right-handed. The mouse that came with my desktop was one of those mice. I could use it, but it wasn't as comfortable. I decided to purchase this Razer mouse because there are buttons on both sides of the mouse, and they can all be programmed. After I purchased this mouse, I decided to return the HyperX keyboard I had purchased at the same time, and I purchased a Razer Cynosa keyboard. The colors change on both the keyboard and the mouse. This gives it a more seamless feel. And you can customize the colors and patterns. I haven't done much with that, it seemed a bit daunting. There's a DPI switch on the bottom so you can adjust the precision of the movement.

The Razer Viper is sleek, lightweight, and has a comfortable ambidextrous design that I'm a huge fan of. Although slender, it's a very long mouse which feels great to handle for anyone like me with super long fingers, no more hand cramps from a tiny mouse! The button on the bottom that changes DPI settings is a nifty little feature and the programmable side buttons are a Razer staple! With how light it is it takes some time getting used to, but once you get a feel for it it makes it so much easier to maneuver and help with spray patterns or the like. Definitely worth the price tag.

I was upgrading from an amazon basic mouse and just the feel alone was worth the money. To be fair i did get it at half off at my local store, but I wouldn't fault anyone for buying it at full price. It is very responsive and very light, but not too light where it has bad balance. I'm not a big fan of the lighting software and found it cumbersome. Other than that it feels premium and fits my hand (about 6.5 in long) very well.

I've been looking forward to acquiring a Razer Viper for months ever since seeing it for the first time and holding the mouse with my own hand. Unlike the current crop of Razer gaming mice, the Viper bucks the trend of ever larger sized mice to accommodate users with over sized ham fisted paws for hands. Not since the halcyon days of Razer's Diamondback and Copperhead has a Razer mouse been comfortable for me to hold using the claw style grip. Almost all modern Razer mice have a tall bulbous hump on the top side of the mouse starting from the middle and working its way to the back end of the mouse. Not so with the Viper. The Viper's dimensions and shape are lower profile and left/right side symmetric like the Diamondback and Copperhead designs from a decade ago. Combined with the Viper's light in class 69g curb weight (not including weight of cord) this mouse is not only comfortable to grip but also not tiring to push around as it requires very little physical movement to make the mouse pointer move quickly in RTS type games. As it stands the Viper has full Razer Synapse driver support, a 5G sensor with maximum 16k DPI sensitivity, on the fly sensitivity control button on the bottom with LED indicator, built in settings profile memory and new in class optical switches for button 1 and 2. Button 1 and 2 appear to respond very quickly to input clicks with no observable ghosting or repeated inputs despite only a single physical click. The only downside to the Viper is it's one of the most expensive corded Razer gaming mouse sold by Best Buy. However if you don't have large ham fisted paws for hands and prefer Razer gaming mice, BB and Razer kind of have you over the proverbial barrel. I bit the bullet and got a Viper and haven't looked back. Be aware if your computer does not already have Razer Synapse software installed, this package can take awhile to install once downloaded.

This mouse is overall a very competitive pick. It is appealing to the eye (nice finish and RGB goodness), is very light, and feels good in the hand (I have larger hands and prefer claw grip and it is still fine). The scroll wheel stages feel responsive and the cable is actually so light that it's impressive really (can feel very little drag even without a mouse bungee). My only complaints thus far are that the "clicks" feel like they take a bit more force to initiate than I'd like and that the lift off distance of the sensor is rather sensitive. If you swipe the mouse a lot (FPS games in general) it seems to become unresponsive for a bit until you dial-in the lift off distance calibration in Razer Synapse (Razer's application for adjusting the mouse settings). Overall very satisfied and glad to see this as a worthy successor to my Razer Naga 2014 Left-Handed Edition. Good job!

I had been using the Razer Ouroboros for many years and although it works perfect, I needed a new mouse that a bit lighter and responded better. On top of all that, I really wanted to get back to a wired mouse and not have to keep recharging. It was a great match, its been almost a month now and I couldnt be happier. Synapse 3 works very easy when it comes to set up and configurations. It does navigate and work a lot faster than 2. The Chroma adds a bit of color, but doesnt overpower the mouse itself. Just to let anyone know, you do not, I repeat, do not need the software. There are 5 preset speeds that are loaded already. Choice is yours, but its refreshing to see a company do that for us gamers. I prefer software. Anyways, excellent mouse. Speed, light, very very responsive. I would say one thing (not even negative), if you have bigger hands, DO NOT GET THIS. Medium to small hands, will work well. Large hands will claw this and it will get uncomfy.

