Good sound quality for the size. Battery life is pretty good as well. Haven't added the wind cover yet. Haven't decided if I actually need to. I use it for outdoors filming while fishing and wind is almost always present.

I put this on my canon camcorder and am very pleased with the results. I do recommend the dead cat option to reduce wind noise. It is much better than the camcorder or your camera mics. This is coming from an experienced videographer.

Easy set-up and near perfect sound quality. Used on my Canon 80D to interview in an office setting. Clean and crisp sound after adjusting the dB setting. Just don’t forget to turn it on!

This is a great microphone. It does pick up more sounds than I thought so everyone needs to be quiet if you are making a review.. even with the door shut. It was a great purchase. Runs off of a square 9volt battery!

Bought this mic for my wife to use with her DSLR and she LOVES it!!! It was an improvement over the built in recording mic. I contemplated getting cheaper mics but I am glad that I went with the Rode.

Not a bad mic, sound is great. Plus it takes a battery which doesnt drain your camera battery. Allowing you to record a lot longer.

The Rode name is famous for delivering quality microphones. This shotgun mic is no exception and performs perfectly when paired with my canon video camera and canon DSLR.

Rode has always been my favorite on board Mic. This new shock system helps with video production and moving type film. I recommend it. It's the best in its class for the price. Buy it!!

The sound quality is excellent and can pick up a speaker from a reasonable distance away from the mic. However, the large size can be awkward at times.

This is my first mic so I don't know what to expect in a mic But it is ten times better than the stock mic I have on my Sony a7r And I love it

This is a necessity, i record my videos and without this mic, i' d be lost. Haven't been disappointed with any of the effects or sound, quality is great.

This is a really good buy. Heightens the sound quality a lot better then the built-in mic on my camera. Could be better but it could be a lot worse!

Works as expected. Sound is clear although signal is not super hot when going into the camera so you may need to crank up your preamps a bit.

Great sound quality. Great addition to any camera or camcorder that is capable of using an external mic.

Still not the best you can have but definitely better that the on-camera ones. If you're planing to buy a mic for the first time I will recommend to start with something like this (unless you can afford an NTG-3 or better, of course). The plastic body and support feels very cheap but make it light enough for those using it on a DSLR. It needs a 9V battery, and that's a little bit annoying too. Overall not bad as a "starter kit" microphone
