Much has been argued about Image Entertainment's presentation of the Stuart Gordan classic, "Re-Animator." Some have claimed that the DVD looks every bit as good. Mind you, the Blu is not a giant leap forward in video quality, but it is slightly better. Also, the sound does beat out the DVD. The problem with the Blu presentation is the persistent soft focus of the film. Many of us expect a much sharper presentation when we trade in our favorites, and unfortunately Image Entertainment's version sorely lacks that. This may be why it is now retailing for so cheap. One can only hope that Arrow acquires the rights eventually and gives this horror classic what it deserves - a good shot in the arm and re-animate it to the glory the fans deserve. Still in the meantime, it's better than nothing.

This is a great limited edition, much better than the other version sold on the website. Has loads of extra features and a cool green highlighter "syringe". Just a shipping note, the outer box was completely crushed when I received mine. It was shipped in a bubble mailer, which did little to help cushion it. I don't know if there's a way you can request them to ship it in a box -vs- a bubble mailer, but my box was ruined, which really sucked as I was giving it as a gift.

While Herbert West - Reanimator is not the best HP Lovecraft story, Reanimator is just about the best Lovecraft movie. The original short story has just two main characters, so for a feature length movie, the plot was a bit extended from the original story, of course. However, the movie does capture the essence of the book pretty well, and in a fun, scary, gruesome way. Also, the Blu-Ray is unrated version while the DVD version is edited.

ok this movie was the first H.P. Lovecraft adaptation i saw, it was amazing! I thought that Dr. West(played by Jellrey Combs) was a very intrusting person, the story was really well done & overall view is one of the best horror movies of it's era! I recommend bing this movie & seeing for yourself how good it really is!

A horror classic with an amazing performance by Jeffery Combs as an odd new student who has just came to medical school. Combs moves in with a new roommate, who hears Combs doing strange experiments in his room at night. This leads to the two trying to re-animate dead tissue.

Great movie for 70's and 80's horror movie buffs. Might even appeal to those fans of modern day horror. Provided one doesn't considered movies such as "Disturbia" a horror film. Overall, "Re-animator" is a classic horror film.

Great eighties horror flick. Effects are priceless. Was unaware but the limited video box comes with a test tube highlighter simulating the reanimating serum. The movie is campy but fun to watch.

Jeffery Combs is great in this film. Great zombie action, great gore special effects. Loads of humor as well. Enjoy this beauty of a movie!!!

I loove creepy movies around halloween and to me this one was both funny and scary.

Gotta love the 80's zombies. This movie is pretty interesteing, and at times just kind of wacky fun. I recommend it to anyone who is a fan of zombie movies.