I’ve been using the Razer Viper with the optical switches for quite a while. I wanted to simply share my impressions of this super fast mouse. It has Razer’s new optical/mechanical a Switch. For 70 million clicks. The Razer’s 5G optical sensor with 99.4% Accuracy is fast and precise. It’s ambidextrous and light (69 grams). You also will love Razer’s a speed flex cable. If you didn’t know better it feels like a wireless mouse. There are 8 programmable buttons. The DPI button is located underneath. At first I didn’t know if I would like that, but it avoids accidental DPI switches during intense gameplay. The Viper can store 3 profiles onboard memory. Comfort wise, the Viper is a lower profile than the Mamba, but it all depends on your hands. I have medium large hands so I liked how the mouse feels, but this will be more subjective based upon what you are use to and if you feel the mouse is comfortable for long gaming sessions. I’ve played 4-6 hours straight using the Viper with Modern Warfare, Black Ops 4, and Overwatch. The mouse is pretty phenomenal. I would definitely go somewhere to try it out and to confirm if the mouse feels right for you.

This is a great mouse. It's lightweight and easily glides over a mousepad. The clicks feel great. The DPI was at the perfect setting for me out of the box, but you can also adjust it very easily. The RGB logo looks great. The side buttons are also positioned in a great spot. The only bad thing is that the plastic may feel a little cheap, but this didn't bother me at all. I got it on sale for $39.99 on one of their early Black Friday sales. I can definitely say this mouse is worth it for $40, and it's probably worth it for the regular list price of $80 too.

    Improved ARPG overall gameplay

Didn't think a gaming mouse would make a vast improvement in ARPG gameplay. It's lightness and responsiveness makes gameplay more consistent, smooth and efficient. The RGB is a nice touch visually when not being used. The Razer Viper also makes a pretty good mouse for traveling due to the weight and size. My biggest concern with mice in general is the durability of the left click button and so far the Viper has met my expectations for an excellent ARPG mouse.

Easy to use and for a great price. I bought this as a “why not” purchase since one of my old mice had a dirty sensor and I didn’t feel like cleaning it myself and it hasn’t disappointed so far. It’s very light and has a lower profile than the Logitech G703 for instance, the wire is good quality, and despite the weight and plastic construction feels sturdy and like it could stand up to most any beating you could give it. Great gift idea for the price!

Razer's best yet wired mouse and super light

There are a ton of ultra-light mouse out there which are only focused for competitive fps shooters. The same goes for razer, it ultra-light and ambidextrous, however the hyper-shift functionality the mouse has makes it even better. I used to use a gaming mouse with several buttons on it but it was just to heavy to be competitive in any sort of fps. The Hyper shift functionality allow me to double the functionality of every single button. For example the two side buttons basically turn into 4 buttons with the use of hypershift. So with hypershift I get a total of 8 more buttons (this includes scroll up and scroll down). Which is awesome when it comes to shooters like Battlefield 5, Squad and Insurgency sandstorm where you need to have more than just the side buttons to really get an edge in the game. Build quality wise, its very well built, no rattling of any kind, the cord is very flexible and soft. Its as if it's not there. The only downside which goes away after a few hours of use are the mouse pads, they kind of have to be "broken" in. They were rough at first but after a few rounds of gaming it became smooth. However I use a set of aftermarket mouse feet so I removed them and use the ones I installed and the mouse is basically perfect in my book. The mouse is best for claw and palm/claw grip, unless you have extremely small hands a palm grip is not ideal for this mouse. One thing I want to point out many of the popular light weight mice are about 10 to 15 bucks cheaper than this one, however for me the hypershift functionality more than makes up for the slight increase in price. If you want a top grade gaming mouse that also offers great functionality choose this. There is a wireless one coming out, however it is nearly double the price of the wired, the only advantage you are getting is slightly better mouse pads and wireless capability. If you can live with the wire, this one is a great deal.

I’ve been enjoying this mouse—it’s incredibly light (maybe even a little too light?), has very fast and accurate tracking, and the mouse buttons have a satisfying and precise click. Plus you can use it right- or left-handed (I like to switch it up). The Razer software is much improved since older versions and makes it easy to customize the mouse and lighting effects. My only complaints are that the side panels have a slightly slippery feel, and the RGB lighting is limited to just the Razer logo—for a mouse this price, it might have been nice to have a little more lighting. But overall, I’m very happy with this mouse.

At only 69 grams its as light as a feather, doesn't even feel like i have a mouse sometimes as I can throw it around so easily with just two fingers. Also the optical switch does feel faster (don't know how but it does). The only thing I don't really like are the buttons on the side because I can't comfortably use them, your milage may vary though.
