Fantastic movie. All the action was great and all of the movie and gaming characters were funny and seriously cool

If you love 80s you will love this movie, book was better but it's still entertaining. 5k ultra is awesome too.

This is a must-own if you are a nostalgia fanatic, it is visually entertaining, and story-pleasing, you'll love it!

I don’t want to spoil the movies but it gives the kids an idea to be out more outside than 24/7 playing video games

As a teen from the 80's and a gamer, this movie is full of reminders of that time. Overall story is pretty good too.

Beautiful CGI, a great story, and a lot of fun. It's a bit different from the book, but still enjoyable in its own right. If you're a fan of pop culture, especially the 80s, this is a movie you should check out.

4K media can show amazing detail as well as flaws. RPO is fantastic for both audio and video and worth the purchase

Having read the book and listened to the very good audiobook narrated by Will Wheaton, and really liked them. I was eager to watch it all come into "existence" on the big screen. I am not going to go into any kind of spoiler territory so I'll simply say that this movie is not as good as the book (my opinion, of course), but it does capture the nostalgia-driven nerdom and even brings some contemporary "easter eggs" and references that will appease the geek culture for sure. As far as presentation, the best way to watch it and enjoy it is in 4K-HDR as this feature was filmed specifically for this format. There is plenty of incredible visuals (mostly CGI) and wow moments that are pure eye candy. As far as the sound is concerned, it was also very well executed. Dolby ATMOS delivers amazing audio -from pristine dialogue, to booming explosions to a musical score that never overpowered everything. I do wish the over-head sounds would have been a bit more enhanced and prevalent, however. In the end, I throughly enjoyed it, although it leaves room for a vivid discussion on which is better, book or movie.

Purchased this movie during Black Friday sale and was not disappointed. I highly recommend purchasing this movie.

Very nostalgic if you grew up in the 80s. But ties it into today's technology. The movie was very satisfying.

A great movie! It is visually stunning and has so many references to past video games and pop culture in general.

Need to be open minded that this is very different story from the book. You can even say that it is totaly different. Full of action and adventure. CGI was awesome. Love the scene where they mimic The Shining.

Decent movie. Found on sale locally and I wanted to watch the movie since I read the book. I think I would have liked the movie more had i not read the book. Regardless, it is entertaining and well done.

What an amazingly fun ride! Having a hard time not giving this five stars, so I'll point out the two things stopping me. First, the biggest, which is just some very minor pacing issues. VERY occasionally, the film feels like they would have benefitted from either linking the action for longer sequences and moving the exposition to one side or the other of the action sequences, OR making those scenes of exposition a bit LONGER between scenes of action. Secondly, I LOVE this movie personally- it almost feels made specifically for my age group of geeks (46yo). There's some WONDERFUL callbacks to the very things that began geek and pop culture. In the grand scheme, it's certainly not important that not every Easter Egg is immediately identified by those much younger that may only have a passing knowledge (if at all,) of The Greatest American Hero (among others,) as it doesn't play any major role within the film- heck, upon reading breakdowns of all the Eggs within the film, maybe people will hunt these treasures down, but while it certainly benefits myself and others of my age group, some may miss out on a few "aha!" And LOL moments. I DEFINITELY would love to see more movies being soooo inclusive of pop culture history, and it's not a negative to ME, but to others, especially with a more limited personal history with geekdom, have an article that breaks all the Eggs down at hand, visit it after a viewing, and then rewatch Ready Player One! And that's a good portion of Ready Player One's charm... it's ability to be watched over and over again. Even if you were to know every single Egg and cameo, they come at such a frantic pace, you're bound to miss some! There's so much to take in, both between the Eggs and the action, RP1 is one of the more "replayable" films released in recent years. This easily could have been a 5 star rating, but I want to play it safe for anyone taking the time reading this. A real excellent addition to anyone fond of geek and pop culture's library!

This film is what every kid asked for. Funny, entertaining and best part all of the movies are jointed into one.
