The stickers and lines - all of which should line up - do not and never have. This means a great deal of toying with the filter to ensure a tight fit. Time consuming and frustrating. Also, the fancy digital read-out on my Samsung fridge died within 2 1/2 yrs - out of warranty and far too expensive to repair as the entire system must be replaced. Filter is necessary, though.

It's a water filter
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.My samsung tech told me you don't have to replace these when the light comes on. The light is timed for a 6 month cycle. Replace when the water flow slows.

Please keep in mind that Samsung recommends using only official Samsung filters for both performance and to ensure it's compatible. Some "knock off brands" could potentially damage the filter housing.
