My remote starter hood switch was not installed
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.The Voxx Electronics - Ball Bearing Tilt Switch Model:8613 was included in my Compustar - 1-Button Remote Starter T-Harness Kit Model:RS1B-DC3 purchase along with the Compustar - Hardwire Installation Kit for RS1B-DC3 Model:FT-HRN-DC3. Due to the COVID-19 installation restrictions I had to pick up my order for installation at a later date. I scheduled the installation and I gave the bag including the 3 components to the BestBuy technician at the scheduled installation date. The technician demoed operation of the remote starter for me after it was installed, but didn't mention how the tilt switch worked. A few days later while I was checking under the hood, I could not find the switch location, and I confirmed that the remote starter worked normally even with the hood open - it was not installed and it was not returned to me by the technician. Per the BB website statement "Remote start with T-harness installation includes mounting of antenna and hood switch, connecting/concealing wiring and a demo of the product's features." I had to make another appointment to install the missing switch, which is a critical safety feature for anyone working under the hood since it does not allow the remote starter to work with the hood up. Make sure the tilt switch is installed before you leave BestBuy so you don’t have to waste time with another appointment!
