If you are a small business owner, the Square line of products are an incredible way to expand your business. I love how they offer small business owners easier ways to make taking payments more convenient for you and the consumer. Not only that, but they also incredibly helpful tools via your online account that will help when it comes to accounting. The contactless Square reader really helps to modernize my business. I am able to take pretty much all forms of contactless payments, including apple pay. As a mobile notary service provider, I can bring the contactless Square reader with me and allow my clients to conveniently take contactless, and even chip card payments. It really is an incredible tool to have. This was an addition to my other Square device for my home business. I really love the convenience the contactless readers adds to my business. My loyal clients were really surprised when I told them that I now accept this form of payment. If you are a small, or medium sized business, the contactless Square reader is a must. Not only will it help expand your business, but you have incredible tools at your disposal that will help run a more efficient business. I would highly recommend this contactless Square reader to anyone!

I have a very small business and this little guy has been a lifesaver as far missing the little card reader that used to plug into the headphone jack on cellphones (why most manufacturer's removed them is beyond me). Holds a charge for most of the day and as long as you have a battery pack this unit should be a part of every small business owners toolbox. I would recommend if you are on the run collecting card payments. I really can't find any flaws or cons with this device. It does exactly what it was designed to do and does it very well. Packaging was pretty good and the directions were very clear and if that isn't your cup of tea there are a ton of Youtube video's that walk you through the initial setup and use of the unit. This works with my tablet as well. Had issues getting it to work with a Fire Tablet but everything else was gravy. No issues. I'd recommend buying or making a holder for it that goes with either a dedicated cellphone or tablet that has a port open to run a cable to it for charging or have it plugged in while it sits on a counter or wherever you keep it.

The Square Reader Generation 2 has one big improvement on all previous Square readers…USB-C! With everything nowadays using USB-C ports for charging, it is wonderful to only have to carry one wire for both your phone and Square Reader Generation 2. If you are a small business owner that takes payments on the go, definitely look for the Generation 2 version of the reader. Pairing with the Square app on Android is extremely simple and allows you to accept chip cards and tap to pay methods. Both work flawlessly while at a craft festival. Not one time did the reader fail to accept a payment through a few hundred transactions. For 8 hours of selling at the festival, the battery didn’t even move an inch. This is wonderful for doing weekend shows. Given the reasonable rates Square charges for each transaction, plus the ease of using the reader to charge cards, there is no excuse to require your customers to only pay with cash anymore. Using this reader will open up your customer base to use their debit and credit cards or use Apple Pay or Google Pay.

A square reader with contactless and chip second generation is a great piece of equipment. My wife and I sometimes have a table at the local flea market. And nowadays, most people are cashless. So I was looking for an option to accept cards with no hassle and no memberships. This baby hit all the marks. IIt works with most phones and tablets. I could download and set up transactions within the Square app and make quick modifications for certain transactions that weren't listed. It works with Apple Pay and Google Pay chipped and contactless cards. There's a small fee for commerce, but if you want your money right now, there's a small fee. That wasn't a problem either for me. Square makes it easier for small businesses to accept credit and debit card payments without a high startup fee. The battery lasts most of the weekend, which helps. I have minimal arrows when capturing transactions, both NFC and chip. I recommend this one for anyone looking to accept payments at a kiosk stand or on the go.

Having a small business, getting paid is the most important, and sometimes the most difficult part of the job. The last couple years I have been a cash/check only business as I had been unhappy with a previous card/digital processing company I had tried previously. Long story short, they took too much money per transaction and if I had not used their services in a while, it would take over a month to have the funds available to me. This is unacceptable. Having seen other small retail businesses around me using Square and hearing positive feedback from them when asked, I jumped at the opportunity to try out Square for my own business. First impression is that Square has made this product and process very simple. This square reader charges using a USB-C cable, which is nice not having a proprietary charger. Once charged, you download the Square App which walks you through the setup process, which is again, very simple. Something I did not expect is that Square also allows you to prepare proposals, invoices, and even though I haven't tried it...payroll services. Square is so much more than a card scanner and that is amazing! I made a few test transactions using both chip and tap to pay and both worked flawlessly. A card can also be entered manually, which could be helpful as well. The only problem I had was keeping the square reader connected to my phone, which I use as a hotspot. Each time I have needed it, I would make sure that the Square reader was connected via Bluetooth to my phone and when I opened the Square app, it would say device disconnected despite my phone showing a connection. The Square reader would act as if it was not charged, despite being at 100%. I do have a modern flagship phone that is more than capable of handling this process, so hardware is not the issue. I have been able to rectify this issue regularly by turning the Square reader off and on again and plugging it in to a charger, but this hokey pokey is definitely an inconvenience. Overall, I like this square product and when it works, it works. I just need to find a more reliable means to rectify these connection issues.

