Very good on-camera microphone

I purchased the Rode mic to use with my Canon EOS 6D MkII. It mounted easily on the hot shoe and performed very well with good range. It is a very good, low-cost microphone!

Great budget mic!

I wanted to get the video mic pro, but the $230 price tag wasn't in my range. I went with the smaller version that is powered through the camera. I thought the mic would drain my camera's battery but I didn't notice any performance change. The mic quality is incredible! I would say up to par with the pro.
