Movie was good enough, the real fun is looking for all the Easter eggs and famous characters from other franchises.

I liked it, you might too. It’s a great reminder of how real world problems will follow you into the matrix.

Higher audio bit rate worth buying to demo

Bought it just to demo the higher audio bit rate for the beginning race scene. The higher bit rate sounds so much better and cleaner than streaming. Running 5.2.2 Klipsch (2) R820F (1)RP504-C (4)R51m (2) 12 "JBL GT subs.. This surround sound track earned the right to display ATMOS. Not like 90% of other movies where ATMOS just sounds like an upmixer. The motor cycle panning left to right, the coins, the trains, and king kong flexing every speaker and making my house shake was well worth the money.

Liked the book much better, but the movie was decent and 4k was better. Tons of 80s and 90s references

A friend of mine was badgering me to read the book for a couple of months before the movie came out. Loved it. So I was really looking forward to seeing it. Not disappointed. It is a fun and clever adventure living inside a game world. For fans of the book, it does not stick to the book in a lot of ways. Some I understand as it would be near impossible to include in a movie. Some parts would take too long and/or need too much explanation. Some would just be less interesting to watch. Still, I love the storyline and love the movie. Kind of like the original Jurassic Park, acknowledge the differences but appreciate both the book and movie each on their own merits.

While this movie is exciting in its own right, it would only give it a Grade of 'C' as a worthy Adaptation of the source material. If you enjoy reading and find yourself liking this movie, do yourself a favor and pick up a copy of the book. It is a fun, very fast read and takes you much deeper into the puzzles and the chase for the coveted Keys.

This movie contains more treasures than what Ariel from the 'Little Mermaid' has in her secret underwater cove and she's a hoarder! One of the best things about 'Ready Player One' is all the Easter eggs that trigger all the nostalgic feelings and getting to try and hunt them all like a messed up game of 'Duck Hunt' without the annoying dog constantly hanging out in the background. Some of these gems are easy to find will others remain more hidden and have you whacking the person next to you in excitement. The visuals are lovely to look at once the motion sickness from first experiencing the Oasis passes. However, the story sometimes leaves a little to be desired. The characters at times can feel a bit two dimensional as well. Still, the strengths of this movie hold it up for me, though I doubt my nephews will feel the same way about this film since it relies heavily on the nostalgia factor. A great, solid action flick with a nice amount of reply value. There always seems to be something else to find!

I liked it for what that's worth. Good CGI effects and I liked that it had unknown actors to make it seem more realistic. I watched this on my Panasonic plasma and thought it looked really good in 2D. Then took it over to my friend's house to watch in 3D. Scenes with objects that appeared to float a foot out in front of the screen were incredible. I highly recommend purchasing the 3D Bluray of any movie shown in 3D at the theater.
