This sci-fi adventure movie by Steven Spielberg is an incredible nerdtastic blend of futuristic possibilities involving virtual reality, action packed game scenes, battle of virtual vs. reality love interests, fighting the bad big-guy corporation trying to ruin it all, and learning life's purpose while hunting down easter eggs to become the owner of this new world- it has it all.

Last year when I was shopping to replace my home theater equipment (Insurance fire claim) every store I visited pulled out this movie to demonstrate their systems. That's when I realized I had to have this one in my library too. The initial race scene will remind you why you spent all that money on your home theater!

What a fun movie. It's packed with 80s pop culture references and doesn't shy away from it or try to pretend it isn't going for nostalgia (it actually factors into the plot to an extent). The nostalgia does give way to a modern marvel of dystopian future that has appeal to young and old by not trying to be the Hunger Games with slightly different characters. The story is well written, the action is fast paced and exciting and Ben Mendelsohn as the intelligent bad guy is always a win in my book. Definitely happy I purchased this title on a whim. Well worth the price of admission.

Ready Player One was a super fun movie with plenty of video game & movie references. Movie will hold your interest. As with most movies the plot is pretty straight forward but all the easter eggs will make you watch this movie over and over. The movie has a lot of 80s themes and references since the creators of the VR world grew up in that era and were fond of the culture back then.

This movie was completely worth the purchase. I really enjoy movies that explore multiple different genres and themes and this movie explores quite a bit of themes and genres. If you are into nerdy ish references and or older ish pop culture I would definitely recommend a watch.

I wasn't quite sure what to expect when I ordered this movie, but I'm both a Sci-fi fan AND a Spielberg fan, so I figured I'd probably like it. Turns out, I loved it! Visuals are fantastic and the action is well paced, not to mention a great storyline. I watched it in 4K with Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos. Technically, it's a well-executed film and is sure to please any sci-fi fan.

Ready Player One is the best movie I've seen this year. The opening dialogue and brief history of the culture and society is well done and descriptive enough to follow the story and keep you involved with the interaction on the screen. Special Effects are superb and not over done. The 1980's references are great and humorous. The story moved well a kept us interested till the end.

Get lost in Oasis, a virtual reality world where anything is possible. Filled with vintage videogame characters and then some. Interesting story line, action packed movie. If you like virtual reality and are in touch with videogame culture then this movie is for you.

To think the greatest Director/Writer of our generation did this movie and also did some of the greatest of all time movies Jaws, Jurassic Park and so many others, I thought this was ok at best

About 25 or 27 years in the future, the known world is change, in some ways it's what we imagine, but in others, the problems of the past are still there, there is sort of a escape more or less. There is a virally system, that every can play, you be anyone, do anything, be any where. But there a prince, you have win certaint games, to get to the next level, sound easy, it's not though there players who play it for the game. But there are people, who have a mysterious reason , no one win . And reach the final levell to get a prise that the group who want control for themselves.

I was excited to see this movie because I thoroughly enjoyed the book. If you have not read it, you will probably think this movie is kind of cool. I was disappointed so much was changed or left out.

I saw the trailer and wasn't sure about the movie. We rented it one night and the entire family thoroughly enjoyed it. It has something for everyone. Though I had not read the book I heard it was close to it. We ended up buying the movie so we could watch it again, there is so much going on a times you have to watch it 3 or 4 times to catch everything. Highly recommended.

Best time we've had watching a movie in quite some time! Visually beautiful, lots of hidden Easter eggs, fun and adventurous. I loved the premise of the easter egg hunt. I only wish there had been more exploration of the Oasis world and it's intricacies and some of the 3rd act story line felt a little flat but overall a fun movie! Came away wanting to see it again and again!

This movie absolutely blew me away. The movie takes a fantastic adventure story between the real world and the virtual world, The stakes make themselves known as the movie progresses. with many good lessons about life learned along the way. The sheer number of 80's references are far too many to count, and if you love all things 80's you should definitely enjoy this movie.

I have to say I really enjoyed this movie I have already watched it 3 times. As a child of the 80's this movie is a blast form the past. However it can seem like nostalgia overload sometimes, especially the battle seen you have seen in the previews. That is something you really have to go through frame by frame to catch all the characters from other stuff. Good time though.

I love this movie!!! I love video games and the many slight references it includes (not crucial to the story). My favorite part is that it is in Dolby Atmos and it sounds so good on my system. I cannot wait to see this in 4k HDR! If you have a great system, even if you are not into the story, this will be eye candy and a movie that you will want to show your friends!

Although the many story changes might be hard for book purists to accept, Steven Spielberg has lovingly captured the zeitgeist of '80s nostalgia in this adventure. Ready Player One is a sweetly nostalgic thrill ride that neatly encapsulates Spielberg's strengths while adding another solidly engrossing adventure to his filmography.

I feel like I haven't seen a great movie in a long time until I saw this movie, which I first saw in the theatres and wanted to own. Have watched a number of times since and still really enjoy the storyline, characters, and overall quality of the picture. If you like Sci-Fi and are into gaming, this is a great film to watch.

This is my dream come true movie. If you were born in the 70’s and grew up playing arcades and watch movie and read comics, this is your dream as well. It’s a must watch. Spielberg!, you deserve Emmy. From Back To The Future, to Street Fighter to The Iron Giant, there is a cameo in this movie.

I didn't know much about the movie going in besides the trailer I saw. Growing up in the 80s and being a life long gamer, I loved all the references and cameos they included. The story was good, and the movie just felt like everything you want from a summer blockbuster. I will watch this several times and share it with my small kids when they get a bit older.
