To start off, I will say I am glad this movie was a loose interpretation of the book. If this movie followed the book, it would have made for a dull boring movie. The different quests made sense movie wise and provided for some memorable moments. Unfortunately, the actors lacked the charisma needed to pull the characters off. I loved all the 80s shout outs provided by this movie. After watching this movie, I had to buy some 80s video games.

Steven Spielberg's Ready Player One is a nostalgia-fueled ride through a virtual world made up almost entirely of pop-culture references, and the legendary filmmaker manages to make the whole spectacle into an entertaining piece of escapism. The movie plugs into the world of 4K Ultra HD with a fantastic Dolby Vision presentation, a demo-worthy Dolby Atmos soundtrack, and a healthy set of supplements, making the overall package Recommended

The story about a teenager trying to escape the "real" world is not new, but using Virtual Reality to do it, was done pretty well. It's sad to think that the future might hold this type of society, where you interact with others virtually and my not get the opportunity to meet the real person behind the avatar. Enough action and story to keep one engaged throughout the movie. Not a must have, but worth a look if you run across it online.

I purchased this solely based on Spielberg directing the movie. I must say that it has excellent CGI and the storyline is easy to follow; like any movie there are some slower parts that you can make your mind wander off but all in all a good movie and will definitely watch again

This movie for me will be a movie I can continue to watch over and over again. Similar to Back to the Future or Star Wars, when its on, I can always watch it. Loved this movie from beginning to end with lots of Pop Culture references especially if you grew up in the 80's / 90's.

Admittedly, I was not really interested in seeing this movie, but I'm really glad a family member talked me into it. Great action, special effects, original story line, and casting, all in a UHD 4K and 7.1 experience. The digital download is handy also. Totally worth watching!

This movie is beautiful, it's so much fun, it's just a great movie to watch. Is it perfect? No. Is it a really good adaptation of a book? Yes. Is it fun? You bet. I've had a few movies over the years that I just love to throw on and watch anytime. This movie is now one of them.

...so I bought it. Yeah, I loved the movie, so I bought it; not really a review. Loved the pop culture and the gaming references in it, but when we watched it in the theater, we were unable to catch everything, so we decided we had to get it when it came out so that we could.

Full of nostalgia and all the pop culture references I grew up on. I dont think 1 movie could have handled all that happened in the book and I didnt love all the changes from the book. Although the movie was a blast and exciting. The visuals were amazing and gets you entranced.

This is one of my favorite movies of all time. I just had to have it in 4k. I literally don't even own a 4k player yet, but I'm planning on getting a PS5 soon, so this will be waiting for it. The price from Best Buy was excellent.

I really enjoyed the story behind this movie. As a fan of video games myself, though I wouldn’t consider myself a real “gamer”, I enjoyed all of the video game references and characters (most of the movie). The graphics are amazing on 4K/ UHD. My whole family enjoyed the movie.

A much better movie than I had thought! Tye Sheridan and Olivia Cooke along with the rest of the cast are awesome! 80's music and the virtual-reality universe helped them achieve a must see movie. AND.....STEVEN SPIELBERG!

I bought this movie just for its audio quality, it's at reference level - a must-have if you have an Atmos setup. The first racing scene is amazingly done, heavy workout for all your speakers.

This is a throughly modern movie With a semi dystrophic theme and Campy fun cultural references. And it had a happy ending. Any gamer will love it and really anyone it has s little if everything. Good guys and bad guys a great Gillian and a love story.

This movie reminds me so much of the great movies that I grew up watching in the 80's and 90's and is something unique and original and not a lame reboot or poorly done prequel/sequel like so many movies are now, it's an amazing thrill ride of a film that all ages will enjoy.

After having read the book that this film is based off of a couple of times, I was surprised to see how well crafted this movie was. There are many deviations from the book in terms of detail and the Gates, but this is understandable for movie form. The only thing I didn't like about this printing of the movie is that there is no 3D option. If any movie needs to have its native 3D ported over, it's this one. One star knocked off for that.

So I am one usually to jump on any 3D versions of films. After reading that the 3D Blu Ray of this movie is a standard 5.1 DD sound though, I couldn't justify the purchase when this 4KUHD disk comes with Dolby Atmos sound. If the 3d version would not have skipped on this, I would say buy that one if your a 3D fan like me. But come on? Why they choose to do this I have no idea. The sound overhead sounds great! And it has Dobly Vision too!

Ready Player One is a movie that is enjoyable for anyone who is into video games, movies, comic books, or any other entertainment medium for that matter. The story takes place in a futuristic setting and all the characters and events illustrate a cohesive story throughout.

If you remember, or just lived through the 80's you'll appreciate all of the nostalgia, even my 11 year old loved the Back to The Future Delorean. It was a fun movie with some social commentary about about living on our devices, but nothing preachy. Sit back and enjoy the ride!

If you love the 80's then your gonna enjoy this film. I will say it's not as good as the book but when is a movie really ever as good as the book? I think they did a really good job to bring some of the bigger moments to the screen from the book and it was presented well.
