Better than the original Red Dawn. Some intense spot but generally good movie

I knew this movie would stink but I believe I picked it up for $ 9. It brought me back to when I was a child and the original Red Dawn came out, which also wasn't that great a movie, but it came out during the cold war so at least it was slightly relevant. Better than a romantic comedy any day though!!!

I am relatively easy to please when it comes to action films, but this one just did not quite resonate with me. The movie took itself too seriously to be a silly romp, but then didn't pay enough attention to plot, dialogue and pacing to be a serious drama. The actors did what they could with what they were given, which wasn't much.

The remake of the original Red Dawn is descent but does not really try to involve you in the characters lives. At the end of the movie you did not really care if they lived or died. Doesnt really hold a candle to the original. I really dont understand why Chris Hensworth is an actor. His acting is wooden and 1 dimensional.

remakes rarely do the original justice still prefer the original but worth a watch