Simply put, if you are not accepting credit cards with your business (of any size), you are loosing out on potential sales. Even if you are doing fundraising, or a garage sale... having this can help you sell more. Square it self is an easy to use platform, that takes very little time to setup and use... I have had square now for well over 6 years if not longer. I use it for my craft side business, fundraising for our scouts, and even our home garage sales. With this contactless reader, you can accept all the modern Chip and Tap payments including Apple Pay. This device is an updated model over the previous, charging via USB-C in under 20 minutes it is fully charge, and the charge is going to last you several days under normal usage. I have yet to ever kill the battery at a full weekend craft show. Tap payments, Tap: Beep, and go... the customer never has to let go of their card, and you can bring the reader to them. Chip payments.. just slide it in, and it instantly starts to talk to your phone, and you are on your way.. so is your customer. Tap and Chip payments are the most secure way to do a transaction, and you pay less in transaction rates. Setup for the reader, takes under a minute. Open your app, tap a button in the app to start the process, hit the power button. The first time you do, it is going to do a secure software update, and then you are ready to go. While Square has recently added Tap payments built into the app, if you have a compatible phone... you still can't take chip. This device will NOT accept a magnetic swipe.. but for the rare occasion you need that, you can keep the number into the app. Square is FREE to setup, and just a modest cost for this reader. And you pay per transaction... so monthly fees.

I already owned the Square magstripe reader but this is an upgrade with the ability to accept contactless payment and chip payment. The device has a clean, intuitive design. The instructions were clear and easy to understand, so even the tech-challenged among us can figure this reader out. It’s simple and fast. It feels more current with the times to be able to accept payment in a variety of ways and it protects my customers security better. Also, this device is so portable. It’s less than 3 inches square and less than half an inch thick. It would easily fit in a pocket. I have a small business and sometimes I move around between different offices so this device is great to carry when I’m wanting to travel light. I think there are advantages to the square terminal, with its screen but this lightweight device will get the job done. The thing I love about Square is you can email the receipt, taking away the necessity to print receipts also. For a small business like mine, Square has a lot of options- this one is good enough for running credit cards if you have a device like a phone or tablet to run the app. I’m pleased with this compact little credit card scanner.

The Square Reader contactless/wireless reader fits into the palm of your hand. This reader also reads chip cards, there is however no magnetic stripe reader. As I do not have a storefront my business is mobile. The reader is connected to my iPad wirelessly. From the application I enter the sales data, the purchaser then either puts the card in the chip reader area or taps the card, signs the screen enters their email and a receipt is sent, and the sale is completed. The application keeps track of all your sales data. The application can store your inventory thus allowing you to track your item sales, or you can just enter the total of the sale and process from there. The reader measures 2 5/8 by 2 5/8 inches. The reader has a contactless reader in the middle of the top and 4 indicator lights along the top edge of the reader. The chip reader is along the front edge of the reader. On the back edge is the power button and the Type C charging port. The reader comes equipped with a USB -C charging cable. The card reader connects via Bluetooth to the application. This reader is the 2nd generation, and the battery allows for 20 percent more sales before recharging.

Square's digital payment systems make things really easy for small business owners to take payments from anywhere. The first version of the Square Reader made contactless payments a standard that you could keep in your pocket, untethered to a power source. If you've already got the 1st Gen, you may not need the 2nd Generation... but there are a few key differences: better battery, faster Bluetooth, and some extra security enhancements. The 2nd gen also uses USB-C for charging now, which is arguably more convenient than microUSB. However, it may not work with the older stands and such if you already have them. The Square website has a full list of the compatibilities. Square's list of accessories is growing and it's a pretty solid base to build on, whether you are shipping product or charging for services on site, or running an entire storefront of goods with UPCs, but it all starts with taking payments. This is a must for small business owners on the go, and easily worth the price of admission to simplify how you take payments.

As long as you can stomach Square Reader's credit card fee, this is a solution for mobile payments. I like the ability to be able to accept Apple Pay, Samsung Pay, Garmin Pay, and Google Wallet as well as "tap" payments (which are just contactless payments built-in to your credit card) The battery is much improved from the first generation and lasts a whole day or two shifts. You don't really need to charge it for it to work. You can just use it plugged in and never use the battery if you want. I use it with a power bank and it works flawlessly for me. It is very convenient to have the option to be away from power and still have the ability to accept credit cards as long as you have your phone, wifi, or hotspot with you as this definitely requires the Internet to process transactions. Also, you will need to pair this with your phone via Bluetooth in order to use it. The pairing process is very easy because it pairs just like any other Bluetooth device. Its very lightweight and easy to pack for a flea market or convention.

Overall this has made business more efficient. It took a matter of seconds, that's right seconds, to set up on my I pad. After it was set up on the I pad, I was able to begin reading cards right away. This has made things way easier than trying to hold the little unit that you get and trying to swipe a card. Overall everyone has loved this unit and it has made things move much more efficiently. Oh yeah and this makes paying with any contactless payment a cinch. When you get the item out of the box, charge it up, and it will be ready to go. Once it's charged, even while it's charging you can set it up to work with whatever device you are using to accept credit card payments. Once it is set up, you will be ready to begin to accept payments immediately. Again this Square Reader for Contactless and Chip reader has made business that much more efficient especially when you have clients waiting in line. There's no more fussing with a cord or anything else. Just have them hover their card over the reader and away you go.

This square reader is your all in one stop for any business that doesn’t need a till but needs to be able to take any type of card. It lets people tap with their phones or cards that have the chip. The same card can be inserted instead to read the chip or you have manual entry for cards that are still only the magnetic strip.Highly recommended for any business that wants an affordable way to take cards. The interface takes a little getting use to in the app but it allows you to do tons of stuff.

We do farmer's markets, and this thing works great. Super easy to pair & set up. Works way better than the little square reader that you plug into your phone. This allows people to tap or use their chip card easily.

Long battery life, worked perfect. Was able to level up my small business at outdoor vendor shows. Nice to not have to handle customer credit cards anymore.
