Good graphics, not hooked on the plot, not the best movie I’ve seen but not the worst.

It's tuff to find a move that challenges my home theater and also provides entertainment the whole family can enjoy. I really think "Ready Player One" on 4K Blu-ray fits that bill. The picture is filled with a huge color spectrum and pushes the limits of my 4K TV. The ATMOS track is equally impressive - my in ceiling and rear surround channels were working overtime. Best of all, I know I'll revisit this movie on occasion so it was definitely worth owning. I couldn't imagine losing all of the audio/video attributes by streaming this title - really need the physical format in your library!

It's good enough to kill a couple of hours. Extremely watered down version of the book.

One of my more favorite modern movies made today that is mostly CGI, I am also a huge marvel fan. But as far as ready player one goes it is an action packed ride In a post apocalyptic almost future where everybody is online and nobody goes outside to play anymore. The bad guy is a corporation and the good guy lives in a trailer and then a van. This movie is in Dolby Vision which is rare to find and does look pretty cool but makes the screen a bit darker so HDR is probably still better

The clarity made a pretty good movie (which has a lot of special effects) even better

This is a must see film if you like sci-fi, video games, 80s, or just want to see a really cool film with a nice concept. Yes, this is a completely different story from the book...and I, for one, am pleased about that. Turning an 8 hour story into a 2.5 hour one will require some editing and usually bad editing at that, but instead of chopping the book up, the author, Ernest Cline, co-wrote the screenplay and started from scratch; rewriting the entire story to be more visual than cerebral and making it more for general audiences instead of just nerds and 80s buffs. Consider this movie to be a parallel universe of the book where the same people make different decisions and this is the new outcome. I love the book and now this movie is my favorite. Worth owning just for the pop culture Easter eggs alone, but with a great story and wonderful acting, it's just a good investment as a form of entertainment in general.

The steelbook looks great and provides a great look on the shelf for an alright movie.

If you read the book that this movie is based on, you might be slightly annoyed. First off, let me say that the author of the novel, Ted Cline, also helped write the screenplay. I loved the book but even as I read it it occurred to me that it would probably be best done as a longer mini-series. Say 5 to 10 episodes. I also figured it would be unfilmable due to the cost of securing the rights to all the pop-culture icons mentioned in the book. The movie gets around that by using different references and changing events from the novel. It's still a very entertaining movie. The cast is very good and very likable in terms of the leads. The effects are top-notch as you'd expect from a Spielberg movie. The story IS mostly faithful in spirit to the book but isn't the faithful adaptation I think fans were looking for. The extras were very good with all sorts of info. about all aspects of production and lots of views from Ted Cline.

I liked that it was a great price and arrived quickly, I disliked that a rep told me it was full screen but ended up being theater view.

If you are a fan of SiFi movies this is a must watch CGI is of the charts

Loved this movie the first time I ever saw it, if you love pop culture, must watch!

For any pop/nerd culture people out there, this movie hits SO many wickets, it hurts. The showing of tons of pop culture characters, big fights among them, references to more pop culture, and the list goes on. For book purests, this movie will be a bit of a let-down (I also read the book and love it a little more but the references in the book were more 70s/80s vice 80s/now in the movie). With that being said, still a VERY enjoyable film. Buy it, geek out a little (or even a lot), and enjoy.

Looks fantastic in 4K! Very fun sci-fi flick! Great for kids and adults!
