Another excellent microphone from Rode. Perfect for run and gun, phone, and even normal shotgun mic use. The thread pitch for the suspension structure is a larger size than 1/4-20, like you'd expect for something to be used with DSLRs and GoPros. However, it does feature a cold shoe mount, so finding an adapter that will work with it isn't a challenge.

Great entry level microphone for one who does lots of videos.

I really like this microphone. It comes with mic comes with a deadcat wind shield that works wonders. It comes with a cold shoe to attach to the top of cameras or to some phone mounts that have cold shoe attachments. The only thing is that it has a front heavy balance to it where you are supposed to mount it. So the mount tends to tilt down a bit, but the aux cable that comes with it helps level it when attached.

This is a pretty good microphone. Clear not static

Slightly better than the built in mic. The windscreen helps. Lots of noise but that is probably as much from the camera preamp. One of the higher end Rode mics with a battery preamp is probably better. This is good for the money though.

I bought this for my Nikon D3400 but my camera doesn’t have a mic input :).I end up using it with my iPhone, but there’s not big difference because my iPhone has a good mic You’ll have a good sound quality only when you are close to your phone, but not so good at A long distance.
