In addition to providing great-tasting water, the filter helps to protect the Refrigerator's water lines from debris and mineral deposits that could potentially clog the lines. The filter's packaging should include a Performance Data Sheet that details what's filtered.

None of them provided the filtering of the original Samsung filter., regardless of the amount of 'flushing' done at installation. Yes the original filters are more expensive (sometimes twice the cost of the knock-offs) but in my opinion they provide the best filtering and taste of any others tried.
