This is Trash! I feel like I wasted $100 that could have went towards a better purchase. The buzzing sound is horrible. Buyers beware! Do not buy this one!

Cable is not a TRS cable, so will not work with some applications. Mount is made of cheap plastic. Thumb screw cracked upon tightening.

I ended up not needing the camera I bought had better audio quality then the mic. When recording audio it appears it's recording appropriately, but when you play back it is distorted and sounds horrible.

Massive hissing and signal interference. Spend your money in something better. Post production is unable to remove the bad quality audio coming from this mic.

I will need to make a trip to Best Buy to see if there is an adaptor that will connect the camera and microphone. I am sure my review will change once we see if we can purchase an adaptor.

No matter what I tried the mic did not work. Lots of clicking and really bad quality. Not expected from rode.

I described what I needed to add a mic to new Canon Camcorder and this doesn't work at all for my needs with this camera

I could not find any use or I could not hear the differece shen using this microphone and the internal microphone.

I couldn't even unscrew the shoe plate.... Sound quality was horrible too. Really bummed

This Camera addon uses a headphone jack for audio The canon t6 does not have one

Terrible Mic - Has background whistle that cannot be removed.

This mic is certainly an improvement over the internal mic and for the price is definitely worth it. It's mount makes it unobtrusive so you get improved sound with no downside. The only thing to be aware of is that if you're shooting in manual modes the mic is sensitive enough to pic up the sound of camera operations like spinning the selection wheel on a canon (you'll catch the clicking noise). So that isn't at all a criticism of the mic, but just an fyi for you as a user to either shoot in auto or not adjust things other than focus if sound capture is essential.

Great mic, straight forward and easy use for basic audio capture.

The quality of the sound is decent for a Rode product, but I feel like the build quality is lacking in many respects. It feels like a home made science project rather than a well manufactured product. Even the VideoMic Go is built of solid aluminum and has decent sound quality. This looked more like an advertisement for Rode given the huge lettering on the wind cover, so I ended up returning it. But if you just want a relatively inexpensive shotgun mic for your dslr-style camera, you won't really go wrong here.

I bought this microphone to use with my Canon 5D mk III to shoot video for a wedding from about 25 ft away from the couple. It worked very well and was able to pick up the bride & groom sharing their vows.

Great mic overall, no down sides. Really cheap & convenient for what its worth.

Great for hearing the sounds better when in editing mode

I ordered this microphone, along with a LAV mic, late Sunday night. I received both items by noon on Tuesday. I'm very impressed with Best Buy's prompt shipping and can't wait to try out these products!
