Although after market batteries are much cheaper, it comes at the expense of faster power depletion and incompatibilty issues. Don't let your workflow suffer, go with an original Sony battery.

The Sony A7ii doesn't have great battery life so a backup battery was needed. I can easily make it through a full day now with 2 batteries and not have to worry about it.

The price was considerably lower but it also "died" in about one year. I learnt a big lesion as I was ready to shoot a wedding and had no power.

Great Sony Quality

Better than a off market battery that I have that fits my camera. I will be sticking to the Sony Brand for my camera. Clone battery gives about 1/2 life.

You may not be able to recharge since it takes about five hours to fully charge the battery so a spare one can save the day.

I got this battery and a generic. at about the same time. Both work ok now. Time will tell whether the Sony battery is worth the high price. I intend to re-review after seeing how the generic battery compares. Anynoe know a reliable source of info about the self-discharge rate of camera batteries?
